Tancredo Statement on Immigration Bill
http://tancredo.house.gov/press/PRArticle.aspx?NewsID=1170 ^

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO), Chairman of the 94-member House Immigration Reform Caucus, issued the following statement today on immigration matters:

“The immigration rallies over this weekend and today show how disordered our immigration system has become. For years, the government has turned a blind eye to illegal aliens who break into this country. It isn’t any wonder that illegal aliens now act as if they are entitled to the rights and privileges of citizenship.

“The McCain-Kennedy-Specter bill that came out of the Judiciary Committee today provides nearly universal amnesty for the more than 12 million illegal aliens in the U.S. The bill also adds hundreds of thousands of foreign workers to a background check system that is already on the brink of collapse. The Judiciary Committee even adopted Durbin’s amendment, which reduces penalties so that visa overstays will continue to undermine our immigration system.

“If the Senate follows the Judiciary Committee’s lead, the prospects of getting a reform bill to the President’s desk this year are slim, to say the least. No plan with amnesty and a massive increase in foreign workers will pass the House. Amnesty and foreign workers are fundamentally incompatible with the House’s approach and, according to every recent poll, they are not what Americans want. Americans want enforcement first, and disagreement over foreign workers should not prevent us from securing our borders.”

Dane does Kyl/ cornin allow illegals to stay here and become legal magically without them doing anything? Newsflash man, the people are rejecting that idea.

I hear you. And I can see exactly what you're talking about:

"Tonight on CNN, Mexican undocumented workers' children. Abandoned." And given our media propensity to spin everything to the LIE side, most folks would buckle and say, "Awww, let them stay."

It would do well to hit the demand side of this by hitting those who hire these invaders. Enough crippling fines and they would get the message. Can't be "wrist-slapping" fines; no, no. It's gotta be something heavy, like 500,000 dollars PER ILLEGAL working for them.

And build a wall with a moat filled with crocodiles and alligators. Okay. Maybe not the diles and gators. How about piranhas?

A perfect storm is brewing. Every great once in awhile a sequence of events occur where tensions build and build before finally erupting like a volcano. Will it be a civil war between citizens and illegal "residents"?? Terrorists from the Southern border?? U.S. city blown up?? Only when faced with that kind of a situation will the U.S. really get it right. Then again, 9/11 showed it may already be too late.
Time will tell but hopefully it won't be after the U.S. has lost itself completely.

Tancredo.

The name you hate so much.

Makes you go crazy evry time you read it.

Tancredo says he will run for the United States Senate if Wayne Allard doesn't run again in 08. That ought to give you nightmares there Dane. Senator Tancredo. LOL!!

Chew on that one a while there Dane. I live in the district and I think he would win. I have a vote, you don't.

Passive Agressive invasion works well....but only against westerners raised with Christian views of compassion... Ghandi would have had no chance against the Soviets or Chinese in his day...and even during Vietnam the VC loved to pull ambushes from inside orphanages, schools or hospitals...and kept photographers handy...The Muslims also know the value of such propaganda this lesson has not been lost on the leftist media in America either...

Hillary's cries of "Do it for the sake of the Children" work on the emotions of the rubes...La Raza,Aztlan,MeCHA,the Marxists, all know how to conquer America...using women and children as shields to (for now verbally) snipe from behind...and anchor babies..

No one in America wants to be called cruel to helpless poor children...no matter what their parents agenda might be or what it will cost their own children and grandchildren...

The haters of the America of our founders have shown they will stop at nothing to run their agenda through...they care nothing for 'we the people' or our children or grandchildren.

What to do when the 'Camp of the Saints' is actually sponsored by your own 'elected' officials?

imo

You know, I wondered about the possibility of introducing Nile crocodiles into the Rio Grand; I think the problem is that at certain times of the year, there is not enough water in the river to support a decent croc population. Unfortunately, that leaves only a 300 yard wide mine field on the US side - with appropriate warning signs in six languages, of course.

The Rio Grande often does not even make it all the way to the Gulf.

I don't think it is a matter of guts - it think those Senators are corrupt, traitors, and/or mentally unbalanced.

The United States Senate is a disgrace, they have come to believe they know better than we the unwashed, it has become a stable very badly in need of cleaning, the majority of the inhabitants are cowards and need to get real jobs, ESPECIALY McCain, Kennedy, Bidden, Boxer, Schumer, Clinton and Harry "the Putz" Reid.

They run like 12 year old school girls at the first sign of trouble, hey Poncho, you don't like our laws, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

"The only people he pleases is the cheap labor business lobby. Hope he likes basking in their warm glow."

I'm honestly starting to wonder if he hasn't been offered an enormous amount of money if he gets amnesty through Congress and into law...
