If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

Ooops, tamper-PROOF ID? I will readily agree that a biometric card can be pretty tamper resistant. McCain is right about that. But anyone with computer skills knows that what one party's security can create, can be defeated by someone else given sufficient time, resources and genius. Maybe you can't compromise the biometric info on the card, but if you get access to the computers that create the cards....John McCain, don't BS a BSer.

We are no longer the land of open arms.

We have made laws that regulate, wisely, how many of any origin we allow to immigrate per year.

It isn't the 1890's anymore.

Vicente Fox Needs a Lesson in Civility

Earlier this week, President Bush urged that the debate on illegal immigration be conducted in a “civil and dignified” manner. I agree. And perhaps no one needs to hear that admonition more than Mexican President Vicente Fox, with whom President Bush is now meeting. President Fox has made it clear that he has nothing but contempt for our laws and our people. And his remarks have been anything but civil or dignified.

If she's saying the same things when she comes back to the US, then I'll be skeptical too. But I just feel like while she's in Iraq, she probably wouldn't want to say anything too derogatory to other Iraqis.

I'll wait .. but I don't think she'll change her tune

Sometime Saturday night, according to Chasewood North Community Board member Sue Miller, someone put a Mexican flag, like the one above left, on the complex's flagpole.

I will take your advice and hold my opinion till she gets back in the states, but if she goes off on the military or our war on terror policies, then all bets are off! She is then fair game!

BTW...glad you still hang out with us!

Oh, the poor illegals are vulnerable to abuse. I am not buying what McCain is selling here.

Then stay home and don't get into that situtation

He is just like the worst of the dems, i.e., only cares about votes and not at all interested in what is truly best for the country.

THIS COUNTRY???

How about his own constituents? Do you think the people of Arizona want this? HECK NO!

We have a pretty big illegal Irish population in Atlanta too. Go figure.

I lived in NYC in the late 80's. I could tell you of a certain Irish bar on 2nd Avenue where you could walk in an unemployed Irish illegal alien and walk out fully employed, papers in hand and an apartment to boot!

"I think Canada realizes illegals negatively impact their social programs. You cannot get landed immigrant status in Canada unless you can prove you can support yourself and won't wind up on social services."

I remember reading a year or 2 ago that Canada would take any aliens in who said they were seeking asylum and didn't do background checks. This was a concern for us as they could then easily come across our border.

BTW - while you were talking about illegals, don't we have a law on the books, or IIRC we used to have one anyway, that says that a legal alien must have a sponsor and show that they can support themselves?

Thanks. I wrote before I heard you ask the question. Don't know how you interview people and read these posts at the same time. Talk about multi-tasking. Whew.

BTW, do we think he will introduce a bill on English being the official language in our life time?

On the social welfare component, absolutely. Our problem is our Immigration law is an accretion (like an archaeological dig) of so many conflicting policies over the years about this topic that the incompetent BICE people are just ripe for political manipulation as the Clintoons did. One of the things that would be useful if the Brownback-McCain-Kennedy legislation hits the floor, is that if you could vote on cutting off social services to illegals (except for very limited emergency services), you could start to get a handle on this problem as well as the budget problem. One of the good parts about their legislation is that they ARE trying to take a somewhat comprehensive look at the policy. BUT--I say again, if no one does BICE reform, nothing will change. The policies CREATE as many illegals as illegals sneak over. I REALLY like the TONY SNOW plan. I think it's the best one out there. It combines the Judiciary Committee legislation with an AMERICAN First outlook. If we do that, we will have made a good start.

Ask Johnny-boy about a comment ED Hill made on F&F this a.m. - They keep talking about 'doing the job that no Americans wants to do"

E.D. made a good point about knocking out the middle class/small business owners
