But, I am told an "independent Kosovo" is going to happen within the next few months, unless we stop it.

It is amazing to me that the Internationals-- especially the Europeans -- can know that Kosovo has become a hub for al Qaeda (the Semtex used in the London and Madrid bombings came from there & they know it); it is a route for all the sex slavery and narcotics in Western Europe -- and still they are going to grant it "independence"!

This "independence" move is also going to sign the death warrants to all the remaining Serbs in Kosovo -- mostly old people, priests and nuns -- and no one seems to give a damn!

So much for our "humanitarian" instincts --this time we will be the "ethnic cleansers" -- and to our detriment!

Song on the loss of Kosovo by American Serb Ben Vukicevich. http://iacmusic.com/songs.aspx?SongID=14758&ArtistID=17064

It's about a Serb living in Kosovo talking to UN Envoy Marti Ahtisaari. I love
the hook he has in there.."you get a fix from the hole in our soul." because
Kosovo is the soul of Serbian Orthodoxy

Serb hopes of own entity in Kosovo dashed

By Matthew Robinson

PRISTINA, Serbia and Montenegro (Reuters) - The United Nations on Thursday dashed Serb hopes of their own "entity" in Kosovo and issued a stark response to those threatening to leave if the Albanian majority wins independence.

"When told me they couldn't live in an independent Kosovo, if this is the outcome of the status process, I told them: This is your decision, we cannot force you to stay," Albert Rohan, the deputy U.N. envoy in negotiations on Kosovo's fate, told reporters in the capital Pristina.

The Austrian diplomat, who on Wednesday visited Serbs in the north, outlined an initial proposal for Kosovo's future governing structure, the fruit of the first two rounds of Serb-Albanian talks in Vienna.

He ruled out any form of separate entity or autonomy for the 100,000 remaining Serbs, as demanded by Belgrade:

"We made it clear that this does not mean and cannot mean the creation of a separate entity," he said.

"We oppose any internal division of Kosovo and we oppose any third layer of government between the central authority and the municipalities."

Rohan is deputy to U.N. envoy Martti Ahtisaari, who is leading negotiations on the fate of the disputed Serbian province, run by the United Nations since the 1998-99 war.

Western powers have made increasingly clear they see independence as the only realistic outcome. Kosovo's two million Albanians, 90 percent of the population, have long demanded their own state and have run their affairs since 1999.

But the Serb-dominated north has resisted U.N. efforts to reintegrate it with the rest of Kosovo, threatening the province with de facto partition.

SPLIT IN TWO

Serbia lost control of Kosovo -- its "Jerusalem" -- when NATO bombs drove out Serb forces accused of atrocities against Albanian civilians in a 2-year war with separatist guerrillas, the culmination of a decade of Serb repression.

Half the Serb population fled a wave of revenge attacks. Those who stayed eke out a grim existence on the margins of society, cocooned in a Belgrade-run world of "parallel structures" outside Kosovo's Albanian-dominated institutions.

The leaders of three mainly Serb municipalities in the north, which enjoy a natural land link to central Serbia, warned on Wednesday that Kosovo would be split in two if the U.N. Security Council grants independence later this year.

Many Serbs living in scattered enclaves across the rest of Kosovo say they will pack their bags and leave.

But partition, with implications of forced population movements, is a taboo concept in the West.

Rohan argued that the plan for decentralisation, the core of negotiations that began last month in Vienna, should provide the Serbs with enough local powers to convince them to stay.

The document allows for cooperation between Serb areas within Kosovo and financial donations from Belgrade.

"What we can do is to provide conditions where objectively we can expect the Serbs to stay and to come back," said Rohan, ahead of the next round of talks on April 3. "Whether they want to stay, to return, to leave, is their decision."

These Serb Christians have no choice but to leave. Because if this http://kosovo.com/news/archive/2005/March_17/1.html is what was allowed to happen right under the noses of an armed International Force, then what will happen when that Force is gone? A complete ethnice cleansing by the Muslim Albanians of all non-Alabanians!

".. dismantle the welfare state and stop the perversion of the 14th Amendment by judges..."

Won't happen. I was driving home from the library today watching all the Illegals crowding the streets and I got to thinking. They come here and take minimum wage jobs, bring their families up, get housing assistance, WIC, medical care and they don't pay a dime for it. They're stealing from the taxpayers directly and are busy pumping out another generation of leeches. We can't win like this. It's in the governments interest to continue the gravy train because it provides jobs for bureaucrats and power for politicians. We are well and truly slaves to the government.

Oh, I see a pattern here!!

The USA fights terrorism in one place and gives it a BIG hand-up, someplace else.

THING IS... THE TERRORISTS THEY HELP ARE ALWAYS KILLING AND DISPLACING CHRISTIANS!! Like in Bosnia and KOSOVO!

The Serbs could drive the albanians into the sea in two weeks. Serb patriots should be stocking up just as American patriots should be doing.

I agree that would be a great idea.

However, the UN and NATO went through Serbian homes with fine tooth combs in Kosovo and disarmed them. Even took their hunting rifles, I read on FR a few years back.

Why I read the soldiers even tore up Altars in the Serbian Orthodox Churches in Kosovo, manhandled the nuns, priests and monks in attempts to find ANY weapons.

NATO/UN FOUND ZERO!! NUTHIN'

“One of the largest, boldest banners visible from aerial shots of the rally read: 'THIS IS STOLEN LAND'

Yes, and the Mexicans took it from the Indians who took it from the Dinosaurs. So what's the problem ?

An outrageous injustice has been done to reporter Sherrie Gossett!

CNS Reporter Sherry Gossett was abruptly fired -- not for "bad reporting" but rather for the controversy that her article Former NY Times Reporter: '93 Pulitzer Should Be Revoked http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewSpecialReports.asp?Page=%5CSpecialReports%5Carchive%5C200603%5CSPE20060322a.html has created within the journalistic and government community!

