"We" Republicans...so high toned, so principled

I'm a bit more sympathetic than you toward frustrated conservatives.

But I do agree that voting on principle includes considering the likely consequences of our vote.

We need to distinguish between voting on principle and throwing a tantrum.

"Might as well have all Democrats, the Republicans are acting just like them"

I'm sure the D's will nominate judges like Alito and Roberts. Staying home because you can't get exactly what you want might lead to you getting exactly what you don't want.

No--I'll be responding to the total disregard of the Republican party for those who worked tirelessly for years to gain a majority.

Wonder how many illegals are getting registered to VOTE AS WE SPEAK?...

If 500,000 will come out for mere rally in one city.. Illegals voting.. could have an impact.. I mean MORE impact than normal massive democrat voter fraud in most every election..

You know; the massive voter fraud that cowardly republicans are afraid to consider.. or EVEN MENTION...

Question: Will doing literally NOTHING about voter fraud encourage more of it?..

Most Democrat politicians belong in the "big house" as far as I am concerned.

Dims are banking on voter fraud----they are lining up the illegals---these people use phony documentation to get to vote. They will be pulling those levers as many times as possible.

EXHIBIT ONE

FReepers should alert law enforcement authorities---the FBI, the USDOJ, ICE-----and regulatory agencies, the SEC---to instances of wrongdoing, and ask law-enforcement organizations to determine the culpability of government officials complicity in failing to enforce laws governing the activities of illegal aliens. Government officials and election agencies allowing illegals to vote using phony documentation engender other wrongdoing.

The financial interests of holders of tax-exempt municipal bonds, transportation and school bonding issues are jeopardized when government officials engage in
fiduciary negligence, use government monies inappropriately (to aid and abet illegal activity), and ignore law-breaking within their borders. EMAIL your concerns to enforcment@SEC,gov.

Elected officials are violating their oaths of office by not adhering to the law, and by failing to act as required when receiving complaints of known incidences of illegal wrongdoing, and by failing to follow government-mandated regulatory reviews.

This is a violation of public servant's Penal Law .135.60 COERCION IN THE SECOND DEGREE (a Class A misdemeanor). PENAL LAW 135.60

(Committed on or after September 1, 1967) is Coercion in the Second Degree. When an individual uses or abuses his/her position as a public servant by performing some act within or related to his or her official duties, or by failing or refusing to perform an official duty, in such manner as to affect some person adversely. Perform any (other) act which would not in itself materially benefit1the actor but which is calculated to harm another person materially with respect to his or her health, safety, business, calling, career, financial condition, reputation or personal relationships. The term(s), ("crime"), ("public servant") used in this definition has its own special meaning in our law.

EXHIBIT TWO If duly elected officials, under oath of office, are aiding and abetting illegals:

to break US laws,
to use phony documents at municipal agencies
to take job payments under the table,
to facilitate IRS violations,
to facilitate corporate accounting fraud,
to obtain the unlawful right to vote in US elections, and,

if elected and appointed officals did, in fact, allow illegals to break the law to serve on official municipal councils, and if illegals are making votinf and/or monetary (taxing) decisions for U.S. citizens, and, if elected and appointed officials took campaign contributions from said illegals, and in the process, deliberately ignored US laws in exchange for campaign
contributions, this could be characterized as extortion, and/or bribery, and a violation of The Hobbs Act.

The Hobbs Act was used recently to nail four Tenn state legislators and their aids in an extortion scheme. The TENN groups was arrested under the federal Hobbs
Act, charging extortion, conspiracy to extort and attempted extortion, and accepting bribes by an agent of the state. The Hobbs Act covers extortion by public officials, as follows: 2403 Hobbs Act -- Extortion By Force, Violence, or Fear

The Hobbs Act regulates extortion and robbery, which Congress has determined have a substantial effect on interstate and foreign commerce by reason of their
repetition and aggregate effect on the economy. Therefore, the proscribed offenses fall within the category of crimes based on the Commerce Clause whose "de minimis character of individual instances arising under [the] statute is of no consequence."

Primary investigative jurisdiction of offenses in 18 U.S.C. § 1951 lies with the FBI. The Inspector General's Office of Investigations, Division of Labor Racketeering (formerly the Office of Labor Racketeering), United States Department of Labor, is also authorized to investigate violations of 18 U.S.C. § 1951 in labor-management disputes involving the extortion of property from employers by reason of authority conferred on nvestigators as Special Deputy United States Marshals. Supervisory jurisdiction over 18 U.S.C. § 1951 is exercised by the following offices with respect to the offenses noted:

1. Extortion under color of official right or extortion by a public official through misuse of his/her office is supervised by the Public Integrity Section, Criminal Division.

2. Extortion and robbery in labor-management disputes is supervised by the Labor-Management Unit of the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section, Criminal Division.

