Here's a note to you bloggers--especially the suddenly blind conservative ones--who want Jill Carroll to be what she is not. Please read it VERY CAREFULLY and S-L-O-W-L-Y, as some of you seem to have premature articulation and reading comprehension problems (that includes National Review Online's Jim Geraghty a/k/a "Jimmy Carter Geraghty," so nicknamed for his apparent propensity to ignore truths about pro-Islamists when they are right in his face):
Over the last few months, since Jill Carroll was kidnapped and upon her release, I posted her REAL views They remain her views, and she has NOT denied or disavowed them. I never once cited a video that was made in captivity, as others did and as others are now claiming I owe an apology for. I do not. They owe me an apology for projecting the video onto my work. And for pretending to be able to read, when clearly they cannot.
The facts remain the same, as do the unfortunate, continuing plagues of blindness, deafness, and dumbness that have struck all of those who have some bizarre fantasy about their new unworthy heroine, a far-left "journalist," Jill Carroll.
Facts Are Stubborn Things: Jill Carroll's Extremist Friends, Views NOT Refuted
Jill Carroll was a close friend of the late Code Pinko Marla Ruzicka a/k/a "Treasonatrix Barbie." Ruzicka's group helped raise money for Islamic insurgents in Fallujah who burnt our contractors to a crisp. They also raised money for Palestinian terrorists in Gaza and the West Bank. You can tell a lot about a person by the company she keeps. And that was with whom Jill Carroll kept company.
Then, there's Jill Carroll's former employer, the anti-Semitic, anti-American Jordan Times (for whom she CHOSE to work), long ago made the following statement about her (which, to date, she has NEVER contradicted or disavowed):
The kidnappers who abducted her could not have chosen a more wrong target. True, Jill is a US citizen. But she is also more critical of US policies towards the Middle East than many Arabs. . . . Jill has been from day one opposed to the war, to the invasion and occupation of Iraq.
More than just being sympathetic with average Iraqis under war and occupation, Jill is a true believer in Arab causes.
From Arabic food to the Arabic language, Jill has always wanted to know and experience as much as possible about Arab identity, and she is keen on absorbing it, learning, understanding and respecting it.
She doesn't just "like" Arab culture, she loves it. . . . It is simply unconscionable for any Arab to want to harm a person like her.
Again, neither of these things has anything to do with the video Jill Carroll made. Nada. Zippo. And yet, Jill Carroll has not provided any evidence to the contrary. Because there is none. Facts are stubborn things.
It's a shame I've had to post this THREE times, and yet it still doesn't sink in for quite a few of you. It's not rocket science, people.
Then, there are the radical U.S.-based Islamist groups I wrote about, which spent a ton of time, effort, and resources to get Jill Carroll released. They are groups like LIFE for Relief and Development (which gave millions to HAMAS and is believed to be funding Iraqi insurgents), HAMAS-front group CAIR, and the rabidly anti-Semitic, pro-HAMAS/Hezbollah Congress of Arab American Organizations and American Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.
These groups were nowhere to be seen for the following U.S. hostages, some of whom have since been murdered, but some of whom remain alive: Tom Fox, Ronald Schulz, Jack Hensley, Eugene (Jack) Armstrong, Nicholas Berg, Jeffrey Ake, Sadeq Mohammed Sadeq, Aban Elias, and Keith Maupin.
Not a peep out of the American Islamist groups for them, even the two Arab-American ones (Sadeq and Elias).
So ask yourself--ye blind worshippers of Jill Carroll--why did these rabidly Islamist groups in the U.S. go out on a limb for Jill Carroll, and no-one else? So, Jimmy Carter Geraghty and others, I'm waiting for your answer. But I know one will never be forthcoming. (As for Jim, his e-mail address indicates he's in Turkey, so perhaps he, too, like Jill Carroll is writing "in captivity," or perhaps he's seen "Kurtlar Vadisi - Irak" one too many times.)
To sum up, I never cited the video, but I did cite these 3 heretofore unrebutted facts (her recanting of the video notwithstanding):
1) Jill Carroll worked, by her choice, for an Islamist newspaper that said she shares its anti-American, anti-Israel views (no reason to doubt that, she worked for them by her choice);
2) Jill Carroll was close friends with an American who worked for Code Pink (funding and helping terrorists);
3) Jill Carroll was unique among ALL American hostages in Iraq in getting the mammoth effort by U.S. Islamist groups (all of whom support terrorists and oppose the war in Iraq) to secure her release. They know what she stands for.
And it should be obvious to you, too.
As for any calls for an apology, the apology is owed to ME by all the premature articulators out there who didn't read closely and falsely claimed I cited the video. I did not.
Jill Carroll's views and Islamist, terror-supporting friends in the U.S. remain the same. Time for all of you to get LASIK so you finally see it.

