Teddy Roosevelt quotes on illegal immigrantsI'm against illegal immigration. But that concept really didn't exist in Roosevelt's time - he was instead commenting on the need for assimilation - which is a vital but separate argument from illegal immigration - plenty of legal immigrants aren't properly assimilating now, either.

I think TRs comments are very appropriate -- especially the ones I posted in #5 and #12. He deals with the argument of cheap labor. He deals with dependence on aliens. He deals with those who have divided allegiances (or none at all). He may not have addressed illegal immigration as we know it today, but I think his comments are very timely.
