A good man but the RINOs won't have him as their standard-bearer. And New Jersey, being a socialist cesspool, there is only room for a real socialist and the pretend one in Thomas Kean. Its not like you have a lot of choices in the Garden State.

Hi Coleus- Is there a place where one can visit during their travels around the state to sign a petition since time appears to be of the essence? While I'm a very pro-choice Republican, I'm essentially a single-issue voter when it comes to RKBA...and it looks like I could get behind this candidate. Keep us posted.

I think it would be unconstitutional for them to require a NJ driver's license for someone to register to vote. Just show up at the voter-registration office with a utilities bill showing that you live in Hudson County and you shouldn't have a problem registering.

The only thing this would accomplish is making it easier for Menendez to win the election. Exactly. NJ, like NY and other Northeastern states, will not go for a conservative state-wide, period. NJ has tried numerous times in the past several years, and each person has been walloped. A moderate GOPer is still better than Menendez any day of the week.
To: Coleus
We need to defeat Menendez in November. Whatever it takes and John Ginty stands for a lot of things I do too.

"A moderate GOPer is still better than Menendez any day of the week." ALL OF US HAVE TO DETERMINE THAT AS INDIVIDUALS. I thought we were better off without Case. Conservatives don't win because they aren't supported by RINOs; yet they expect us to support their "moderates"!

Kean isn't a moderate..he is a RINO in the true meaning of the word. He doesn't have a platform. John Ginty and the momentum that he is picking up from the NJ Conservatives will send a message to the Kean camp and the RINO Tom Wilson . 1000 signatures are needed and petitions are circulating.

NJ has tried numerous times in the past several years, and each person has been walloped. So have the moderates. Once Corslime's taxes go through, he's going to be so unpopular that any candidate should do well by linking Menendez to him.
A moderate GOPer is still better than Menendez any day of the week.
Not really, look how Specter, McCain, Graham and the other RINOS in the senate are screwing us over with this illegal immigration thing. Adding another member (and Little puke is far to the left of them) to that P.O.S. club will only embolden them more, especially if we don't gain any new seats or if we lose conservatives from elsewhere.
I for one will not vote for Kean under any circumstance

It's incredibly easy to register in New Jersey if you register at the county clerk's office. (It's in Journal Square in Jersey City for Hudson County.) You just have to sign a form, and no need to provide identification. They will mail a voter identification card to your address.
On the other hand, I believe that if you register by mail, you will need to show a photo id when you vote.

You are right. Kean is not a moderate with principle and character. He's no Olympia Snowe or John Warner.
He is a wimp and a liar (who happens to have a famous father.) Lincoln Chafee, Act 2.

Lincoln Chafee, Act 2.Yep. I prefer Barbara Boxer - - at least that scumbag is in the right party, not sneaking around in disguise. I hope that if Ginty doesn't beat McKean in the primary, he drains his cash and destroys his chances to win in the general.
To: Lancey Howard
I hope that if Ginty doesn't beat McKean in the primary, he drains his cash and destroys his chances to win in the general. No RINO's in RINO territory eh? That seems a bit short sighted. NJ hasn't voted in a "conservative" senator since rocks cooled, and now the rocks are stone cold, global warming to the contrary notwithstanding. Putting Chafee aside, RINO senators vote quite differently from Dem senators, except Nelson of Nebraska. I guess votes on SCOTUS nominees don't interest you much. Pushing red meat in places where folks prefer a low cholesterol diet is well, poor marketing.

I live in NJ and I'm voting for Kean in the primary. Ginty has NO name recognition, and Kean is still fighting head-on with Menendez despite name recognition and a moderate stance on the issues. Ginty will get wiped out, especially in the political climate in this country right now. Latest I saw was SurveyUSa ranking NJ as the most displeased with Bush's performance. This is a heavily unionized, minority state. Democrats are coming out in droves on election day and Ginty will not survive.
Suck it up and swallow the RINO.

Your assessment of the political climate seems reasonable. There is no use kidding ourselves. It is simply a fact of life that in some states a traditional conservative candidate isn't going to win the general election. In fact, it's hard enough for even a moderate Republican to win, as we've seen in recent elections in NJ. If the Pubs nominate someone like Ginty, the 'Rat will probably clobber him something like 70-30. I'm not terribly optimistic about a RINO, either, given that Forrester is now a two-time loser statewide. But Kean has name recognition, something that Forrester did not have, and also Corslime may be (relatively) unpopular (for a 'Rat) given the recent scandals and tax-hiking tendencies. So someone like Kean might squeak in, and at least Menendez will be out of there. Certainly not the best of choices, but it may be the best we can do given the political landscape.

GOPUSA Northeast Supports John Ginty for U.S. Senate
WOODBRIDGE, NJ -- GOPUSA Northeast is enthusiastically supporting John Ginty for the U.S. Senate against Tom Kean, Jr. Ginty, a Conservative from Ridgewood, will now offer voters in the Republican Party a choice on June 6th, something the establishment was hoping to avoid. "This is exactly what Conservatives in this State were hoping for, John Ginty's Conservative message will capture the enthusiastic support of Republican voters across the state" said Michael Illions, Co-Executive Director of GOPUSA Northeast.
After a poorly ran, finger pointing, running to the left race for Governor last November, Conservatives can right things for the Republican Party by electing a Conservative to represent them in the general election in November. "Contrary to what some are saying, primaries are good for the party and gives the voters a choice. Many Conservatives were upset that the path had been cleared for Kean by the establishment, now that has changed, it's time for Conservatives to step up and make a difference in June." added Co-Executive Director of GOPUSA Northeast, Rich Rossillo.
Members of the organization were also thrilled by the news and are quickly lining up behind Ginty. Linda Bergin, a longtime GOPUSA member from Montclair, had a message for the Republican party establishment. "We need a true conservative to represent us in New Jersey. I support John Ginty for US Senate. NO More RINOs."
"We need to send someone to Washington who can reform entitlements. Since Tom Kean's candidacy is based on his perceived entitlement to public office due to his last name, he is simply the wrong man for the job." said Ed Mazlish of Florham Park.
GOPUSA Northeast's mission is to spread the conservative message throughout the Northeast and America. With 8,200 members in New Jersey, 48,000 in the Northeast and 500,000 nationally, GOPUSA is the 2nd largest Conservative organization in the Country. GOPUSA Northeast's signature outreach & recruitment program; Generation GOP, recruits, supports and helps elect Conservatives 45 & under. www.gopusanj.com

Hi Coleus- Voting for the "most liberal" conservative candidate that some posters have been advocating simply positions us to slide further and further to the left with each election. How about that pathetic RINO Christie Todd Whitman?
Why should we be voting scared? We don't see too many liberals running around looking to see how "conservative" they can appear...with the exception of Hillary! Rodham Clinton. The leadership on the Democrat side is proud of their liberalism and they shout it at the tops of their dumb lungs.
My policy is to vote for the best candidate for office in both the primary and general elections.
