SEATTLE -- The parents of a 23-year-old who was killed trying to prevent the demolition of an occupied Palestinian home have appealed a judge's decision to dismiss their lawsuit against Caterpiller Inc., the company that made the bulldozer that ran over her.
"He applied the wrong legal standard and ignored the facts," said Maria LaHood, a lawyer with the New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights.
Rachel Corrie was killed three years ago by an Israeli soldier driving a bulldozer. She was trying to stop him from demolishing a Gaza Strip home while the family was inside; though witnesses said she was clearly visible, the army claimed he didn't see her.

In the old days, a suspected witch was thrown into a pond. If she floated, she had magickal powers and would be killed. If she sank, she would be innocent (though drowned).
I suggest we test these bulldozers by having Rachel's parents lie down in front of them. If they end up flattened, then I would agree that they may have a point.

The "activist" mindset is one of delusion. I've yet to see a liberal "activist" that lived in reality.

Dopey mom - bring suit against the Israeli who drove it - not CAT. Then have it thrown out of Israeli court too.

Rachel Corrie was killed herself three years ago by standing in front of an Israeli soldier driving a bulldozer to demolish a terrorist safe house.

All these American girls who like to hang out with terrorists refuse to accept responsility for their actions. There is another terrorist-loving American jailed in Peru, IIRC.
Even sadder is the fact that the apple did not fall too far from the tree.

They're suing the wrong people!!
I suggest they sue whatever backwater "college" she supposedly attended for not teaching her to get the heck out of the way of heavy equipment coming in her direction. Of course, the college could just say they help ignorance, not innate stupidity.
Or - and this just might work - they could sue themselves for negligent parenting and hope to settle with their homeowners' policy.
If they lose, will they be "flat" broke?

Whatever it was that her parents smoked in college back in '68, it must have been mighty potent to still have effects on their brains 30-plus years later! Probably have their Volvo covered with "Ban bulldozers" and "Bulldozers kill people" bumper stickers.

Actually, she got run over sitting in the middle of nowhere while a contractor drove a bulldozer trying to dig up underground tunnels, while the israeli army people who would have been able to see her and stop the bulldozer were pinned down in their tanks by Palistinian sniper fire which oddly didn't try to shoot her.
The house they supposedly were "knocking down" was still standing a year later.
To: oxcart
God I love the Rachel Corrie threads! Lets never miss the opportunity to mock the nitwit that thought she could take on a bulldozer. Lets continue to disparage the memory of the terrorist loving moron from Evergreen that hated America and Israel and gave aid and comfort to the enemies of both. Hope she's rotting in hell!

Let me get this straight. She threw herself in front of a moving bulldozer, was killed and it is the bulldozer manufacturers fault.
Maybe her parents should have taught her some common sense and logic starting with never throw yourself in front of a moving vehicle or piece of equipment.

Thanks for that clarification. I always wondered why none of

Our own little dummy! Face contorted with rage (or pain from getting her little fingers burned while buring a drawn copy of our flag) while the kids around her look on with amusement, trying to look intelligent in the photo shown on a prior post, the K-Mart portrait that Arafat presented the dummy parents -- it just goes on and on. She's our little pet.
