CBS) HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. Some 150 Huntington Park High School students left their classrooms and are marching east along Firestone Boulevard in South Gate to protest an immigration bill due before Congress on Monday.
About 9 a.m., students walked out of the school in the 6000 block of Miles Avenue.
Fridays march comes a day before a larger rally planned in L.A. tomorrow, when immigrant-rights groups will gather to protest the legislation of HR 4427.
The bill seeks to build more walls along the U.S.-Mexico border and make helping illegal immigrants a criminal offense.
Opponents of the measure have called it racist and said it would penalize legal immigrants for associating with "illegals."
Protests also in Phoenix. The students have taken over the streets, no permits, etc., waving Mexican flags. See the video in the link.
Reporters are giving sympathetic interviews, giving their anti-H.R. 4437 propaganda a voice.
Awwww, bless their little indoctrinated hearts.
I guess ignorance is bliss.
Doesn't it just warm the heart to see that the illegals are so unabashed about their status that they feel no threat whatsoever while protesting in our streets?
Gosh it's great. Thanks Jorge and our worthless politicians!
"immigrant-rights groups "
A typo. It is supposed to read "illegal-immigrants rights groups. "
Fox just flashed on a scene where about 50 kids were mobbing a local store! Not sure if it was Phoenix or California.
Developing...
Students and others have taken to the streets in south Los Angeles, waving Mexican flags, in "protest" of H.R. 4437, the Sensenbrenner immigration bill.
Will we fight for it?
anything to not have to go to class.
some things never change.
Yeah, sure, they all just got up and left the class rooms.
Their "teachers" probably wrote the protest signs for them.
I saw that too. It was CA.
Didn't Rep. Sensenbrenner already concede the provision bumping up the "civil" offense to a felony will be taken out?
The illegal aliens and the criminals who hire them and the criminals who harbor them are getting out in the street making their desires known. It is way past time those of us who support the rule of law and secure borders did the same.
Join Veterans for Secure Borders, The Minuteman Project, Latino Americans for Immigration Reform, Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, and other groups protesting amnesty for these criminals, and demanding the government protect our borders.

FReepers should be at this rally in strength.
The students don't care one way or the other. It's just another excuse to get out of class. When I was in high school, kids came up with bogus causes all the time in order to have an excuse to skip. Funerals were also a favorite----anytime a student committed suicide because they had no friends, suddenly e every kid in the school was their friend, skipping class on the day of the funeral.
Call INS/ICE
I'm sorry! I should have stated that the large protest, ~10,000 was downtown Phoenix.
Figures...
Their teachers probably encouraged them to march.
That's called a RIOT! Get the Water Cannon!
Are priests who give Holy Communion to illegal aliens "harboring" them?
CW2 self ping
Doesn't this qualify as some kind of "act of war"?
Is that LA or Phoenix?
I know I'm picky, but they could put the date and other pertinent info in larger type.
:)
LAPD air units are checking out all the High schools across the city.
Heehee, didn't take long to get bumped out of breaking news and off the sidebar entirely!
They can give them communion, if they want. When they help them avoid the police or help them find a criminal employer who will hire them, or help them in numerous other ways, they are harboring the criminals. They are also joining a criminal conspiracy to break federal law.
Priests are not above the law in this country.
Ping your people, because this topic is not n the sidebar.

Huntington Park High School students walk out to protest HR 4427
I agree that "Priests are not above the law in this country." Just trying to see what you would outlaw. How about "one hot meal" to an illegal alien?
hey could put the date and other pertinent info in larger type.

Good idea.
but..but..but...aren't these the people whom our exalted leader refers to when he says "they're hiding in the shadows"? I'm soooooo confused... does this mean that he's been LYING to us? Gosh!
sw
Here I am fighting for Free Republic to maintain freedom of speech and a development like this is taken off the sidebar.
Anybody get the impression that the days for the rest of us to blissfully ignore this situation, blandly go off to work, and provide these criminals with the government money that underwrites their invasion of our country are rapidly coming to an end?
Another "spontaneous" protest by the student collective. All hail the Motherland! Where have we seen this before???? Think any fifth columnists stirred the pot?
Thank you for taking it in a good spirit. Like I said, it's that picky streak I have.
How about "one hot meal" to an illegal alien?
###
Sure at the police station after he's processed and in a cell he should get the same meal as the other criminals.
Sounds like there are several marches going on.....Whittier and Indiana.....and another down Slauson somewhere.
Please, when I was in high school, didn't matter the reason, if it meant kids got out of class, you could get 90% of the student body out of the school for any "protest" whatsoever....
Yes, those days have ended.
We must fight.
No, I'm talking about the Church serving an illegal alien "one hot meal" at Church?
Doesn't it just warm the heart to see that the illegals are so unabashed about their status that they feel no threat whatsoever while protesting in our streets?
I suspect most of these clowns are US born high school students playing hooky.
Exactly.

"I agree that "Priests are not above the law in this country." Just trying to see what you would outlaw. How about "one hot meal" to an illegal alien?"
Nice try at disruption FROBL. Why don't you share with us your real reasons for supporting the hostile takeover of the U.S.?
Why would these students be upset about Thompson's bill "To direct the Secretary of Homeland Security to establish a database of small businesses for purposes of consultation by Federal agencies prior to awarding contracts relating to declared emergencies"? Did you mean to refer to HR 4437?
Isn't it cute how the newspeople got the number of the bill wrong? Or, maybe the students and their "teachers" did. Haha.
