"Clocky"

A graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology may have helped solve the problem of oversleeping. For an industrial design course, 26-year-old Gauri Nanda created "Clocky," a foam-covered alarm clock with wheels, which runs away and hides before you can hit the snooze bar. A circuit board instructs small motors to move randomly so that the clock ends up in a new place every day. Before you can turn it off, you have to get out of bed and find it.
We say that "time flies," but a wise person observed that "time stays and we fly." Whether we rise early or stay in bed, we are being carried along by the mysterious force called time.
Each day, a fresh awareness of life's brevity can encourage our trust in God. The psalmist wrote: "Lord, make me to know my end, and what is the measure of my days, that I may know how frail I am. . . . Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. . . . And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You" (Psalm 39:4-5,7).
What do we need to accomplish today? Perhaps we need to begin an essential task, address a lingering issue, or work to restore a valuable relationship before we fall asleep and need to be awakened again.

A spokesman for her group was on F&F this morning - very negative about Iraq. Then they had Bill Hemmer (sp?) on about his trip - he said he saw ONE other reporter (San Fran paper) while he was in Fallujah. He said the guys would love to see more reporters. He was surprised there were no limits, except for security, on where he went, what he saw, what he reported. In all, he was much more positive, altho he said it was not a short fight.
Wonderful. Now I won't be able to eat breakfast. The man is certifiable.
Don't know the meaning of the word! They've been catered to their whole lives with the "English-as-second-language" pap they've been handed at schools and keeping separate holidays, and all that keeps them from being assimilated!

A statement attributed to McKinney has been released on the Internet, where she allegedly claims to have been harassed by Capitol Hill Police.
The statement's writer says that she has been harassed by white police officers she says do not recognize her due to her recently changed hairstyle.
"Do I have to contact the police every time I change my hairstyle? How do we account for the fact that when I wore my braids every day for 11 years, I still faced this problem, primarily from certain white police officers," the statement says.
The writer details the incident, saying, "I was rushing to my meeting when a white police officer yelled to me. He approached me, bodyblocked me, physically touching me. I used my arm to get him off of me. I told him not to touch me several times. He asked for my ID and I showed it to him. He then let me go and I proceeded to my meeting and I assume that the Police Officer resumed his duties. I have counseled with the Sergeant-at-Arms and Acting Assistant Chief Thompson several times before and counseled with them again on today's incident. I offered also to counsel with the offending police officer."

I'm skeptical as heck. For her not to have expressed her outrage at the death of her interpreter tells me something. Stockholm syndrome is such a convenient excuse. If it isn't what it appears to be (and I don't think it is), it is either something she may have helped engineer for terrorist propaganda ("My life with the jihadists"), or hopefully she's an intelligence plant to find out where the bad guys are. My opinion is that there's something not right with this lady.
