I supported the original contract and I would likely support this one...with some reservations.

Consider the part where we reduce funding for U.N. peace keepers. Since the president has just confirmed a continued policy of preemptive intervention in bad countries does this mean that we want to do it all with U.S. troops? how much will that cost?

The part where we cut off funding for for arts and public broadcasting would be fine with me if was done on principle - saying that governments have no role in arts or educational programming. But this makes it sound like the main motive is censoring views and art we don't like.

Thats what I was thinking also. Would these people support PBS if they showed pro-traditional values programing? I still wouldn't want my tax money going to NEA, PBS or NEH. Its a waste of money no matter what they do.

The left will certainly spin it this way. "If you don't financially advocate the arts, you are censoring them." To me, most artists are merely unemployed with a hobby.
