Grand Jury to Hear McKinney Case (tomorrow)
WXIA-TV Atlanta ^ | 04.05.06 | Michael King

Posted on 04/05/2006 3:46:35 PM PDT by mhking

MSNBC reported late Wednesday afternoon that a grand jury would hear evidence against Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-4th Ga.) on Thursday.

No word is available on how soon a warrant may be issued against McKinney.

The Washington Post reports Capitol police want McKinney prosecuted on a misdemeanor charge of assaulting a police officer. The fourth district congresswoman has said she's a victim of racial profiling and insists she struck the officer after he touched her inappropriately.

I like the part where DeLay calls her a racist (though folks in her camp think DeLay is racist, so it's thought of as a non-starter)...

I'll fall off my chair if she was indicted.

If I struck a police officer I would be thrown down and cuffed, put in the back seat of a cruiser, and booked, and locked up. Who gave this nitwit the right to be an exception.

A Grand Jury for a misdemeanor charge? That doesn't sound reasonable. Maybe for a felony, but not for a misdemeanor.

A Grand Jury for a misdemeanor charge?

They're just trying to avoid responsibility. Give it to someone else to decide. Not my fault how it comes out.

a misdemeanor charge of assaulting a police officer.

If you hit a cop where I live, it's a felony.....If there's anything left of you to prosecute.

Nice little game of hot potatoe we've got going on here. The cops toss it to the DA, the DA throws it to a grand jury, the grand jury...?

This screams (if you'll pardon the phrase) whitewash.

They're afraid of the controversy, so they kick it to a DC Grand Jury, probably made up of 85% black women, and let them refuse to indict.

They say a Grand Jury will indict a ham sandwich.

However, she's a baloney, sharp tongue and head cheese combo, so she's gonna get off scot free.

LOL. Yep, and you are right, she will get off, whereas you and I would not. Then again, we are not given to striking law officers doing their jobs.

The analogy is not murder.

It is jury nulification and the playing of the race card to avoid personal responsibility.

"The fourth district congresswoman has said she's a victim of racial profiling and insists she struck the officer after he touched her inappropriately."

Officer says "slow down, I need to see your badge" but defendant walks on, ignoring officer.

Officer places hand on defendants shoulder and says "stop."

Defendant turns and strikes officer, and later concocts claim of racism and inappropriate touching, once defendant realizes the depth of the caca.

Definition of racism: "a tool to be used, when advantage seems possible. Excuse for one's behavior."

he touched her inappropriately.

You mean, he wasn't double-gloved & face-masked?

You mean, he used his hand, instead of a billy club?

You mean, he only caught your arm, rather than doing a full take-down?

Well, maybe those can be arranged, if it will really make you happy, Sin-D.

Exactly.....this ain't worth the effort. She'll wear a misdemeanor charge for smacking a LEO as a badge of honor and use it to campaign for re-election in that zoo she calls a district.

Felony assault is the norm for hitting a cop here too......drop the charge IMO unless congress will do something to remove her after a conviction .

Ain't woth the money to keep the lights on in the court that panders to such a shit'n shineola show she'll use for free face time to keep the hate alive !

Doom on that cunning runts stunts.....

I haven't done much pinging lately, but you can see why with stories like this...

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

She's made enemies on both sides of the aisle -- notice that Democrats outside of her personal friends here in Georgia and the Congressional Black (Liberal) Caucus are noticably quiet on this one.

She's truly shot herself in the foot.

Striking a police officer is a felony just watch the many repeats of Cops on TV.

That said, If she is indicted I will be surprised. Every day we see stories about the privileged in our society getting off with a slap on the wrist while first time offenders are given the MAX.
