Weekend Talk Show *Preview* for DATE HERE (not the live thread)

Journal Editorial Report (Paul Gigot) - FNC show page

The Beltway Boys (Mort Kondrake, Fred Barnes)

Fox News Watch (Eric Burns)

CNBC's Tim Russert Show (Tim Russert)

Fox News Sunday (Chris Wallace)

NBC Meet The Press (Tim Russert)

CBS Face The Nation (Bob Schieffer)

ABC This Week (George Stephanopoulos)

CNN Late Edition (Wolf Blitzer)

This is NOT intended to be the live Sunday Morning Talk Show thread. I trust AB will do that as usual. This is strictly a preview of who will be on the main shows. The idea is to give folks a chance to muster their resources for that thread.

I would particularly ask that anyone with specific knowledge or resources about the topics / guests announced for these shows post them here so that the rest of us can go into the shows with a heads up on what to look for.

The Weekend Preview Thread is up

If you would like on or off my ping list please Freepmail me

Lots of interesting guest for me this week, including J. D. Hayworth, Jon Kyl, Tom Tancredo, and especially Hugh Hewitt (but no Joe Biden, John McCain, or Chuck Hagel... what's wrong?).  I'm also interested to see the reaction of the MSM to John Kerry.  Their masters, MoveOn.ORG, Kos and the rest of the moonbats are making it clear that Ketchup boy is a day late and a dollar short.

The dominant meme appears to be that Bush the GOP is truly screwed over immigration everything, those who oppose amnesty or argue for a secure border are NAZIs/Communist border guards, and we should look to the illegal immigrants as the best source for saving the country, since we can't survive without them.  Vicente Fox Hugo Chavez for US President anyone? Oh, and we've lost in Iraq and Iran, let's go home now run away now and beg for forgiveness.  We'll do it eventually, so lets just get it out of the way so that the French our islamic masters will love us.

Illegal immigrants are the backbone of our nation and anyone who says otherwise is a NAZI - and now let's welcome Congressman Hayworth...

LOL. I guess that makes me a Nazi too. Thanks, Phsstpok., I've been looking forward to this.

As always, great job. It will be hard to watch some of these shows this weekend, I cannot stand watching Kerry (he makes me puke, just like Bush makes ABC's Green puke), and that liar Joe Wilson. Guess I'll have to keep my eyes on the live Sunday Talk show thread to get the real skinny.

Hi Phsstpok, thanks for this, Will give me a little head start. I will be doing the honors this week by the way. (Unless I get an emergency fishing trip). Loads of great info here.

I will be interested to see if anyone(of the congress critters) tackles that tough question of whether or not to put the finger in the dike and actually stop the illegal migration before we worry about what form of amnesty we will give them.

After all that's all this will amount to,IMHO. with the congress we have now.

There is a possiblity... just a possibility... that Kerry and Wilson are guests this week to allow the MSM to cover their ass by dumping on them.

2% chance, but I can always hope...

I think he is absolutely right. However, I have seen that a number of our elected representatives, including Goober Graham, insist that this is wonderful legislation and we must have it. How anyone can say that with a straight face, I do not know.

That is just so awful...I am praying that this weather calms down before more are killed.

You just keep making this thread SO good...I really look forward to it each week.

I THOUGHT that President Bush might slide this week...and it would be all McKinney and all Immigration all the time...

BUT, NOOOOOOOOOO...that "non-story" about the "leak" of classified information just had to sneak in there.

You are added to the list, and thank you kindly for the comment. I do this for my own benefit as I learn while pulling up the things on the guests and learn more from the comments of folks here and on ABs Sunday Thread.

I have several central premises under which I think a successful universe functions. Chief among them, for sentient beings, is the concept of "enlightened self interest."

I get more out of doing this than I put in, particularly from the freepers who choose to participate, belive me, but again, thank you for the comment.

Email from a contact in Iraq I just got today. I am part of a groups spend stuff out to this guy and his platoon. Intresting how this sort of stuff NEVER gets covered by our Alphabet media. Do any of you even know it was a group of Iraqi Army privates that swarmmed into the battle and saved ABC New Woodward's butt? Of course that part of the story just got skipped over by the Establishement media. Are things perfect there? NO, but a LOT better then our domestic Al Qeda propagandists will tell you.

Iraqi Police in action. Words from Iraq.

Personal stuff cut out......

