On the heels of the 500,000-person Los Angeles street demonstration, the illegal-alien lobby is promoting a major one-day boycott of American life to demonstrate its clout.
It is set for May May Day as it is known throughout the socialist and communist world.
It's called "A Day Without Latinos."
Organizers, like the Mexican American Political Association, are calling on their people to stay home from school, work and shopping and to protest out in the streets instead.
Protest what? I can only assume that they believe Americans have been inhospitable to them only providing 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens with comforts they never knew at home.
If you're like me, watching those 500,000 people in the streets of my former home town last week prompted a visceral reaction.
Who were these people flying the American flag upside down? Who were these people waving Mexican flags in my country? Who were these people trashing the country in which they are so determined to stay? Who were these people who don't have jobs that require their energies that day? Who were these people that didn't have schools to attend?
I'll tell you who they were: They were mostly probably overwhelmingly illegal aliens.
And that's why those numbers should scare us.
I have long believed that our own government is lying to us when officials report only 11 million or 12 million illegal aliens in this country. I think the real number could easily be twice that. And when you see the photos of those demonstrations in Chicago and Los Angeles, you start to realize just how potent a force those millions of illegals are.
We have indeed been invaded and there is yet no determined effort to repel the invaders, to turn them back, to stop the flow of more.
Our government is not abiding by the laws of the land or the will of the people. U.S. citizens are angry about this invasion maybe angrier about this betrayal of trust than any other single issue. That's how I read it.
The Minutemen made a splash for awhile, but I think it's time to mobilize 300 million Americans in an action in which we can all play a role, make our voices heard and turn up the heat on the politicians in Washington and the businesses that benefit so much from cheap labor.
Here's my idea.
If the illegal alien agitators want to have a "Day Without Latinos," I would suggest we plan a much bigger event one that would truly bring this country to its knees for one day.
Let's organize a "Day Without Americans."
You want to find out hot to stop the clock? You want to find out who really makes this country tick? You want to see who makes the trains run on time? Just try a day without Americans.
I think the illegal alien agitators have really goofed on this strategy. Because, frankly, I don't think their "Day Without Latinos" will be any different than any other day for most of us. But a "Day Without Americans" will be a day unlike any we have ever seen in the history of this nation.
It's not Latinos or any other ethnic group that makes this country great. It's Americans that do.
That's the message we need to get across. And the only disadvantage we have in organizing such an event is the work ethic of the average American. We don't take days off from work to march in the streets and whine about our conditions. We don't participate in boycotts over this cause or that, because we are busy putting food on the table for our children and helping our neighbors. We don't shout and cry and paint our faces and act like children we pay our taxes and keep our mouths shut and take care of ourselves and our families.
Well, it's time to take a page out of the book of our enemies and, believe me, America, we have some real enemies inside the gates.
It's time to rise up angry not against the illegal aliens who have taken advantage of this great country, but against the politicians who have not only permitted it, but encouraged it, all but handing out engraved invitations.
That would be the theme behind my "Day Without Americans." What do you think?
Thank you kindly. :-) Yes, I suspect that any school principle or policeman who condoned desecration of The Flag would be the recipient of a rather "tumultuous uproar," to say the least.
Well, whatever it is, they'd better get a clue. And SOON. Personally, I think they've been smoking some fry or something. It causes permanent brain damage, you know...
Yeah, I remember now. I didn't think I'd seen you around in a while. :-) Nice to see you again. We've had many good conversations back in the good ol' days.
I'd do it.
'Twould be supremely cool if the employers joined us.
Yes I am looking forward to enjoying your wit and your wisdom again.

If by anti immigrant you mean anti illegal immigrants then I am one. I am not against LEGAL Immigration. I am against all people who enter this country illegally period.
If you are a person who came into this country illegally, shut up and get the hell out. When you go through the legal process and are admitted into the country LEGALLY, I'll be the first one to welcome you.
If you are here illegally, you have no rights. No right to protest, no right to influence political policy, no right to a job, no right to healthcare, welfare or anything.
Cyber ant You stated: "Why do I have to punish my employer to make a point!
There has to be a better way than that! "
I agree, we should find a way to make the employers of the illegals pay.
Doug from Upland has a thing going at this thread. U.S. BORDER PATROL: Turn In Illegal Aliens (and EMPLOYERS, followed by this one U.S. BORDER CONTROL Turn in illegal aliens

Cash in on this "Day Without Latinos" .
A better return on investment for our time and effort than "A Day Without Americans"
Write letters to the editors of all the newspapers. Call TV and Radio stations. Develop a ground swell of noise.
Appeal to the legal Latinos to boycott the strike.
Make demands that strikers be fired or employers will lose our business.

...so far, only post #2 applies to what you wrote...
..The rest, including myself, agree with you!
DOUG from Upland started with this thread U.S. BORDER PATROL: Turn In Illegal Aliens (and EMPLOYERS, followed by this one U.S. BORDER CONTROL Turn in illegal aliens
Go to either thread for more details on what to do. The TOLL FREE number to report ILLEGAL aliens or those employing ILLEGAL aliens to ICE is: 866-347-2423
How it works:
You are not required to provide your identity to ICE. All that is necessary to request an investigation by ICE is mere suspicion of any activity by ILLEGAL aliens.
ICE and the IRS are especially interested in "visiting" those businesses that employ ILLEGALS "off the books" to avoid the payment of payroll taxes.
I am not an anti-Bushbot...
I am proBush, but gravely concerned about the illegal alien situation/saturation.
So I guess I agree/disagree with you post, FWIW.
Here's part of the problem. "and unless these students are well educated or have usable job skills, they are going to be worse off after graduating high school than an illegal fresh over the border." I think the days of demanding high wages for doing nothing (GM job bank) are over and should be. Likewise we should not accept schools who graduate youth who don't have education or skills. They are wasting money, too.
Do you get to decide which law(s) you will break?
I wonder if you mean what you say. If Mexicans were coming in in droves, legally, would that be alright with you? Wouldn't we still have many of the same problems that people object to? They might still work off the books, for instance and crowd 20 people into small houses. You would have to drastically change the legal immigration quota. right now, it is 5000/yr for unskilled workers but a million are supposedly coming in.
