I have no quarrel with that. The only question is that women who behave as sexual predators should be treated the same as men in the court of law. When a pregnancy develops out of the act, the older of the two should bear the responsiblity. How can you hold a child of 14 or 15 responsible for the support of a child that he is himself and let the woman off without so much as a slap on the wrist. Where the adult male will spend time in jail for years and be labeled a sex predator.
If the laws are to be followed, then they should be followed the same for men and women.
Yeah, the problem is that with the dishonest "logic" of the court system, male victims of statutory rape have been held accountable for supporting a child. I could see a fine line there, but making (the parents of) a 14 year-old pay child support to the person who statutorially raped him? They justify this with the old "the child is entitled to support" argument.

This bias extends to all types of situations. Don't fool yourself, women literally get by with murder in America, just because they are the preferred sex and are the victims. It should be par for the course for any good defense attorney in a spousal murder case to claim that the woman was a victim of "battered wife syndrome" or some other BS.
The whole victimology thing is genius really. The left will defend women who do unspeakable acts just because the left is deluded. A large portion of conservatives get behind the woman in cases like this out of chivalry. That poor little women could not have possibly has been a criminal, she is so purdy! Idiots all.
I can only imagine what the media would have done in a press conference where a man claimed that his having consensual sex with a 14 year-old girl was because he was bipolar. I am sure there would be no softball "do you want to have children?" questions.
Yeah it could be copycat stuff. LaFave has admitted she did it.
But people never lie about sexual crimes, right? (sarc)
I'm on the naughty schoolteacher pinglist. The more female teachers I see, the more I wonder. I haven't seen enough evidence with some of them which would satisfy me as to dead to the wall guilt.
Nope, no one lies about sex. Teenagers never lie about anything. /big whopping dose of sarcasm
Many older men have had their lives ruined by charm. Most religions provide rules to live by to avoid this sort of thing.
I believe that Mary Kay Letourneau had bipolar disorder as well... coincidence?
Does this mean Jessica's Law is only to be applied to men?
I don't believe bipolar disorder has anything to do with statutory rape, reckless behavior maybe, but she still knew the difference between right and wrong.
They are both lying scum. I agree that is a strange "coincidence."
I am not aware of exactly how Jessica's law works, but I bet it does not apply to consensual sex with an minor (statutory rape)(i.e. under a certain age usually cannot consent at all, so if you had a 10 year-old guy, Jessica's law would apply, I believe.)
That statement has as much to do with the legal differences as yours did..
If this woman was unattractive, this particular story would have disappeared within a few days.
Men just want to fantasize.
Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that.