I could wait to tell you what we saw today. As usual we were doing our routine patrols and as we were heading back to Mares. We saw that the IP’s (Iraqi Police) had one of the main roads closed. Shortly after, we realized that they were working on an IED placed on the right of the road exactly where we normally pass by to make a right turn. This people have a great sense of bravery, because even with the limitation on the equipment that they were using to deactivate the IED, this IP’s worked with it fearless. There were basically about 7 IP’s on the ground, one with binoculars, two with a string with a hook in the middle of it and the rest of them pulling security for the ones working directly with the IED. The technique used to deactivate the IED was merely simple. The used the hook to extract the ignition device away from the round (one 155mm). After the ignition device was away from the round, then extracting the round out of the whole was “piece of cake”. I’m glad and thank God for these men, because it could hit any of our Stryker and cause other tragedy like on February 26, 2006.

Some that cranked me up was that while they worked on the IED, none of us got out of the Stryker at least to help pulling security for them. Though the Stryker it self has a .50 cal mounted and I think they were helping that way. In addition, two of my peers were just criticizing the way that these IP’s worked with the IED. Man I just wanted to tell them that if they know as much and they wanted so bad to do some about it they could go out and help them with the problem. The finally shut up when they saw when the IP’s pulled the round out of the hole. I apologize for this, but I needed to get it out of my system because in the way that I see it is that those men saved our sorry asses from getting blow up. Probably the only way we might would realized that it was an IED there is if it would exploded and even kill or injure some one. I hate the fact of people talking smack and not doing anything about it.

Well this incident also remind me couple weeks ago when a SVBIED blow up and couple minutes later an IED went off about 200 meters away from the SVBIED site. When we there about 15 minutes after all this happened, but the must interesting part is who an IA (Iraqi Army) guy crawled like a snake into the hole just to peep and see what was the status of the remaining UXO (Unexploded Ordnance). After he (IA) realized that this rounds didn’t represented a threat (at least to him), he just pulled them out like candies. Even an explosion took place, it had 5 unexploded rounds inside the IED hole and we heard that the explosion from the EID was quite loud. Now you can imagine how much damage this IED would make if it would go off completely.

I know you like to hear about all this, so this is some that has been going on that I think I haven’t share this one with you. I got you some new Iraqi money, the one that doesn’t have the Saddam face on it. You will receive it with the rest of the stuff that I have for you here. In what box is the mouthwash? Take care and keep getting well. Have a great day.

In all the misinformation and lies we will hear on the Sunday shows about Iraq, I think we should point out the information flowing out of the Iraq docs. I want to point out how Jveritas has done more serious Journalism with his work on the Iraqi Docs then the Sunday shows have done for the last year.

Here is the latest. Freeper Honor is due Jveritas. Especially since he wades thru hundreds of docs, ON HIS OWN TIME, to get these sort of information gems out to us.

Interesting article and perspective on Immigration. Of course, he refers to them as 'immigrants' but at least adds that they're illegal.

Immigrant Bill Snared by Web of Suspicion
By Ronald Brownstein, Times Staff Writer
April 8, 2006

WASHINGTON — This week's Senate stalemate on immigration sent a sobering message: Distrust between Republicans and Democrats has reached a level that can derail agreements, even when leaders in both parties publicly endorse the same policies.

Almost all the negotiators on the issue agreed that a clear majority of senators — as many as two-thirds — were prepared to vote for compromise legislation that would toughen border security, create a new guest-worker program and establish a path to citizenship for most of the estimated 12 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally.

But the bill stalled Friday and now faces an uncertain future, largely because each party suspects the other of a hidden agenda.

Democrats fear that although Senate Republicans have been offering centrist compromises, they will tilt the bill sharply to the right when it reaches a conference with the House.

Conversely, Republicans fear that Senate Democrats, while appearing conciliatory, at heart want to block passage of a Senate bill so that the GOP will be forced in this year's congressional campaigns to defend the much more conservative bill that the House approved in December.

The suspicion over motives suggests that in the difficult and emotional immigration debate, the most impassable border might be the space between two parties bruised by years of partisan conflict.

>snip

"The divisions in the Republican Party are pronounced, but there are questions for the Democratic Party as well" about its position, said Frank Sharry, executive director of the National Immigration Forum, an immigrant advocacy group. "Do they want a bill or do they want an issue? We don't want to be a football. We want the leaders of both parties to step up and provide a way this can be addressed."

>snip
The proximate cause of this week's breakdown was a series of unusual procedural demands by Reid.

