Good morning, Everyone. Good morning to our
Military, our Allies, and their families.
Thank you, GeeBee, Jr. for preparing the Canteen for todays activities. And, welcome to the ranks of official posters.
Most of the dogs we've had have been adopted either from the Humane Society or our local pound. We currently have a mixed lab/some-kind-of-hound, which we adopted from the pound. I don't have any pictures of him here at work. He is sort of a chocolate color (I call it more rust color), has a thin build unlike most labs, and is medium height. We named him Jackson because my husband is a war buff, mainly the civil war. He is now approximately 10 years old. He still has bad habits.
Until recently he had a younger brother, named Muddy Waters (I named him after the blues singer and because he has markings that remind me of muddy water) who is a black mixed shepherd/lab. He adopted us. He wandered into our yard about six years ago and would not leave. So, we had to start feeding him and took him to the vet.
Now for an update on the weather in DC Metroland. We are off to a very chilly start. It will warm up today, but only near 50. When I got in my car this morning I noticed we must have had some kind of precip last night. I had ice on my windows. Brrrrrr........I'm ready for real spring!
I hate to rush off, but I see there are some birthdays happening today. I need to do some shopping.
To all newbies and lurkers
But, you stay right where you are. Don't touch that dial. Don't change that channel. Put down that remote. Don't leave the room. Keep your eyes on your monitor. Cause...............I'll be bock!
Now remember, the Canteen is
So, come on in and sit for a while. There's always plenty of coffee, pancakes, conversation, silliness, and plain old BS
REMEMBER THEM

Today's FEEBLE
YOKE :
The local sheriff was looking for a deputy, so Tomkow, who was not exactly the sharpest nail in the bucket, went in to try out for the job.
"Okay," the sheriff drawled, "Tomkow, what is 1 and 1?"
"11" he replied.
The sheriff thought to himself, "That's not what I meant, but he's right. What two days of the week start with the letter 'T'?"
"Today and tomorrow."
The sheriff was again surprised that Tomkow supplied a correct answer that he had never thought of himself.
"Now Tomkow, listen carefully: Who killed Abraham Lincoln?"
Tomkow looked a little surprised himself, then thought really hard for a minute and finally admitted, "I don't know."
"Well, why don't you go home and work on that one for a while?"
So, Tomkow wandered over to the bar where his pals were waiting to hear the results of the interview.
Tomkow was exultant. "It went great! First day on the job and I'm already working on a murder case!"

Good morning everyone!
Thank you to our wonderful military for everything you do!
I'm more of a cat person, but I still have a soft spot for dogs, especially puppies. They can be the most amusing creatures :) In this cold weather I've been seeing more and more dogs with their sweaters and coats on. Some of those poor animals just look so embaressed, lol.
Oh hey its breakfast time! Our Building management team is providing breakfast for all the tenants today. Come to work and get free breakfast...I can live that, hehe.
Have a good one ya'll! : )
Looks like a great thread. Sorry to be late to the barkathon.
Good Morning troops! Good Morning everyone! A couple years back, my father, brother, and I decided to get my mother a kitten for her birthday. We went to the local animal shelter and they said they only had two kittens left. One was Penny (we renamed her Tabby) and the other was her brother. We picked Tabby because of her cool markings. On her side she has concentric circles that look just like a target. Anyway, Tabby is currently sleeping in a box that's two sizes too small for her. She's sticking up out of the top, falling out of the sides, etc. But she looks adorable. On to the humor attempt!
FELINE PHYSICS
Law of Cat Magnetism
All blue blazers and black sweaters attract cat hair in direct proportion to the darkness of the fabric.
Law of Cat Elongation
A cat can make her body long enough to reach just about any counter top that has anything remotely interesting on it.
Law of Obedience Resistance
A cat's resistance varies in proportion to a human's desire for her to do something.
First Law of Energy Conservation
Cats know that energy can neither be created nor destroyed and will, therefore, use as little energy as possible.
Second Law of Energy Conservation
Cats also know that energy can only be stored by a lot of napping.
Law of Cat Composition
A cat is composed of Matter + Anti-Matter + It Doesn't Matter.
We're having a pool party.
As many jaws as will fit on it.
It's great to be a puppy.
