The Rev. Al Sharpton and other black leaders yesterday ripped school officials in the Westchester town of Peekskill who called a 7-year-old prodigy's poetry offensive. Parents of students at Peekskill HS and Peekskill Middle School received recorded phone messages last week, apologizing for a poem Autum Ashante wrote and recited at the schools to celebrate Black History Month.
The poem, "White Nationalism Put U In Bondage," likened Christopher Columbus and Charles Darwin to "pirates" and "vampires" who robbed blacks of their dignity.
"Whether one agrees or disagrees with what she said, there was an entire overreaction and I intend to look into it," said Sharpton, himself a prodigy who was preaching at the age of 4. "This could have an indelible impact on this young lady's growth and creativity."
New York City Councilman Charles Barron, a former Black Panther, said, "Heads should roll!" and planned to call on state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer today to probe whether Autum's right to free speech was stifled.
"The proper thing to do would have been to call the schools together and have an analytical discussion, not apologize as if she did something wrong," he said.

Liberals love hate speech when it's aimed at America.
Charles Darwin?! What in the hell did he have to do with the slave trade?
"New York City Councilman Charles Barron, a former Black Panther, said, "Heads should roll!" and planned to call on state Attorney General Eliot Spitzer today to probe whether Autum's right to free speech was stifled."
Wow. Just freakin' wow. I'm sure this guy would have no problem with white kids wearing Confederate Battle Flag shirts, much less preaching "White Power".
I'm sure the Rev. Fat Boy will be the first to support a white child's poem averring that all blacks are pimps and "hos". Freedom of expression and all that.
Sharpton? To paraphrase: my kingdom for a hatpin!
Sharpton must be giddy!! He's found himself another "Tawana Bradley"!!
King had a dream for America. Big Al's working on a nightmare. America hating Bastard.
Icing on the cake.
Councilman Charles Barron:
Also from Barron:
Is this the new euphemism for a junior commie/traitor??
Sure sure he was in it before Bush, what a load, gee you don't think this kid is being coached do you?
Wasn't there a girl that had a Conf. Flag on her purse and she was not allowed to bring it to school?
The Rev. Al Sharpton and other black leaders....
That should read:
The Rev. Al Sharpton and other black racist, opportunists...
Prodigy my butt. What 7 year old smart enough to write about white nationalism would fall for the black Bullcrap fed to them by racists parents.
You may have revealed the key to sending Reverend Al to the showers quickly. Simply Miss address the child as "Tawana" in public regularly and her parents will send Al a packin' promptly.
White Nationalism Put U In Bondage
White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirate and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
Drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel, tricks and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look in our streets
The mis-education of she and Hegro leaves you on your knee2grow
Black lands taken from your hands, by vampires with no remorse
They took the gold, the wisdom and all of the storytellers
They took the black women, with the black man weak
Made to watch as they changed the paradigm
Of our village
They killed the blind, they killed the lazy, they went
So far as to kill the unborn baby
Yeah White nationalism is what put you in bondage
Pirates and vampires like Columbus, Morgan, and Darwin
They drank the blood of the sheep, trampled all over them with
Steel laden feet, throw in the tricks alcohol and deceit.
Nothing has changed take a look at our streets.
