Looks like the Pima County DA is attempting to bend to Latino pressure and make free speech a hate crime.

No news posted on the websites of ABSleaze, SeeBS or NBSlease TV websites. or other Tucson LSM outlets.

How is a Mexican flag US government property?

Not US govt property, County or City property.

Will have to revied the video. Pretty small of Tucson DA to stoop to this level.

Next thing you know the City will be suing this guy for the cost of the protest.

Hopefully he has a good lawyer like David Hardy.

Arson of his own mexican flag.

Dest of govt property was probably the green astroturf that melted when the flag burned off the carry pole.

I dont need my tax money spent prosecuting this. The City or County will lose.

This is interesting. Isn't there DEBATE in Congress about whether it is a crime or not to burn the American flag? But, buring the Mexican flag is now a crime for destroying government property. Who the heck are we? Are we now Mexicans or Mexican-American or American or American-Mexican??

I am shocked too :(

The country seems to be in ruins. I know that is an exaggeration but that's sure what it feels like. It seems like there is hardly a state left unaffected by this mess.

What used to be wrong is now right; Americans are being arrested while illegals run wild and shut down schools, businesses, AND the state govt.; Zapatistas or whatever they think they are with their masks/handkerchiefs over their faces on the cover of the morning paper; wild angry faces of hatred toward "Europeans"...

I don't think he works for anyone (retired or something like that)... Any flag-burning is a little too much for me personally - but why do the self-proclaimed illegal aliens get to do and say whatever they want yet citizens are thrown in the slammer?

I read another account of some local newswoman goading the Guardians (I think it was on FR today; I'd have to go look for it). Typical.

I agree - for sure about the speech.

Never mind about what I just said - I actually saw this in an email today and probably not FR:

"Local Media Incites Violence at Mexican Flag Burning

Tucson AZ. 4/11/06

"Media bias, and specific tactics employed by local media personalities, incited violence, endangered public safety and threatened to derail the peaceful actions of local protestors who have lawfully burned three Mexican
flags in the last two days.

Sandy Rathbun with a crew from KVOA Channel 4, and an unidentified reporter from Channel 11, arrogantly pushed through lines established by local
humanitarians who linked their hands to protect protestors and their right
of political expression, and local police who stood in support.

"We wanted a small space in which to lawfully express our opposition to the
violation of American law, and the concept of "immigration reform", said Roy
Warden. "Immigration reform is merely a demand that America surrender its'
law and sovereignty to Mexico."

"We politely asked the media to stand 2 feet behind the lines both sides had
created in the interest of public safety", says Warden. "But Ms. Rathbun and
that idiot from Channel 11 asserted their desire to report the story was far
more significant than our right to engage in peaceful communication.
Fortunately, the police stepped in to inform them otherwise."

"The leadership of both sides of the demonstration, assisted by the Police,
acted correctly in the interests of public safety", said Warden, "but Ms.
Rathbun and the idiot from Channel 11 engaged in dangerous conduct
specifically designed to provoke us, obstruct our activities, and make
themselves a part of the story.

"So I told Ms. Rathbun: 'We are going to burn this Mexican flag, and if you
stand too close you will catch on fire'. I think she finally got the
message."

WHy did the cops not arrest him on the spot if he was doing wrong, along with all the illegals?

Why do they wait until a day after the protests to go to his house to arrest him?

He is self employed, a taxpayer, a citizen and a Republican who donated 2K to the Bush campaign according to google records.

I do believe the Tucson cops are pissing up the wrong tree.

This is latino recrimination, busting him on trumped up charges.

They are being stupid, the City is, they are making the City/County liable to a huge Civil Rights/Class action lawsuit.

Meanwhile the media has a quick blurb on TV and buries the story.

Two sets of laws here. One for citizen taxpayers and one for the illegals.

Good question. And how is it not criminal to burn a US flag, but criminal to burn an invader's flag?

Americans are being arrested while illegals run wild and shut down schools, businesses,

I said the same thing a couple of weeks ago. That when Americans start fighting back, it would be the grovernment arresting American citizens rather than the illegals.

Want an anti flag burning law? Simple. Gather an assortment of flags from around the world. Every so often, pick one at random, (except ours), plus 1 UN Flag, throw in a Mex. flag, and burn away. Bingo, presto, mission accomplished.