I watched her video one time on the news and looked at my wife and told her....she is as cool as a cucumber and reading off a script...probably one she wrote because the english was written for AMERICANS to listen to.
She thought I was kidding.
She looks like she is professing something....not begging for her life.
I can only hope O'reilly has the balls to get on top of this story and put the pressure on her and the forces complicit in her release.

I won't speak for anybody else at FR but you certainly won't find any posts from me on any previous "Jill Carroll" threads. I always took her "abduction" for a joke and cared about Jill Carroll about as much as I cared about that other scumbag "journalist" who was abducted (the Italian one - - Sgrena(?)).
As far as Debbie and her way-too-defensive screed posted above, I would recommend she keep a little post-it on her desk with the old Chinese proverb: "Only a fool argues with a fool."

I need to find the video on a talk show when she was first snatched; her mother said she's there to help you and has been getting your views out, she dressed like you and hung out with your people... (I said to myself... odd).
Then later, when they let her father speak... he sounded like someone who was distressed and wanted his daughter back... no spin. They were polar opposites.
Right then and there I emailed Jawa and a few others... they got the video and said it's not right. I emailed Rush and asked if he saw it... if not get it (no views expressed either way); He came on and stated something was not right.
During the time her folks were speaking... they were showing in the background Jill in muslim dress with the locals and a clip of her reporting previously.
I just got back from D.C. and missed all the weekend news... my friend told me she was taken by military transport (I was told she didn't and would not be debriefed previously). When I catch up, will post on this thread.

I turned FOX off this morning after the first "NEWS ALERT" that her freakn plane was about to land in Boston. I remembered all her rhetoric before she was uh kidnapped. She was a champion of the anti-war crowd. And now the media wants to proclaim her as a returning hero? That said, I am glad she was not beheaded but I believe she will be making the rounds of the talk shows while her story is still hot and I think she will have the same axe to grind as she did before the uh kidnapping.
Many like me, who complained about the premature judgment of Jill, did so not because they knew she was a true blue American, she may not be. I complained because the press made a HUGE misrepresentation of the video she made. It was a coerced propaganda piece, filled with obvious contradictions, made at gunpoint (it was later revealed) at Sunni Party HQ, made BEFORE her release, not after, for which her cooperation was a pre-condition of her release.
This is the ONLY fact that I have disputed here on FR, in the face of a bevy of uninformed patriotic haters.
I continue to say, wait for the real FACTS not the hearsay:
because she knew Arabic, woop-ti-doo! That proves?
because she knew Marla Ruzicka? that's guilt by association
because she was employed by a Jordanian newspaper? do we have any samples of her articles?
I say we follow the FACTS not the hype!
In Catholic school the nuns would always say..."Show me your friends and I'll tell you what you are". I have never, to this day, found that statement to be false.
That's a defensive position for sure. People who believe in their own values reach out to others. Jesus ate with sinners, was condemned for it, guilt by association you know, didn't the nuns teach you that?

I think the point GoldstateGOP is making is that even though she may have said the things in her interview under duress, if you throw out the parts about her not being mistreated, then what she said does not differ substantially from what she said before she was kidnapped, as a free person.
I didn't hear him imply that they should have cut her head off. She is lucky they didn't...but he did imply that she is closer ideologically to any of her captors than she is to any of her fellow US Citizens.
Personally, I am glad she was safely released. I hold out hope that she may understand the real nature of the people she supported, but...I am not holding my breath.

As a fellow Massachusetts resident, I couldn't agree more with that statement.
On the contrary, I think her personal views were well known prior to her kidnapping. Unless she has had a battlefield conversion, she may well hold the exact same views, which are pro-arabic, anti-US and anti-Israel.
I would like to think she has seen the real nature of the beasts who kept her captive, but time will tell.
Honestly, though, I expect to see statements from her along the lines "I am angry about being taken captive, BUT...what we are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan is wrong..."

You got that right. Who was that truck driver that was kidnapped early on and managed to escape on his own? It seems the media have forgotten about him. On WMAL, Andy Parks says his BS meter pinged big-time concerning this woman. Mine too! Within the year, she will be hitting the usual suspect lib programs and outlets - the college campus's, Larry King, etc. - spouting off against the WOT.
Why would they cut off her head if she was in on the so called kidnapping? She wanted to help her muslim buddies get some money, but that did not work. Now she wants to write a book.
It will be interesting to see if she throws down her pen and joins The United States Military now.

If you can do that I will gladly restate my position. I have no dog in this fight. I only think there's been a whole lot of cruel hatred toward a young woman based on innuendo and circumstance.
So far, I repeat SO FAR, all so-called evidence against her has been weak circumstantial, guilt by association argumentation by zealous patriots.
A side question:
Why didn't you all get so furious at those peace missionaries that were actually rescued by our troops and then had no good word to say about the USA or even a "thank you" for their rescue?
So far since her release, Jill has said the right things. Wait for her to say something wrong and THEN condemn her? Why so eager to be right in the wrong way?

I happen to have conservative friends who have gone there because of financial reasons. Shame on everyone for thinking stereotype stupid. That's all I can say.