He insisted that Frist limit the number of amendments that could be offered to the bill. He also called on Frist to commit to naming members of the Judiciary Committee — most of whom favor a comprehensive approach to rewriting immigration laws — as the representatives who would advocate for the chamber's bill in negotiations with the House.

Frist rejected the demands, denouncing them as unreasonable attempts by the minority to dictate Senate procedures to the majority.

These procedural disputes, though, seem only proxies for the larger, more political differences.

>snip

House leaders have said that in negotiations with the Senate, they will seek to make illegal presence in the U.S. a misdemeanor rather than a felony. But most Democrats favor maintaining illegal residency as a civil, not a criminal, violation.

If the legislation is moved to the right on that and other issues in a House-Senate conference committee, Senate Democrats could be left with a difficult choice just weeks before November's election: either vote against a bill that includes tough border security, a potential liability at the polls, or accept legislation they consider too punitive for immigrants.

Among Democrats, the fear is so great that a GOP-controlled conference committee would produce a bill they consider unacceptable that some have questioned the wisdom of passing any measure through the Senate.

"In a number of our meetings, people have said there is no sense in even getting started if we've got Sensenbrenner out there" insisting on an enforcement-only bill, Kennedy said.

But Republicans — and even some overhaul advocates, such as Sharry — fear a different political motivation for Reid's procedural demands: a belief that Republicans will be hurt in November if no bill passes the Senate and if the GOP's only formal position on immigration is the House bill, with its controversial felony provision.

Martinez said many Senate Republicans suspected that Democrats preferred "that the voice of the Republicans on this issue be the House bill."

If one was to find anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States, where would one go to look? This was the question "Dateline" producers pondered for an upcoming show. The answer apparently, as Michelle Malkin reported on her blog, is a NASCAR racetrack. So the producers decided to recruit willing Muslims to be filmed at a race. After all, Southern white males are, if anything, bigots who hate everyone else not like them.

I am thinking that this is a huge miscalculation by the dems. My sense is that most Americans, across party lines, recognize the enormity of this problem and DO NOT favor illegals or any kind of amnesty. The notion that priests and nuns will be thrown in jail is ludicrous. In fact, all Republicans have to do is point out that Sensenbrenner and the House Republicans attempted to change the felony provision and were stopped by the dems. They just need to repeat that over and over and they will be fine. Oh, and Harry Reid has made a complete fool of himself, as usual.

I suspect John F Kerry (who by the way, served in VN) will be talking about how incompetent the Admin is, as he tries to make himself look like the frontrunner for the Dims in '08:

Kerry Lashes Out At Bush

(AP) NEW YORK A defiant Sen. John Kerry on Friday lashed out sharply against President Bush and his team of advisers, calling them "the Katrina Administration" and "the most incompetent people I've ever seen."

The Massachusetts Democrat and 2004 presidential nominee also suggested Republicans hope to scuttle comprehensive immigration legislation pending in the U.S. Senate in order to prevent immigrants from becoming voters.

Kerry made the remarks via teleconference at a breakfast gathering of the National Action Network, an advocacy group founded by the Rev. Al Sharpton, who competed against Kerry in the 2004 Democratic presidential primaries. Kerry had been expected to attend the breakfast in person but canceled because of votes on the immigration legislation in Washington.

Criticizing a bill passed in the U.S. House late last year that would criminalize illegal immigrants and those who offer them assistance, Kerry echoed controversial comments made by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton last month where she said the legislation would penalize "even Jesus himself."

"Jesus reached out to the poor, the sick, the prisoners and the lame," Kerry said. "The notion that people in the church who help people who are here illegally would somehow be criminalized would be to say they can't even walk in the footsteps of the teachings of the scriptures."

Plurality in new poll would choose someone tougher on illegals

Forty-six percent of Americans say they prefer a political candidate with a harder line on illegal aliens while 38 percent opt for one who wants to expand legal opportunities for foreign workers, according to a new national opinion poll.

Rasmussen Reports, asking Americans to choose between two hypothetical candidates, also found 50 percent of Americans say the immigration issue is very important. Another 32 percent say it is somewhat important.

The survey asked respondents to consider: "One candidate favors building a barrier along the Mexican border and forcing illegal aliens to leave the United States. The other candidate favors expanding the ways that foreign workers can legally get jobs in the United States."

Rasmussen found that among those who say the immigration issue is very important in determining their vote, the pro-enforcement candidate is favored by a margin of 67 percent to 23 percent.

"This suggests that the short-term political advantage on the immigration issue lies with those who want a tougher enforcement policy," Rasmussen said.

