gave up his own life while saving 3,000 other lives...

at the World Trade Center's Tower II,

on the 1st day of a world wide war on terrorism...

that he also predicted.

His 'Follow Me' bronze statue likeness was joyfully unvailed

last Saturday at his favorite place in America,

Ft. Benning GA.,

by his loving widow SUSAN.

True Heroes there lauded RICK's lifetime lifesaving life...

as the example for the rest of us to follow

in this new time of war.

It was a joy just being there.

At work on Wednesday some of us were having the "where were you" 9/11 discussion. As the conversation turned to more general aspects of the day and the attacks, I mentioned Col. Rescorla to a young coworker. She had seen Mel Gibson's "We Were Soldiers," but had no idea that the two were somehow connected. I told her about how many lives he was responsible for saving that day. Apparently she did some homework that night as she came up to me on Thursday and said, "Wow...he really was a hero!"

Some lives will never be forgotten.
