PORTLAND, Maine --Dozens of people pressing for rights for illegal immigrants gathered for a peaceful demonstration on Monday just minutes after a counter-protestor was bloodied by a teenager who hid his face with a bandanna.
The attacker, described as a Hispanic teenager, went after one of three white people carrying signs arguing that illegals have no rights, police said.
As the teen fled, the victim dropped to the pavement after being hit with something heavy that the teen had carried, possibly in a sock or a bandanna, said Portland Police Sgt. Robin Gauvin. There were no arrests as of late afternoon.

I remember first hearing the expression "welfare rights" a few decades ago. I thought ...what rights as the recipient of other people's money??? I guess we are now seeing the new "rights" for the 21st century. Most politicians are despicable and getting worse.

Our lawmakers need to begin investigating the organizers of these marches for being AGENTS OF A FOREIGN COUNTRY WITHOUT HAVING REGISTERED.
That means A<N<S<W<E<R< and Lulac, etc. My bet is they are all getting money from Cuba, Mexico, etc. And North Korea.
An investigation would make people see what is happening with the rallies.

I noticed the involvement of a union, the SEIU (Service Employees International Union.) Government employee unions now dominate the AFL-CIO and I'm afraid legalizing the illegals is a union issue with unions backing the illegals.
Strange considering the issue involves "taking jobs away from Americans" including union members in the minds of many people.

If a community is found to be hispandering to criminal invaders then cut off that communities, local, county, state and federal funding and make it a crime for anyone trying to provide them fiscal support.
And as stated before build one big massive joooooo style border fence that can't be defeated. Use the moneys allocated for illegals workmans comp, medical and welfare aid etc etc ..... Once it is built, that money goes back into a community for those that want to be Americans via the established protocol and those that already are Americans vs some hyphenated fence sitting virus we can't ever cure in the current form with out cutting it out with prejudice.

This is the proposed 700 mile fence. This new fence is extremely tough, and resists cutting. Attacking the fence would have to be done right out in the open, in full view of cameras. This type of fence, on the U.S. side of the government road, will give the USBP a barrier to patrol, instead of forcing them to chase illegals around 100,000 square miles of wide-open frontier land, which is a fool's errand. Everywhere this modern multiple fence system has been built, crossings by illegals drop to almost nil.
This ain't rocket science, folks. We're not talking about something like the Hoover Dam project, (which we managed to build 70 years ago). The world's last superpower, which put a man on the moon 35 years ago, can build a couple thousand miles of simple and effective fencing.
This is how it's being built in San Diego county, along the last 14 miles out to the ocean. The total cost of the entire fence from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific would be about 5 billion dollars, or what we spend medicating, hospitalizing, educating, and incarcerating illegal aliens just about every month. In other words, the fence would pay for itself immediately.
We'll have no choice. Fight, or surrender.

I would suggest covering the ground between the fences with razor wire.
Do that and I think crossing the boarder over the fences would be a fools errand.

This event is only a taste of what is to come. Violence will occur. Eventually there will be troops and martial law. Only then there will be momentum to make the illegals leave.

I agree. I feel somewhat betrayed by the GOP this time around, but a third party is too much of a longshot, so we MUST somehow hold them accountable.
We have this story and a few more today of counter protesters being attacked and escorted out of harms way by police.
I believe the only reason we haven't seen more violence or all out riots is because the counter protesters have been few and far between, not because the protesters are peaceful. There just hasn't been a lot of opposition to them in the streets. Not yet.
They have already shown their propensity for violence at some of the Minuteman meetings. I while back on FR there was some video of them busting up the place where the Minutemen had gathered, turning over tables, pushing people around, throwing them on the ground, and getting very in your face with some nasty remarks.
Right now with the Senate caving in and trying to completely gut the House bill, they still have hope of winning this thing through the political process.
But failing that, I have little doubt that these protests will turn violent. Cities will burn, and people will die.
We might get lucky and avoid that, but I can't be sure if it isn't already too late. Nonetheless, surrender to the demands of foreign invaders is not an option. So, we must...
1. Secure the border. A fence, more Border Patrol, whatever it takes. Do it. No more fresh troops for this army of invaders.
2. Enforce the laws against the hiring of people who are in the country illegally. Right now that enforcement is nearly zero. That isn't going to cut it.
3. End catch and release. Catch and deport. Period. This is already proposed to begin in October, though I highly suspect that this is another ruse from the empty suits in DC. Which brings us to number...
4. This November, vote the RINO traitors OUT!
Mexican officials work hard to make us take their overflow because they know these people would be demanding more rights there. Imagine what would happen if we did secure the borders and ship millions of illegals back home. The illegals marching in our streets today would be marching in the streets of Mexico tomorrow. They've had a taste of a better life and would demand a change in their homeland.