A previous Rasmussen poll found two-thirds of Americans believe it doesn't make sense to debate new immigration laws until we can first control our borders and enforce existing laws. It also revealed 40 percent of Americans favor "forcibly" requiring all of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants to leave the United States.

Rasmussen said that while candidates who favor tougher enforcement may reap short-term benefits, the long-term implications are less clear. Neither party at the moment, the pollster observes, enjoys unity within its own ranks on the issue.

Earlier this year, Rasmussen conducted state-by-state surveys and found distinct regional differences on the issue. People in the Southwest tended to view the issue as important as the war in Iraq, while New Englanders considered immigration a far less important issue.

Other results of the latest survey include:

Fifty-four percent oppose the current U.S. law that grants automatic citizenship to children of illegal aliens born in the United States. Thirty-six percent favor the policy.

Among those who say immigration is a very important voting issue, 63 percent oppose automatic citizenship.

Just 27 percent of Americans believe the U.S. should provide foreign aid to help create jobs in Mexico.

Good reminder Johnnie - jveritas has done absolutely wonderful work - and was even mentioned, along w FR in the MSM.

Looks like Zinni is on again this week in an attempt to sell more books.

Here's a link to my post last week about how the Dims are trying to put those w military or security service (including trying to court/recruit Zinni) on their ticket - guess they think this will make them look like they are serious about and can handle Nat'l Sec (the one issue they feel they MUST take away from the Pubbies). The post includes a list of candidates by position and state:

Here's the RNC's response to the Dims claim of Bush Leaked. Guess that's a new slogan to trademark along w Bush Lied TM

DEMS' DECLASSIFICATION HYPOCRISY

Dems' Falsely Attack The President For "Leaking" Information That Was Declassified Legally And Appropriately (3 years ago).

FACT: The President And The Vice President Have The Authority To Declassify Information:

Vice President Cheney: "There is an executive order that specifies who has classification authority, and it, obviously, focuses first and foremost on the President, but also includes the Vice President." (Fox News' "Special Report," 2/15/06)

"Cheney Was Referring To Executive Order 13292, Issued By President Bush On March 25, 2003, Which Dealt With The Handling Of Classified Material. That Order Was Not An Entirely New Document But Was, Instead, An Amendment To An Earlier Executive Order, Number 12958, Issued By President Bill Clinton On April 17, 1995." (Byron York, Op-Ed, "The Little-Noticed Order That Gave Dick Cheney New Power," National Review, 2/16/06)

FACT: On July 18, 2003, The NIE Was Formally Declassified Asserting "Compelling Evidence" Saddam Hussein Was "Intent On Acquiring" WMDs:

On July 18, 2003, CNN's Suzanne Malveaux Reported: "The White House declassified a small portion of the National Intelligence Estimate, eight of the 90 pages. It is a report from the six intelligence agencies that was used to shape President Bush's State of the Union address. It was also used to bolster his case for the war and the claim that Iraq was trying to obtain uranium from Africa." (CNN's "Live From," 7/18/03)

"The White House ... Released Newly Declassified Intelligence And Dispatched A Senior Administration Official To Explain How Erroneous Material Ended Up In The State Of The Union Address." (Joseph Curl, "White House Buttresses Iraq Claim," The Washington Times, 7/19/03)

"The Intelligence Declassified [July 18th, 2003] - Portions Of The October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate [NIE], A U.S. Intelligence Summary Based On The Work Of Six Agencies - Asserts 'Compelling Evidence' That Iraqi Dictator Saddam Hussein Was 'Intent On Acquiring' Nuclear-Weapons Material." I saw this show this a.m. - Pinkerton put Ratner in her place and her comment, Well you and I must not have read the same article. No, Ellen, it was the same one, you were just trying to get away w another DNC spin and this time you were caught. It will be interesting to see if this was a trial balloon, per se, or if the Dims will continue along the line of the Pres outed Plame, in addition to 'he authorized the leak of classified info'. Why don't these idiots understand that the Pres authorized the NIE to be DE-classified because 1) the MSM and Dims kept screaming that the WH was so secretive, 2) he felt it was ok to DE-classify this info and get it out there to rebutt the lies Joey Wilson was telling, and 3) it wasn't a leak of classified info because it was DE-classified - sheesh!

Pinkerton Peace Prescription: "We'll Let NewsBusters.org Sort This Out"
Fox & Friends Weekend/NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

by Mark Finkelstein

April 8, 2006

When things got a bit testy this morning between 'Long' Jim Pinkerton and 'Short' Ellen Ratner on Fox & Friends Weekend's eponymous 'Long & the Short of It' segment, Pinkerton proposed a peace plan that other warring parties might well wish to adopt: "let NewsBusters.org sort this out."

