I agree. I have E-mailed both my Senators(Isakson & Chambliss), and have told them enforcement first!!! I have recently recieved many fundraising mailings and calls from the RNC and have responded to both of them with" I will give you no money until you deal with the illegals, and their better damn well better be no amnesty". Well, there you go! This issue is just pissing me off. I think we should send immigrationj to every protest march and send their asses back across the border. Shoot to maim when they try to cross back over.

Hey Senator Frist, this Republican has ONE thing to say to you:

"But I knew that 44 Democrat Senators would use every means at their disposal to obstruct an “enforcement first” approach."

There was no necessity to sacrifice enforcement of our borders. A real leader would have simply picked-off 5 or 6 dems in the rust-belt.

Friest is a perfect example of why Senators rarely get elected president.

He is so addicted to deal cutting, compromise, and splitting the difference, its hard to see what his *real* position is on the issue.

His email continues the dishonesty. Is Friest *for* the Republican amendments named? Or is he just bringing them up to attack the Democrats?

Sad, because we need a strong anti-McCain in 2008.

I think he's a blatant liar.

You want to pass a serious immigration reform? Put EACH of the provisions up separately for a vote as separate bills, and in the proper order.

First, address border security and pass a bill on that. Next, kick out the millions of illegals who are here. Then finally, reform the process for providing us with the immigrants we need.

It's not that hard and this is just the same lame excuse we've heard year after year since the beginning of 2001.

Government agent: Mr. Illegal Alien, the law states every illegal here for over 2 years will be rewarded with work visas. Everyone here over 5 years will be rewarded with citizenship.

Have you been here for less than 2 years, if you respond yes, you will be deported.

Mr. Illegal Alien: No, no. I been here longer.

Government agent: Have you been here between 2-5 years, if so, you have to go back to your country and apply for a work visa.

Mr. Illegal Alien: Uh, no, no, longer.

Government agent: Can you prove it? Where have you worked for over 5 years?

Mr. Illegal Alien: No, I, uh, ah, mow lawns. People in my community can tell you I live here longer than five years. Just give me time to talk with them before you speak with them.

Government agent: Do you have any questions?

Mr. Illegal Alien: Yes, where do I trade in my illegal counterfeit documents for legal documents.

But even those illegals who are not our enemies do not belong here.

I could give you many reasons, but if the reality hasn't already sunk in, nothing I say will help you see past your own prejudices.

A friend of mine wondered today if they can use their fake SS# to prove the residency requirement.

Guess you didn't see the "revolution is the solution" and "Europeans are the illegal invaders" signs at the latest rally in LA?

The Nation is lost.

Our collective failure to address this critical issue over the last several decades has assured the Balkanization of the United States to the point that in 30 years -- even without the Islamic terrorist issue to confront -- we will not even begin to recognize our Republic.

So, since I am in my late 70's and have fought the good fight, I am going to ensure I spend as much time as I can at the hold-em tables at the Belle and Flamingo, screwing over as many wet-backs as I can -- dollar by dollar -- and laughing all the way to the bank. FEA!

My payback --modest though it may be -- will give me some satisfaction, as I witness in my final years, the demise of a once incredibly great Republic.

That is a very good question.

I am wondering if I counterfeit a US 5 Dollar bill and use it, I could be sent to jail for 30 years. If a illegal alien counterfeits a US identity card and uses it to illegal seize tens of thousands of American dollars (all the while sending much of that money to Mexico and at the same time receiving federal entitlements) he is supposed to be rewarded with amnesty.

Several weeks ago, I introduced an “enforcement first” border security bill – the Secure America’s Borders Act – that would have greatly increased the number of border security agents, that would have built physical barriers in high traffic areas and utilized remote sensors and UAVs elsewhere, that would have provided for real workplace enforcement.

It would have been vetoed by the President and you know it Senator.

If he doesn't, his legacy will be in the toilet. He will be remembered as the President who couldn't even defend the country's borders.

The history of his presidency will be written in Espanol.

I think spending 200 billion in Iraq and not doing the same here is silly.

Yeah, it's hard to get excited about 15,000 more border enforcement personnel, when you don't feel there is a commitment by Bush and the executive branch to enforce it.

Although I liked Frists idea of sending home everyone who hasn't been here 5 years.

"But" always wipes out whatever came before it.

Yeah. And the "Butts" that we elected to run this country have run it into the ground, wiping out EVERYTHING that came before, namely, a couple hundred years of Constitutional Republic.

The founders are spinning in their graves. The blood of generations of heroes was shed in vain, trampled underfoot by an invading army of illegal aliens, welcomed to overrun our country by an army of scoundrels in expensive clothing sitting in the "hallowed halls" of government.

Don't be fooled, they will be back to finish what they started. They are NOT about to give up on what they want.

There was great hue and cry over other governmental abominations in the not too distant past -- monstrosities like "Know Your Customer" and "Total Information Awareness."

In each case, they did a "strategic retreat" -- and we "declared victory" -- and then, a few months later, we woke up to find that those very same atrocities had been imposed on us -- quietly, by stealth, when no one was looking. Oh, sure, they gave them different names -- but the net result was the same.

Back in the '70s, I was a State HMO Commissioner. One of the agencies we regulated came up with a particularly egregious piece of proposed legislation.

We vetoed it.

A month or two later, they came back with it again.

We vetoed it again.

I think they tried that one or two more times, with the same result. Then, it seemed that they gave up.

Several months later, during a Commission meeting, one of them casually mentioned something about the regulation, and, "back when you approved it."

We said huh? No, we didn't approve it, we VETOED it, several times!

They said, oh, yeah, you did veto it a few times, but then you APPROVED it!

We were getting annoyed, and we insisted that no, we did NOT approve it!

The bureaucrat said, oh, yes, really, you DID approve it, look, see? Right here... as he pointed out a clause BURIED deep within a loooooong "boring" section that pertained to things like (I am not making this up) regulations regarding the length of the gooseneck faucet in the janitor's closet in an HMO facility, the width of the hallways, and so forth.

Lo and behold, when we were going over those regs, rather than wade bit by bit through some fifty odd pages of that nonsense, we gave blanket approval to the entire section.

And THAT was how the bastards managed to get us to "approve" something that we were dead-set on VETOING!

It's how sausage is made...
