I do. It's simple. Every time an illegal is detected by the system, he/she is prosecuted, punished, and deported. One at a time. Every time. Every speeding ticket. Every domestic violence call or disturbing the peace call to the police. Every time a citizen turns in the local mexican restaurant for the ten cots and bundle of phoney SS cards it has in its back room.
There is no need for some dramatic roundup or draconian neighborhood sweep. Just carry out the law in the ordinary course of events. Not every one will get caught, but so what. We don't catch all the drunk drivers or burglers or rapists or murderers either. But that's no reason to give up on law enforcement is it.
There is a demographic shift underway. With or without the illegals, hispanics will become a large componant of the US population.
I have no problem if hispanics legally become a larger section of the population.
The only thing I will say about that is this: they have to assimilate into our culture and not attempt to make this country an extension of Mexio or other parts of latin America.
If this is not enforced then we have a much larger shift than simple demographics. Indeed the shift would consist of, at least in part, the end of this nation.
You are overly dramatic.
When there was a couple million illegals here some folks said that it was going to get alot worse. Many ignored the folks that claimed doing nothing would lead to where we are today.
They were also said to be overly dramatic.
Look at this nation now.
One would think that Illinois would be among the farthest from the center of this issue. That is simply not the case as we are among the top four states as to levels of illegal population.
This central midwest state has been transformed into a borderstate of the past. It is only going to get worse until people actually take a stand against what is happening to this country.
Call me overdramamtic if you like, but notice we had school walkouts in downstate Illinois (not anywhere near Chicago).
That's all covered in #102
Gee Dane, I wonder how much the pro illegal politicians are getting from special interest groups? Tancredo is on the wrong side of this issue for monetary gains, dontcha think?
I don't sweat the small stuff. Cool, calm, and composed.