The bone of contention was the substance of just what information it was that President Bush declassified - some would say leaked - that Scooter Libby is in turn alleged to have provided to the press - presumably in the person of Judy Miller of the NY Times.

Ratner "This was a Nixon bad list kind of trick [presumably a reference to Nixon's 'enemies' list] to get . . . "

Host Kiran Chetry [back from maternity leave and beautiful as ever, I might add]: "Why?"

Ratner: "Because it's ruining his wife's career." The reference being to Joe Wilson's wife, former CIA employee Valerie Plame.

Pinkerton: "That has nothing to do with what the President is even alleged to have done. The President had nothing to do with Valerie Plame, and nobody says he did, including Libby. The President said I'm going to declassify certain information about the Iraqi nuclear program, the alleged Iraqi nuclear program. The business between Libby and Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame is completely separate. The President had nothing to do with that."

Ratner: "I'm not sure. Jim and I have read the same articles and I'm not sure - he's making me look like I don't know what I'm talking about here - but I'm not sure that that is clear at all [that W didn't leak Plame's identity]."

That's when Pinkerton proposed his peace plan: "Ellen, we'll let NewsBusters.org sort this out."

Ellen, laughing: "alright." Since there would thus appear to be agreement between the parties as the means of conflict resolution, we will undertake this unanticipated role to the best of our ability.

To resolve the question, let's refer to another one of this critic's favorite media haunts - the Today show. Now I would imagine that even Ellen would agree that Today harbors no special fondness for President Bush, yet this is what NBC White House reporter Kelly O'Donnell had to say on the matter during the first half-hour of the Today show of Friday, April 7th:

"Libby told the grand jury he was instructed by Vice-President Cheney to reveal certain secrets to New York Times reporter Judith Miller to explain the White House position on Saddam and WMDs. The president approved the disclosure which riled Democrats."

Continued O'Donnell: "Senior advisors argue it was in the national interest to defend their policies and say the President did not leak because he has the power to declassify any document. It's important to point out Libby and senior White House officials say that nowhere in these documents does it suggest that the president told Libby to release the name of Valerie Plame. That just didn't appear here. He was instructing, if this is true, to talk about specific ways to refute the stories that were published at the time. This doesn't tie the president to outing Valerie Plame but more about trying to buffer the case about the war."

To use an NFL replay metaphor: "Having reviewed the tape, Pinkerton's ruling on the field stands: no disclosure of Plame's name by the President."

We'll score this one Pinkerton: 1, Ratner: 0.

CNBC's Tim Russert Show (Tim Russert)

I suppose the East/Left Coast Dem Ubermensch think that the South and Heartland should be democratic; after all, the poor dumb yokels and rednecks don't know what's good for them. "They need health care and welfare and such because they're poor trash", goes the liberal groupthink. "He said foxes and henhouses! Why, they must be a good ole boys like us'n!"

Still, you're not going to achieve a dem renaissance in the Heartland/South by supporting gay marriage, homosexual rights, or abortion on demand, nor by being anti-God in public life and places, or anti-Ameircan when it comes to war and terrorism. I'd say the dems are in a terrible place with regard to the Heartland and the South. The only way they could win it back is to lie through their teeth vis-a-vis their agenda, OR change so radically that they're not the democrat party we know of today.

I believe they'll try to run some candidates that espouse Heartland/Southern values but that will be seen as a blatant charade; and therefore they'll do poorly in those places once more.

Fat Timmy and his two Ubermensch friends are whistling past the graveyard of dem control of the Heartland/South. That dog died with Zell Miller's retirement.

In reference to the supposed leak, I found this info yesterday, it needs to be passed on, so I pinged Tony as well:
The statement the MSM has been making:

On July 18, 2003, the administration, facing criticism for the intelligence used to justify the war, declassified an eight-page part of the NIE dubbed "key judgments" and conducted a lengthy background briefing with reporters to discuss it.

