I believe Joe Wilson wrote his editorial in the NY Times.

Where do you live in Bucks?

Here's the link to the original NY Times column - but you gotta pay to get it:

http://select.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F30D12F7355E0C758CDDAE0894DB404482

But it's reprinted on this "Progressive" website: http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0706-02.htm

If my memory serves me, Wilson was in support of the administration until he was hired by the Kerry campaign (April, 2004, maybe?).

If I remember correctly, uncle Joe wrote his hit piece on Bush in May/June 2003... Novak wrote his column exposing Val in July 2003.

Joe Wilson definitely started his campaign against the Bush administration by May 2003 when he attended the "Senate Democratic Policy Committee" meetings and spewed his first version of b.s. to Nicholas Kristof of the NY Times. His fictional version of history is discussed (without attribution by name) by Kristof around May 6, 2003 and by Walter Pincus of the WaPo around June 12, 2003. Wilson is a lying sack-of-XXXX who has been pursuing a filthy treasonous campaign against our government. If you go through posts and links under a search for keyword 'CIALEAK' you will find lots and lots of goodies.

There are lots of good links and details to start with here:

Start here. Wilson's tracks pre July 6, 2003 are not easy to uncover. Nearly all the "news" relates to his Op-Ed re: "the 16 words"

Dissecting Wilson has been an in-house sport here, because almost nothing he says is true. The fun is in finding the internal inconsistencies as he contradicts himself from one day to the next, or (you get more points for this) from within the same article.

One of the key things is this. The IAEA never monitored Niger's uranium industry, which debunks a goodly part of Wilson's story.

Wilson admits he never went to the mining regions. What he doesn't say is that no one is allowed to go there, which means that no one monitors those areas. IAEA admitted that they didn't, saying they didn't have the personnel, they didn't have legal permission from Niger, and anyway (according to them) yellowcake is not such a big deal, no need to monitor it.

The visit by Saddam's men to Niger was never a secret, Wilson knew it, it was public information. So pretending that it never happened, or neglecting to mention it in any of his pieces is a lie of omission, since obviously it complicates his story.

And then there is the little matter of Libya; where did their yellow-cake come from? According to Wilson, France would never do anything illegal (and obviously, we know that is false right up front) and would not be involved in smuggling uranium. But according to early reports after Libya's surrender, thats exactly where their yellowcake came from.

Wilson doesn't mention that he belongs to a Saudi-financed think tank, he doesn't mention that he is partners with a Saudi investor specializing in West African mining. That may or may not mean anything. But its never mentioned, so you have to wonder if he thinks it would again distract from his story if people knew it.

I don't know the whereabouts of the Op Ed - but on Rush Limbaugh's website - he has (or had) a link called: "The lies of Joseph Wilson" or something like that! He also listed that item in an issue of the The Limbaugh Letter.

If you don't find it there, you might send Rush an e-mail and ask him to post it again.
