Re: Your attempt to shut down political free speech on the Internet

John McCain, you treasonous bastard, I challenge you or any of your traitorous cohorts to find even one thread, one post, one paragraph, one sentence or even one lousy word posted to this web site that is not fully protected by the First Amendment!

And I will extend that to one chapter, one group, one poster or any group of posters on this forum. Name one assembly, petition, letter, protest, meeting or rally convened, filed, submitted, attended or supported by members of this forum that is not 100% protected and guaranteed as free speech or free assembly by the First Amendment!

Your McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform legislation is a treasonous act. You and your cohorts are attempting to subvert the Constitution of the United States of America, the very same constitution that you swore an oath to defend, so help you God! That makes you a domestic enemy of that great document and a traitor to your country. Yes, and Benedict Arnold was a war hero before he turned traitor too.

How dare you even think that you are qualified to sit in the oval office! Ronald Reagan's office! President? Hah! You miserable excuse for a two-bit political hack, you're not even qualified to shine Ronald Reagan's boots. If you do run, I'm afraid you're gonna be at least one vote short. It'll be a cold day in hell before a traitor like you ever receives my vote. And that's a campaign promise you can take to the bank.

You can take your fascist campaign finance laws and the jackbooted FEC anti-free-speech enforcers you are empowering and put them where the sun don't shine. And if this post is in violation of your unconstitutional law, shove it too!

Paraphrased from In the Face of Evil: Reagan's War in Word and Deed:

The Beast never dies, it simply changes form. The Beast has known many forms: Bolshevism, communism, Nazism, fascism. The Beast has had many names: Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Tojo, Mao, Pol Pot.

The Beast cannot co-exist with freedom. The very first freedom lost is the freedom of speech, then religion, knowledge and the arts. Anything that empowers the individual must be destroyed. The state must control all.

Power to the state.

Power as an end to itself.

Those who speak out against the Beast are labeled extremists, radicals, warmongers. Churchill, McCarthy, Reagan.

The Beast must be contained, appeased. We must have "Detente" at any cost. Direct confrontation of the Beast must be avoided.

Appease him and pray the wolf may pass our door.

Free speech must die.

The Beast never dies.

And thanks for proving my point; you ASSUME nobody is doing anything except you just because YOU don't know about it.

Too many lazy voters are impressed by his "war hero" status. In my book he lost that through his actions years ago

[ I think his FBI file has some very damaging stuff in it and that Hillary is pulling his strings. I don't think he has the stones to just quit--ambition overwhelms that, so there he is, in the dc 'Hilton', doing the same dance he did in Hanoi. ]

Exactly.. wonder if Hillary dont have some movie reels from her friends in Hanoi of Veitnam of John "servicing" the enemy in the Hanoi Hilton.. or being "used " in some mannar..

McLame (or should we call him "Luke Skywalker") has zero chance of making it past the first primary. Arizona FReepers should make sure he doesn't make it past his next Senate race.

The Arizona Republican Party does not listen to the grassroots, rank and file Republicans. The party leadership is beholden to the congressional delegation (which includes McCain) and the RNC. The grassroots was able to unseat a party player RINO, Mike Hellon, as national committeeman against much opposition from the party leadership and even from the dais at the state convention, but that's all we've been able to do so far. Going against McCain will be VERY unpopular with the state party apparatus. He receives 87% of his donations from out of state and can muster millions and millions of dollars for his next Senate race. Defeating that juggernaut is highly unlikely given the lay of the battlefield. However, there is talk of reinstating the Recall McCain effort to either get enough signatures for a recall vote or at least do him enough damage that his political survival is no longer ensured.

I was afraid that you had mellowed, but I see that you have expressed my feelings precisely. Thank you for your continued efforts.

If the Republican Party is stupid enough to give McCain the nomination for president, they could be opening the way for a Third Party Candidate (remember Perot) to give the presidency to Hillary. Only the Unbridaled Arrogance of the Republican Party can put Hillary in Office. The question is will they see the light in time?

Or will the Republicans need to experience the Minority side of the aisle to remember their Contract with America?

WOW Jim, tell us what you really think of this arrogant fellow who keeps riding his ex-POW status, unlike fellows like Sam Johnson who just does his best for his constituants. I too think we need to keep our eyes on this fellow, I don't trust him, although people in AZ have voted him into office many times. He doesn't ring true, no matter how his "Straight Talk Express" tries to show-case him.

It's OK for everyone else to have free speech but not the ordinary Joe.
They can call our President of the United States Hitler or anything else and they think that is OK. The Senators or Congressmen can attack our President and talk about impeachment and whatever else they can talk about. They can throw insults, lies (always lies) and claim this and that without any proof and we're supposed to take it without response?

They want to shut down tax the internet in order to shut down the networking the American public has found. It's an avenue whwere we can speak with one another, inform one another when something is going on and learn the truth...the REAL truth instead of listening to the "antique media" that is here today.

The ordinary citizen has to sit back and listen while some hollywood know it all can go on stage and say what they want without rebuttal from the ordiniary person. Well, with the advent of the internet (thanks, Al) that is all changed. We can speak our minds and voice OUR opinions the same as everyone else. It is our RIGHT. It is however a threat to all of those who would rather we sat back like sheeple and kept our mouths shut. There have been some vicious things said about our President and others that in my mind were treasonist and yet went unpunished. No way will they shut down free speech. The professors in the classrooms get away with their hate filled speech and so the American people will continue to do so. This is a snowball and it's rolling and it cannot...will not be stopped.

God bless Free Republic

McCain will NEVER get the GOP nomination; I've been saying that for months. In fact, I told that to a Senate staffer in January of 2005 face to face.

So your plan is to cross your fingers and hope really hard that McCain won't be the nominee. And in the meantime you're going to beat up on anyone who says that they won't vote for McCain IF he is the nominee. If you're so sure that he won't be the nominee, then why are you wasting your time and everyone else's in this and similar threads insisting that everyone vote for McCain if he is the nominee? Why get so worked up over people saying they won't vote for him and why do you keep throwing up the Hillary as President bugaboo to scare everyone? If he's not going to be the nominee, as you state, then you should just ignore threads like this.

During the 1996 Convention in San Diego, my friend and I went down to the main hotels to see who we would see! There was McCain, standing in the middle of the hallway at the hotel, just saying hi to people...Putting out his hand for people to meet. This was not his convention, mind you. It may sound nice, but it was out and out creepy. Really.

Okay. I'll plead ignorance. Howlin, what specifically are you doing or are you planning to do to undermine McCain? That is when you're not on Free Republic browbeating all of the posters who agree with the Founder of Free Republic in insisting that they won't vote for John McCain under any circumstances?

gidget7, I know Jeb Hensarling, personally, and if he's behind this I'm for it. He is a real, dyed in the wool, conservative Republican. He is a gem of a fellow to boot.

I came in here agreeing with and supporting Jim Robinson, the founder, owner, and operator of Free Republic. You came in here to play unelected party whip to dilute Jim's comments and keep the traditional party supporters in line just in case McCain does get coronated as the nominee. I don't know what "case" you're talking about, but if I was trying to prove my case as I just outlined, you're proving it over and over again.

Like I said, if you are so sure of your stated prediction that there is no way that McCain will get the nomination, then what the hell are you doing as one of the most prolific posters in this unprecedented thread wherein the founder of Free Republic threw down the gauntlet against that treasonous bastard John McCain.
