Body Found Hanging Outside VFW Post in Ky.
2 hours, 17 minutes ago

WINCHESTER, Ky. - A man apparently hanged himself outside a Veterans of Foreign Wars post early Wednesday morning, just hours after someone burned an American flag in the same place, Winchester police said.

Detective James Hall said foul play was not suspected.

Hall said the dead man was found by a passer-by about 1 a.m., about two hours after the flag was burned. He was dressed in civilian clothes and found hanging by the flagpole rope, Hall said.

The man had not been identified Wednesday afternoon. Clark County Coroner David Jacobs said he appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s but was not carrying identification.

The body was sent to the state medical examiner's office in Frankfort for an autopsy.

Winchester, a city of about 16,000 residents, is about 20 miles east of Lexington.

Hey; it worked for Vince Foster, didn't it?

In any case; I shall not mourn the passing of a Traitor.

Nor would I particularly grieve a similar attack of terminal depression in the case of a few communist / seditious tenured college professors we might know.

Despising the very Country that one lives in, is protected by, and draws their sustenance from must eventually take it's toll on the psyche, don't you suppose?

Man found hanged at VFW

Wednesday, March 22, 2006 12:30 PM EST

Winchester police are investigating an apparent suicide that occurred at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post at 116 Sterling St. this morning.

Police say an unidentified white male in his 30s was discovered hanging from the flag pole at the VFW post at approximately 1 a.m.

The first officer who arrived on the scene cut down the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner David Jacobs.

At 11:08 p.m. Tuesday, police and the Winchester Fire Department had responded to the same location, where an American flag had been lowered and set on fire. Detective James Hall says he suspects that the same person set fire to the flag and later hanged himself on the flag pole.

Foul play is not suspected, according to Hall.

Hall says the man was 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and weighed between 140-160 pounds.

Police say the man was not carrying identification. They are asking anyone who might know the man's identity to contact the Winchester Police Department at 745-7403.

Hanged man identified; he lived in Lancaster
POLICE THINK HE BURNED VFW FLAG
By Greg Kocher
CENTRAL KENTUCKY BUREAU

Winchester police have identified the man found hanged Wednesday at the base of a VFW post flagpole as Bobby Hall Jr., 35, of Lancaster.

Hall worked for a Winchester construction company, Winchester police Detective Harold Jones said yesterday. Hall's body was found at the base of the VFW Post 2728 flagpole early Wednesday, a couple of hours after the post's American flag had been burned.

Police think Hall burned the flag. They found burn marks on his clothing and ashes on his hands.

It was not known whether Hall, who was single, had a military background. Police said they had no indication that he was making a statement about the military. Police had not received an autopsy report, but they said that the manner in which the body was found indicated strangulation was the most likely cause of death, said Winchester police Capt. Harvey Craycraft.

Hall had no identification when police found his body. They identified him by showing his photo to residents of the Thoroughbred Efficiency Apartments, next door to the post.

A resident said the man pictured looked like Hall, who had once lived there. Through the manager, they found Hall's employer, and then his sister in Lancaster.

Meanwhile, police were continuing to investigate the death of a second man whose body was found in a Thoroughbred apartment Wednesday afternoon.

They said the man was 52 years old, but they were not releasing his identity, pending notification of next of kin. Jones said police don't suspect foul play, but they have not ruled out a link to the other death.

"We're not going to discount any theory or hypothesis at this time," Jones said. "We're going to take our time with it and make sure that we don't leave any stone unturned."

"Given the proximity of the location, that's an unusual thing to happen within that time period," he said. "Two deceased bodies within that close a proximity. That's unusual and rare, so automatically that gives you a possibility that they might know each other or something. So we're talking to everybody we can talk to."
