Alert the media! Breaking news!
So... I guess the honeymoon is over, then???
the Dems are:
So what else is new?
I do not believe they are allowed to do this.
Active duty personnel? Will they present them with paper bags over the heads?
Same ol' $hit all talk and no plan.
"Jim Manley, Mr. Reid's spokesman, said yesterday the planned events are not part of a political campaign. They would involve only incumbent Democratic senators, some of whom are up for re-election, but not Democratic Senate challengers, he said. Democrats hope to capture Senate control in November's election."
Some one asked that last nite. I didn't stay up to see the responses.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahah ~~klunk~~~
Ouch, fell out of my chair laughing! And the dems foreign policy and national security policies are...
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ~~klunk~~
Wow, so the Democrats are going to attack Bush instead of the terrorists? Shocking.
They really think they will get active duty military to do this?
They really are stupid.
Patrick stupid.
Rock stupid.
LOL! The stench of Terry McAuliffe remains! Like 2002, run against Bush --- who isn't running!
Dems have no issues other than adjusting positives and negatives.
It's deja vu all over again. I could have sworn that I saw this very story posted a couple hours ago when I checked in.
any active duty military member who speaks at one of these functions is subject to the UCMJ just as those of us who were active duty during Clinton's presidency were repeatedly warned in briefings that we would be prosecuted if we said anything negative about the lying cheating draft doging rapist scumbag.
I do not believe they are allowed to do this.
I know that active-duty military aren't allowed to do this. First, they aren't supposed to be at political events in uniform (or using their military status). Second, if they bash the President publicly, they are guilty of violating Article 88 of the UCMJ, Contempt towards officials.
I saw that idiot Paul Hackett on Hairball last night, talking to Chrissy Matthews...so it has already started.
He uses his credentials as an Iraq vet to get a chance to speak...but what he speaks is gobbledy-gook!!
I am sure the the DNC, with money from Soros...has been able to dig up all kinds of "hacketts".
Senate Democrats have mapped a political battle plan
How much lower can these commies go?
That's a curiously worded statement, isn't it?
And here they are:
Daniel Akaka (HI)
Jeff Bingaman (NM)
Robert Byrd (WV)
Maria Cantwell (WA)
Tom Carper (DE)
Hillary Rodham Clinton (NY)
Kent Conrad (ND)
Dianne Feinstein (CA)
Edward Kennedy (MA)
Herb Kohl (WI)
Joe Lieberman (CT)
Robert Menendez (NJ)
Ben Nelson (NE)
Bill Nelson (FL)
Debbie Stabenow (MI)
Thanks SIDENET! I was posting as you were sending. Nice to have the UCMJ Article number.
A double thank you to you for your service during that difficult time in America's history. ('93-'00)

THEY CAN'T HOLD THESE RALLIES. Pentagon policy forbids campaign rallies and rallies of this sort at mil bases.

DEMOCRAPS ARE PLAYING POLITICS WITH THE WAR!!!!!!!!
Quite frankly, no one is fooled by this nonsense. They tried that with Kerry in 2004 and still lost big because they are fooling no one.
WOW-thanks!
Thanks for posting that, I had an idea that enlisted personnel could get themselves in trouble, and that confirms it.
It just opens the door for the dummies to use fakes, though, or those no longer serving who would be willing to step up to the plate.
Thank You. At least it was mitigated by the fact that I got to enter the military Under Ronaldus Magnus (Sep-81) and retire under Dubya (Feb 05) -- Counting Bush 41 I was able to serve 15 1/2 of my 23 1/2 under Republican Presidents :-).
***"Millions for politics, but not one cent for the national interest."***
I like that. Just make it, "national defense," and people will be copying it all over FR.
(In fact....see my tagline)

(I'll take it off as my tagline if you want.)
That's what makes this so disgusting. Members of Congress do (and, IMO, should) visit with troops. There should be at least some level of trust in these visits. But this scam takes that all away. How are the troops to know when they are being saluted, and when they are being used?
I guess we can only hope that the commanding officers are vigilant. But it's a shame that they have to spend time and effort on keeping politics out of the military. That should be a given.
Checking to make certain that headline is correct before I use it ....... mahalo m
I may be mistaken, but, if military members are in uniform, isn't it illegal to use such for political events.
Great to know it wasn't all bad for you! To bad about that little blip. ;*) Thanks again!
No question at all, which is why this upsets me so.
the troop may believe that the Congress person's request legitimizes his or her participation.
That is a very good point.
And that is the issue I use when writing to my Sen/Reps.
While in theory, this makes sense, we all know that certain critters can not be trusted!
On the bright side, our troops KNOW they are being used as political stunts. One of our wounded warriors told me last night (naming no names) that he "guesses it is nice they come to see some of us" that they know it is political because they drag camera crews and reporters with them.
This same soldier said they know those who are there because they care, citing Colonel North, as one who actually visits because he cares about them. He followed that statement with a big smile and a "I love that guy!"
Active Duty Personnel?.....I don't think so, if they value their careers.....
Perhaps they don't realize that Bush is not running for a seat in the Senate?
I think this would be a great opportunity for the Republican challengers to slaughter the incumbent Dems for their records on any number of Domestic issues while they flail about trying to attack Bush on National Security.
Has the RNC found its gonads yet? We're waiting!
Thank you for my new tagline.
Good point. The camera crews and reporters are a good clue. :-)
active duty military personnel??? not legal, but why let that stop you!!!
I have a strong sense stinking SOROS is behind the staged anti-war global protests leading to the frontal attack by the RATS on the war!...HMMMM, smells fishy to me!
