Then do not allow any cargo from that port in until they find someone mutually acceptable.

A Iranian sub (e.g.) could transfer a nuke onto a ship after it has reached the Bahamas and inspected by the Chinese company and headed to the USA.
The only way to have real national security is to inspect the ships as they arrive (or near to the coast) in the USA by US security forces (preferably the military).
Bush should spend far less money on global and domestic welfare and far more money on national security by US citizens and US companies.

The administration acknowledges the no-bid contract with Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. represents the first time a foreign company will be involved in running a sophisticated U.S. radiation detector at an overseas port without American customs agents present. Are they out of the F@#$ING MINDS up there in Washington??
General Joe Chinaman : Harrow? Is this Wong Wei of Hutchison Whampoa in Ros Angeres? Yes?
WonWei : Yes, it's me
General Joe Chinaman : You turn off your detecter tomowwow ok? We have ze special derivery for America zhen ok?

This story is all part of the MSM campaign to paint Republicans as weak on security. Until they accomplish that, Democrats can't regain control. Repeat the lines above 50 times! This is what is happening!

I'm convinced at least a third of the responses on any given thread are to the headline only. Why read when you can post post post! ;^)
To: Dog Gone
A lot of the knee jerk responders never read the article, especially if they think it is time for another Bush bash.

Hutchison Whampoa is the world's largest ports operator and among the industry's most-respected companies. It was an early adopter of U.S. anti-terror measures. But its billionaire chairman, Li Ka-Shing, also has substantial business ties to China's government that have raised U.S. concerns over the years. But but but the Chinese already run 30% of Kalifornia's cargo terminals. Where's the outcry?

Yes they do! I bought a T-Shirt there that says it all, "Another S*itty in Paradise". Even they KNOW!
Everytime I flew out of Nassau and had to pay a "departure tax", I always felt it was money well spent!

I guess the Republicans are just tired of running the government, because it's hard to believe that they could be this serious about shooting themselves in the feet unless it's deliberate.
Between the proposed amnesty for illegal aliens and this nonchalant attitude about port security, getting the grassroots out this year is not being made any easier.
To: puppypusher
What's going on with the Bush Administration? It's been successfully protecting our nation and prosecuting a global war on terror for nearly five years now. Why do you ask?

"I guess the Republicans are just tired of running the government, because it's hard to believe that they could be this serious about shooting themselves in the feet unless it's deliberate." Doesn't get any more deliberate. This goes all the way up to the National Commitee level and beyond.

Try reading the article and not the headline.
Oh wait, your tag line proves you would rather bash Bush and bash Republicans.

If the US asked the Bahamas not to sign a Chinese company, do you really think they'd say no?Is there a American Company to buy Hutchinson's terminal lease Or do they want to sell?