This article "angered a government official", so Sherry lost her job! By firing Sherry, both our government and the journalistic community are telling her and us that they will not be questioned -- that they are beyond being questioned!

George Orwell created a vision of a "Big Brother", an all-seeing, all-controlling government and media in his novel "1984". Well, folks, "1984" is happening in 2006!

When we are no longer afforded a truly free press, when we are no longer allowed to read dissenting views, or present dissenting views without fear of reprisals, then WE ARE NO LONGER A FREE PEOPLE!

This cannot go unanswered! Here is the toll-free phone number listed for CNS News: 877-CNS-NEWS. Call them and voice your opinion on the firing of Sherry Gossett. Every moment you stay on the line, you costs them money and Sherry deserves our support!

Nobody needs to bomb us. The UN, Organization of American States, other t*rd world organizations, and possibly an Islamized EU could just boycott our good ands refuse to sell us oil. We could be strangled economically such that we would just hand over the SW and any other piece of territory Mexico says is part of its cr@phole of a Motherland. Which is why we all need to learn what we can about alternative energy sources and demand the government get behind a policy of energy independence.

But what kind of hypocrites do we look like to the world when we demand one thing for ourselves, but something else from another country in the same circumstance?

Uh, Bokababe, the situations are not comparable. The Serbs under Milosevic changed their constitution and took away self-rule in Kosovo--the equivalent of what we have at the state level, removed Albanian mayors & judges & police and replaced them with Serbs--often from outside the province, shut down Albanian language newspapers, fired Albanian workers & again put Serbs in their places, arbitrarily imprisoned Albanian political leaders and protestors for years at a time, and closed Albanian schools & fired Albanian teachers.

Then when some of the Albanians had enough and began fighting back, the Serbs predictably over-reacted with their typical (if you paid attention to Bosnia and Croatia) burning of villages and disregard for civilian casualties. Also, predictably, the heavy-handed Serb tactics turned a minor insurgency into a full-blown, popularly supported war of liberation.

When the US government removes legitimately elected and appointed Hispanic officials, when our soldiers surround Hispanic populated villages in California and fire tank rounds into them, when we change our Constitution to emplace direct federal rule over Arizona and New Mexico, then you can start comparing how Serbia treated Kosovo with the USA.

Before the NATO Bombing, dead on all sides in Kosovo, including the soldiers on both sides, never exceeded a few thousand.

And you do not consider that the Clinton strong-arming countries for a 78 day bombing of Yugoslavia, spending billions to do it, "an overeaction"?

We invaded a sovereign country! And now, to justify it, we are about to dismember it to give away Kosovo to friends of bin Laden, narco-terrorist sex-slavery pushing Albanian Mafia -- creating a new Muslim country in Europe!
Want to tell me how that is in the US' "best interests"?
It isn't. We got boondoggled and we are trying to cover it up, slitting our own throat to do it!

Anyone who thinks this is over, is foolish. First Kosovo, then a piece of Macedonia, then more of Serbia and Montenegro to connect them to Muslim Bosnia, then a piece of Greece -- a perfect place from which to launch Jihad on Europe!

Actually less, about 2,000.

And you do not consider that the Clinton strong-arming countries for a 78 day bombing of Yugoslavia, spending billions to do it, "an overeaction"?

All the countries in NATO from Greece & Turkey to Iceland and Canada voted unanimously for the use of force three times, twice in 1998 and the last time in 1999--didn't take much "strong-arming." They all had seen what happened at Srebrenica and understood the costs of not acting early to stop Serbian ethnic cleansing. Having said that, I still think we could have negotiated a better solution than bombing--but the story of how the Clinton Administration bungled Rambouillet is pretty well known.

As for Kosovo as "a new Muslim country in Europe", enough already with the Serb propaganda! Albanian Catholic churches were damaged during the war also, but the people doing the damage were Serb soldiers and paramilitaries--does that mean that the Serbs are jihadists? or anti-Christian?

The conflict was a fight for liberty by the Kosovo Albanians that was rooted in long-term nationalistic antagonisms between Serbs and Albanians. BTW, here's a photo from last year of the elected Christian President of Kosovo helping lay the cornerstone for a Christian cathedral in Kosovo:

Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova lays the foundation stone for the Mother Teresa Cathedral in Pristina on Friday (26 August). The cathedral marks the 95th anniversary of Mother Teresa’s birth. Rugova was joined by Kosovo Diocese head Father Mark Sopi and Washington Cardinal Theodore McCarrick. [Laura Hasani]

Enough already with the Albanian propaganda! The jig is up, Mark -- people are waking up to the real world now.

Over 90% of Kosovo Albanians are Muslim, period -- and not one respectable source denies that. Only about 60,000 in an area of 2,000,000 are Roman Catholic and there are some Albanian Orthodox -- but that does not change the 90+% Muslim number, which makes the statement "a new Muslim country in Europe" quite accurate.

Re "strong-arming NATO allies to bomb Serbia". I was in Greece right after the NATO Bombing and was repeatedly told wherever we went that Greeks were protesting in the streets against the NATO Bombing of Serbia-- until Madeline Albright threatened to have a State Department "warning" recommending "against travel to Greece". Greece's economy is based almost completely on tourism and such a "State Department warning" could have collapsed the entire economy of Greece, so they gave in and gave up -- but not without passively sabotaging NATO forces wherever they could. Friends in Italy told the same story of riots and protests, but the media virtually ignored it. That is "strong-arming", no matter how you package it.

Muslim objections to erecting the statue -- until they realized its PR value. Now she is even on stamps! http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1605980/posts
