Dubya lacks the intellectual fexibility and vision to adapt to changing economic conditions.
He'll blindly adhere to globization strategies even as they erode and undermine our nation's economic security. But what else could you expect from someone who spent the first 40 years of his like curled up inside a keg of beer? Sheeeeesh... nothing says "stupidity" like clinging to same policies that are dragging him down to begin with.
I have been tossing my resume everywhere. I am not even getting a nibble. I also speak with a lot of people all over the country they all say the same things. The economy is bad.
I cant figure out who is right the government or my friends. If anybody knows anyone that can help me create a good resume. please freepmail me...

Would you agree the onus of that situation is on the agressiveness of a municipal taxing authority, and not so much the national economy?
In your situation no matter the state of the economy, you are getting squeezed by a local marxist taxing regime(Property taxes being local not national). Perhaps, if the economy truly was in the tank...the local authorities would not be so inclined to raise rates and valuations...maybe.
Depending on where you live in Houston...your fact pattern would be different.
So the question is do you move? Or do you take your case before the municipal authorities, that property valuations are being overstated to raise revenue for mismanaged municipality and get your tax burden reduced?
Incidently, I understand this is what is happening around the houston area. It's independent of the economy, but effects your personal pocked book nonetheless. Joining a local taxpayor advocacy group could help your cause.
I get it. If the economy is good (now) but idiot sheeple think it's bad then a poll is better than reality. If the economy is faltering (late Clinton) but the idiot sheeple think it's good then a poll is better than reality. Either way it's the Republicans' fault and Bush's popularity drops.

But one fact that seems to escape many who talk about is the economy good or bad. National numbers do not matter to most. Remember Tip O'Niel? I disagreed with him on most things but I agree with one thing he said, "All politics is local." I also think that for most Americans all economics is local. My check book balance, my debt ratio, and how much my family nets in out pay checks are my leading economic indicators. If I think they are going well and my job is secure then the economy is great, if not I worry. And that is how most are. And most I know are getting cautious.
Yep, "All politics is local", is a great observation.
IMHO, it's only a matter of time before the outrage about property tax rates reach critical mass in this city and something is done.
It's no secret how mismanaged this city, and its surrounding municipalities, are. (i.e. mayor's office bonus fiasco)

Nevertheless, Dubya has got to be dumb as a ROCK to willingly yield the high ground on trade and immigration issues to idiots like Schumer and Hildebeast Klinton.
Sheeeeeesh.... just HOW does Karl Rove expect to get Americans' support on these issues when the message he sends out consists of America bashing slogans? ("Americans are fat and lazy", "Americans are racists and bigots", "Americans are poorly educated and don't deserve good jobs")
Heck, the bozo never misses and opportunity to smear the American People on these issues, then turns around and wonders why his popularity is dropping in the polls. That is DUMB.
Not to mention the waste in education spending. It will be interesting to see what kind of abomination the state legislature comes up with in the special seccion on education spending next month.

I've never heard anything remotely like "fat and lazy" coming from GW regarding America. Instead, he just said this AM that we should not fear the future, that Americans can not only compete, but lead the world. Didn't sound like an insult to me.
And the good news about the President, is that he doesn't care about the polls. At least not to the degree that most politicians do. Do you want a "finger in the air" type prez like slick willie?
As for incompetent, he's been involved in 3 national elections. Each time his party has flourished. What other politician had that track record?
Actually the truth for this media is a two edged sword. 100,000 new jobs for Clinton is a hot economy. 200,000 for Bush is a weak jobs report. Starting with the facts would do us a lot of good.

and it would have been over long ago. IMHO Without the encouragement given to the "insurgents" by our 'Rat politicians and MSM, there would be very little resistance to democratic progress.
The bots do not want to listen, but if we lose the house or the senate their screams will be deafening.
