I like cruise in risky business and Mission impossible.To be honest, if you put Tom Cruise in the right role, he is actually pretty good. In addition to the movies you have mentioned, I also liked Tom Cruise in the War Between the Worlds. In that movie, he was a "blue collar crane operator" and that was a perfect fit for him, IMHO.