“Key judgments" is the operative word here, the “key judgements” documents were not declassified in July of 2003, they were declassified in October of 2002, six days after the NIE was complete per the following information:
On October 7, 2002 DCI Tenet sent a letter to the Senate Intelligence Committee declassifying portions of its new National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq.
Sen. Carl Levin News Release

Another article:

A 25-page version of the National Intelligence Estimate on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction was released in October 2002. It made clear-cut statements about Iraq's nuclear, biological and chemical weapons capabilities in two pages of "Key Judgments."
Source

A copy of the Key Judgments document can be found here. Warning: .pdf file.
As usual, the MSM gets it wrong. I also sent a copy to Jeb Bush to forward to the proper people as I knew an e-mail to the WH would be futile and I couldn't find an e-mail addy for Karl Rove or the GOP.

Hidden Bombs (Extremely Important Article on Immigration)
New York Post ^ | 4/7/2006 | Kris Kobach

Posted on 04/07/2006 5:19:38 AM PDT by GarySpFc

April 7, 2006 -- IMMIGRATION-BILL SURPRISES HOW do you slip legislative poison past a U.S. senator? Bury it on page 302 of a bill.

The Senate's Democratic and Republican leaders yesterday announced a compromise on an immigration bill - with some details still to be worked out. But details that may continue from the bill passed out of the Judiciary Committee should definitely be deal-breakers.

Like that surprise hidden on page 302 - which would replace the country's entire bench of experienced immigration judges with pro-immigration advocates.

With a few exceptions, today's immigration judges (who serve for life) are dedicated to enforcing the law, and they do a difficult job well. This bill forces all immigration judges to step down after serving seven years - and restricts replacements to attorneys with at least five years' experience practicing immigration law.

OK, this reallllllly is my last post this a.m. Just saw this and had to share:

Guess who is going to be a speaker at the Kos convention (didn't know they had one) - - none other than Dingy Harry!
Here's what they say about him on their web site (barf alert):

Sen. Reid doesn't just have his finger on the pulse of American politics ... in many ways he is the pulse of American politics. We are humbled by his acceptance, and we hope you'll be as excited as we are to have him address our community in person.

You posted a link to Wilson's speech in FL - here's the FR thread for it:

Joe Wilson Calls Bill Kristol A Drunk (Slaps EVERYBODY You Can Think Of)

This is from an email I received today; I will NOT link the site it was copied from (DK), but it is SO outrageous, that I thought it deserved a thread of its very own. These are quotes from someone in attendance, who actually had his picture taken with Smilin' Joe.

People need to SEE what a raging fool this man is:

Experts agree, Wilson's a pig: [Lefties attacking Joe Wilson]

It's always good to see another liberal come to the realization that Joe Wilson is a buffoon. From Mark Kleiman (via Andrew Sullivan):

I've mostly laid off Joseph Wilson, not wanting to let the issue of his (execrable) character interfere with the question of who outed his wife as a covert CIA officer. But this from Daily Kos

You know when they first started trying to come up with a way to discredit me, which we now know started in March of 2003, they went through the old standbys. "He's had 3 wives, he's a womanizer, he's done drugs." But then they realized they couldn't use those because I've never actually denied them. I mean I'm the first to admit that, unlike Ken Mehlman and David Dreier, I really like women.

is simply intolerable. (I'd hope the report was libelous if it weren't written by an obviously infatuated Kossack with the handle "tlh lib.") The whole entry makes it sound likely that Wilson is now completely drunk on the sound of his own voice. I was glad to see one commenter call Wilson on his completely gratuitous gay-baiting. No one bothered to complain about Wilson's expressed desire to punch Zalmay Khalilzad in the face.Isn't there some way we can send this jerk back to Team Bush, where he obviously belongs? It's too bad. Given Wilson's history, he could have been an effective anti-Bush spokesman, if he weren't such a toad.

Amen.

I encourage anyone who can to view the MSNBC video of Kerry with Matthews (it's right under the heading "John Kerry (NBC Meet the Press, CNN). It is quite astounding. At one point, Matthews tries to suggest that the President committed perjury. Here's the quote: "the president knew it [the information being released] was incomplete. Does that constitute false testimony to the American people?"

Not that Fred is any more coherent, but at least he doesn't scream.

I keep hearing these pundits on the shows either trying to find something to complain about re: the economy...OR, they discount the importance of the economy...LOL

I do know one thing, though---

As I was reading some of the links above, one article about how the House recessed without passing a budget resolution, also mentioned that the House was supposed to get the tax cut bill that includes the dividends on it passed..and they didn't.

THAT is a biggy, because if they don't make those cuts permanent, the stock market will not react well..and I won't react well..because my financial guy said recently that our stock's value will continue to grow as long as they DON'T lose the dividend tax cut....YIKES!!

So...there is still hope for the dems to screw up the economy before November or 2008. sigh
