RNC Response to John Kerry's Appearance on NBC's Meet The Press
US Newswire ^ | 4/9/2006 | PRESS RELEASE

Posted on 04/09/2006 11:22:13 AM PDT by ncountylee

WASHINGTON, April 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- RNC Press Secretary Tracey Schmitt responded to John Kerry's appearance on NBC's Meet The Press with the following statement:

"In his never ending effort to remain relevant, John Kerry today put forward his trademark pessimism. From his calls for retreat and defeat in Iraq to censuring the President, the Senator is more consumed with his own political future than national security. Despite the Democrats' consummate defeatism, President Bush remains committed to winning the War on Terror and protecting Americans." -Tracey Schmitt, RNC press secretary

Sen. Kerry Once Again Has Nothing But Pessimism And Negative Statements To Offer On Iraq:

NBC's Tim Russert: "But by setting a specific date for withdrawal, you say immediate withdrawal, it is a change in your thinking. ...Now you're saying yes (to a specific timetable to withdrawal)." Sen. Kerry: "Yes, I am saying yes." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 4/9/06)

-- Sen. Kerry: "(I)f (Iraqis) can't put a government together under the threat that the United States is going to withdraw, they're not going to do it." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 4/09/06)

-- Sen. Kerry: "Iraqi politicians should be told that they have until May 15 to put together an effective unity government or we will immediately withdraw our military." (Sen. John Kerry, Op-Ed, "Two Deadlines And An Exit," The New York Times, 4/05/06)

-- Sen. Kerry: "The civil war will only get worse, and we will have no choice anyway but to leave." (Sen. John Kerry, Op-Ed, "Two Deadlines And An Exit," The New York Times, 4/05/06)

-- Sen. Kerry: "There's a complete absence of real diplomacy." (NBC's "Meet The Press," 4/9/06)

How is it possible that one state, Taxachusetts, could send two such examples as Kerry and Fat Teddy to the US Senate.

Is there another state in the union that has representation approaching the sheer ineptitude of these two?

Sen. Kerry: "Iraqi politicians should be told that they have until May 15 to put together an effective unity government or we will immediately withdraw our military."

Kerry is a fool. What a great idea this is - NOT! - to just tell the terrorists that we're giving the Iraqis a deadline in which to put together an "effective unity government," and, if not, we're outta there. All the terrorists have to do is set off a car bomb a day by the Green Zone, so the "reporters" get a good view, and just wait until the deadline. The Iraqis have made great strides with their elections, their constitution, their interim government; now they need time to shake out the wrinkles left from centuries of lawless domination by one faction or another. They'll do it; we just have to give them the opportunity.

John Kerry needs a US defeat in Iraq to remain relevant. His political career is over once Iraq turns out well.

BINGO!! The entire left movement has bet EVERYTHING on America Failing...
Good news for America is BAD news for Dems/Libs.

If America WINS, it means the left WAS WRONG, and it finishes them as a national force. THEY KNOW THIS, and must push defeatism, and try to turn every advance into a defeat...

Kerry's ultimatum would be more for the benefit of terrorists than anything else. He might as well say, "if you guys can just hang in there and create enough havoc between now and May 15th, you'll have it made."

Kerry is irrelevant, his words are not.

Iraq has to wake up before they can stand up. Iraq wakes up when we set an alarm. Deadlines for voting or Constitution preparation are successful. We got rid of Saddam for them. Their job is to get a government, our job is to get AQ and bin Laden. Time to set the alarm for a weaning date so we both can move on.

Stepping back from who John Kerry is and examining that sentence on its own merits, that is the talk of a dysfunctionally depressed person.
