Arrival of aliens ousts U.S. workers

An Alabama employment agency that sent 70 laborers and construction workers to job sites in that state in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina says the men were sent home after just two weeks on the job by employers who told them "the Mexicans had arrived" and were willing to work for less.
Linda Swope, who operates Complete Employment Services Inc. in Mobile, Ala., told The Washington Times last week that the workers -- whom she described as U.S. citizens, residents of Alabama and predominantly black -- had been "urgently requested" by contractors hired to rebuild and clear devastated areas of the state, but were told to leave three job sites when the foreign workers showed up.
"After Katrina, our company had 70 workers on the job the first day, but the companies decided they didn't need them anymore because the Mexicans had arrived," Mrs. Swope said. "I assure you it is not true that Americans don't want to work.........

The organizers of the Boston march are going to have Voter Registration Forms. I doubt they'll be asking for ID. The slogan is Today We March Tomorrow We Vote. Funny thing about voting in MA. In 2002 we voted for English Immersion and Lowering the State Income Tax to 5%. We also voted to put a Gay Marriage Amendment on the ballot. Guess what happened?
Add to that the democrats want felons to be given the right to vote and we have a party that will soon be composed entirely of rule breakers of every stripe.

Most of the US citizens would have been willing to work for less too (and the rest would be willing if they weren't getting government handouts). But employers can't take the risk of hiring them for less, because anything below minimum wage, and without all the tax/Medicare/SS/unemployment payments, is illegal, and citizens can and will go to authorities with their complaint. Remove ALL employer restrictions on wages, benefits, "discrimination" in hiring and firing, and there will be swarms of Americans taking the jobs currently performed by illegals. Not one politician has been willing to stand up and point out this obvious underlying cause of the "illegals" problem, and the obvious solution.
So why aren't the Republicans doing this also?
Most Mexicans are pro-family, anti-abortion, and anti same-sex marriage.
Why does the Republican party think it has to forfeit these new voters, because Mexicans by default are going to become Democrats?
Someone from the RNC should be in there fighting for a place among the new citizens-to-be.

It is equally troubling here in Colorado. Statistics are showing that one in every 21 Coloradoans is an illegal alien AND they are costing our State well over a billion dollars each year. Our Senator, Salazar, is a disgrace and is a contributor to the destructive attitude of having these people overrun our State. Mexican druglords are growing pot in our National and State Forests with armed guards ready to kill anyone stumbling over their operations. Even the Forest Service employs illegals. My Representative is Tom Tancredo and he is trying to bring some order into this overwhelming invasion but the Democrats are stopping any and all actions to repeal our broken laws and the enforcement of those laws.

This morning I heard on the radio a soundbite by a Mexican immigrant, "We didn't cross the border, the border crossed us, and this is OUR land."
My first thought was that this is just the kind of stuff that will turn off most Americans, and make them less sympathetic. The sense of entitlement to break the law and enter illegally was oozing from this person's pores.
Two things, if only the Dems are handing out this sort of thing than it can be hung around their neck. But only softly.
I mean, there really is nothing wrong with promoting your political party. Except this is supposed to be a gathering of illegal immigrants and they shouldn't oughta be able to vote.

The demonstrators are opposed to King’s sponsorship of legislation that could label immigrants and those who help them felons. King also wants to erect a 700-mile long wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. Protesters call the bill an un-American, unfair crackdown on undocumented immigrants.
Congressman King says his bill is an effort to beef up national security and he won’t bow to public pressure. A different bill that would have given undocumented workers a chance at citizenship failed to pass in the Senate last week.
It seems to me that republicans should be passing out copies of this flyer at all union business and say something like "do the democrats care about you? do the democrats care about the country?"

This doesn't make sense. If they are illegal aliens why would they care about when they should vote? I mean, if they aren't US citizens they can't vote. Oh, wait a minute... It is a Democrat voter drive and I forgot that anyone, living or dead, real or imaginary, registered or unregistered, legal or illegal, has their vote counted when they check the name next to the "D"...
