What is Free Republic worth to you?

A BigMac and large chocolate shake will cost you more than $5.00.Two gallons of gas will cost you more than $5.00.
A pack of cigarettes, around $5.00
A movie tickets will cost more than $5.00
Most of us blow five bucks on crap several times a month.
If everyone gave 5.00 a month to FR, we wouldn't need Freepathons any longer.
Heck, it's worth five bucks a month just to be IBTZ.
Help keep FR up and running.

Freep deleted a couple of my posts, and not because they were deliberately or overly provocative, yet allows most that are to remain untouched.
Limit deletion of posts to those that merit it, and I'll consider financial support. Otherwise, as far as this poster is concerned, you can forget it...

I was suspended for a week for posting from a banned site.
I didn't realize the site was a bad one at the time, but I didn't stop my monthly contribution over it.
You get all of the benefits of FR since 12/2000 and want to dictate terms of your financial support.LOL

Ditto. Malcolm, have you reread those posts you complain of having had deleted in light of the rules and regulations for posting?
You obviously have not been banned, considering you are still here, Therefore your infractions were probably fairly minor, but rules are rules.
Stop feeling picked on, that is all in your head.
Become a monthly donor at whatever you can afford, because you are just as addicted to FR as everyone else. Otherwise your suspensions would not have be so traumatic and you would have moved on to someplace else.
If a short suspension is such a shock to you, try to imagine living the rest of your life without FreeRepublic. That's how it will be if we don't all pull together and put our money where our heart is.

Have you considered that all the "IBTZs or pictures of cats" is because many people are afraid of FR and want to destroy it? Besides, all the ZOT threads are usually clearly titled and you don't have to click on them.
While others are enjoying themselves on a zot thread, you could be on another thread complaining about something else.

"Have you considered that all the "IBTZs or pictures of cats" is because many people are afraid of FR and want to destroy it? " Not really, since a lot of the time I don't find these posts to be worth a "Zot". Apart from vulgarity or racist posts I would much rather have these posts remain. Just because you don't agree with something does not mean it should not be posted. I would much rather read/see all posts and make up my mind whether the information is valuable or not. If it is a troll, just ignore them and they will go away.
I would much rather have an open discussion with all points being presented than just a cheerleading site with filtered information.
Not to mention the waste of bandwith... think about this one. FreeRepublic wouldn't need as much money if posters would post a few lines of intelligent discussion instead of posting cute little pictures of kitty cats, nuclear bombs, missles,etc... for the 10,000th time (btw- they weren't very funny the first time)

I think it's mostly because of this:
"Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web."
When some disrupter comes in spouting garbage, he/she doesn't want an open discussion with all points being presented and if Jim lets them stay, soon there is a million of them .
I don't know what to tell you about the graphics and pics.A lot of them are great. Some of them need to be seen. And some are funny as all getout.
But, I guess what you're saying is you don't see $5.00 a month of worth to FR.

Jan 6, 2006...
Most of the folks who are part of the Zots are quite intelligent and can hold their own on a serious debates. Those kitty pics are a good way to poke fun at someone who pretty much disrespects the good folks who visit the FR. If you check the stats on Zot threads it is amazing we have a lot of fans.
I personally learn from a lot the FR and like having serious debates with people here. When it is over I don't hold a grudge, we are not all like minded and that is a cool.
Zots are our way of pointing a finger and laughing at disrupters and other rule breakers. Some folks can be too trigger happy and too eager to Zot noobs. I was guilty of that myself till the Mods showed the me the light. Zot are not as common as they used to be...Gives us time to come up with new material.
P.S. How long have you been here and if you don't like zot threads then don't read them...no one is forcing you.

Wow! I too posted from a banned site without realization...but the Mod simply pulled the post and, when I asked him why, gave me the "no posts from that site allowed" response.
But I wasn't banned for a WEEK!! The mods were nice and helpful and I've not posted from that site since.