3. All other extortion and robbery offenses not involving public officials or labor-management disputes are supervised by the Terrorism and Violent Crimes Section, Criminal Division.

Rush's classic test : grant everything in the senate bill to the illegals *except* the right to vote (after the illegals are legalized), then observe the Democrats' reaction. That will tell us all we need to know.

(Actually I had thought of this last night before Rush went on the air with it today)

"Democrat or Democrat-lite.

Some choice.

I know I'm not motivated to head out to the polls come NOV."

First of all, the run-off is in May.

Second, while I'm disappointed that the pro-abortion Bilbray will be the GOP nominee in the run-off, we still need to make sure he wins. Busby would be a disaster, and if she wins it will motivate Democrat fundraising and squelch Republican fundraising nationwide.

Third, you'll get another shot at nominating a real Republican at the June 6 primary for the November election. At the June 6 primary, Bilbray will not be able to count on votes from Democrats, since it's a GOP-only primary. Hopefully, some of the conservative Republicans running for the House seat will drop out so that the conservative majority isn't split among enough candidates so as to allow Bilbray to win the nomination.

But whatever you do, make sure you go vote, and tell your conservative friends to do so as well. You can't let a liberal Democrat such as Busby win in a suburban Southern California district that gave President Bush 55%, or there will be terrible repercussions in the electoral landscape.

Of the 35 seats that are competitive, how many are GOP. Lets say that 20 are.

Lets say that DEMS win all 20 and lose none.

That gives the DEMS 221 seats 3 more than needed for majority....if you want to see an absolute DEM meltdown watch SF lib Nancy Pelosi try and govern a 3 seat majority caucus made up of scared freshmen memebers who won close elections in GOP districts helped by depressed GOP turnout...for all the teeth nashing over the GOPs incompetence, Dennny Hastert has been one of the most successful speakers. He guided most of what GW Bush wanted in 2001-02 with only 223 seats. Meanwhile in 1993 Tim Foley couldnt keep 250+ DEMS in line for tax increases (passed by one vote)and Hillarycare didnt even make it out of comittee......a 221 DEM House will be an absolute riot

Political victories are rarely won by pursuing a "we aren't the other guy" strategy.

Democrats have no real agenda apart from the tired old pro-abortion, pro gay agenda, higher taxes, retreat and surrender sing-song. They may pick up a few seats, but nothing of lasting significance.

I'm gonna get flamed for this, but the only thing Republicans have going for them is that they're not Democrats.

And THAT isn't even true in some cases.

Ugh

Not only would the Dems have a bare majority, they would have it going into the 2008 election cycle--the one for all the marbles. They have already signaled their intention to waste it screaming "impeachment!" That will not secure them any momentum going into 2008. Quite the contrary.

As incompetent as the Republican Party sometimes is, it has, in the post-modern Democrat Party's profound political tone-deafness, been blessed with a gift that just keeps on giving.

If I could wave a magic wand, I would give the DEMS 220 seats in the House and 50-49-1 in the Senate (VT will go socialist)...American people dont care, or even know, how big a majority is, only that you have it.

It would completely destroy Hillarys chances in 2008. The voters in 1994 didnt trust Bill/Foley, there is no way theyll trust Nancy/Hillary.

The GOP does need to be taught a lesson. They have forgotten the spirit of 1994. They care more about their precious committe chairmanships than anything else.

however, part of me fears not a 20 seat DEM gain but a 50 seat one. In 1982, it was 25 seats for the DEMS. 25 seats would give the DEMS 226 or about 5 less than the GOP has now.

of course the MSM plus all the "experts" would declare on election night 2006, that even the 2008 election is over..the future is not a stright line projection of the present.

The DEMS lost in 1994 because they were too liberal...the GOP loses this year it isnt cuz the voter is rejecting conservatism, it is because of corruption, incompetence and well acting like liberals..thus 2006 isnt like 1994, it is more like 1946 if the GOP loses.

If the Republicans lose their majority in the House this year, I don't think the Dems' "corruption and incompetence" gambit will play a significant role in the outcome. The voters think ALL politicians are corrupt and incompetent.

The real threat to the Republican majority in Congress is the strong likelihood of a depressed Republican voter turnout on election day. But even then, there are indications that the Democrats' base is just as weary and unmotivated. The Dem leadership is thumping its chest and its MSM supporters are forecasting an incredible Democrat turnaround. But that same enthusiasm is not necessarily evident in the Democratic Party's rank and file.

Consider the immigration reform issue, which the Democratic Party leadership spins as presaging the groundswell of Hispanic support for Democratic candidates. What they conveniently ignore is the strong and widespread antipathy among rank and file blacks to the Dem leaderships' mollycoddling of illegal aliens. Bottom line: if blacks remain angry and dispirited, they are less likely to bother showing up to vote. Whatever gains the Dems might win on the Hispanic side of the ledger are likely to canceled by depressed black voter turnout.
