Now after serving six years on a Special Forces A-Team I have to go take six hours of instruction on how to handle a pistol.

In a logical world you would be able to get a waiver for your past experience.
Thanks for your service.

I suspect it has more to do with when to use it on stupid criminal civilians in such a way to avoid being tried for manslaughter than general firearms competence. But, that said, the more permits issued, the less crime. Hope they broadcast the numbers. I suspect that the crime rate in Nebraska will rise until they hash this whole issue out. Good luck!

Check with your local regs. All your qualifications from the service are from the Federal Govt.,which I believe supersede anything less. Not sure though.

You should move to the great state of VA, my man. Mil. Serv. exempts you from the saftey training.

I understand your frustration. In Florida a valid DD214 exempts you from the training requirement, as does an active duty military ID. Heck even a certificate from a hunter safety course will do here! Grin and bear it my FRiend. Do whatever it takes to get that permit. Thank you for your service.
