I'd bet that the professors who felt "unsafe" have not even read those books. It is the ideas that are unsafe and they wouldn't want to be exposed to such ideas.

DISCUSSION ABOUT:

"OSU librarian slapped with “sexual harassment” charge over conservative books for freshmen "

The left only believes in free speech and free press when their views are being expressed -- everything else is a form of "hate"!

Apparently, being conservative is now a crime. Send in the thought police! Time for a little re-education.

It's not surprising to me. Sexual harassment is a catch-all type of charge used not only to suppress free speech and other constitutional rights, but also in personal vendettas.

I remember when I went into a Borders Bookstore in Massachusetts to look for a copy of "Unfit for Command". When I asked, the clerk looked like I put a dog turd under his nose. He smugly looked up and said "No, we don't have it..."

So I said, "Fine. I would like to order a copy."

His face was...priceless!

Savage was put under “investigation” by OSU’s Office of Human Resources...

Better to have a sister in a whorehouse than a brother at OSU!

Of course the same could be said of M and MSU.

, saying that the book suggestions made them feel “unsafe.”

If these book suggestions make them feel unsafe, then God help them if they should actually get into a logical debate with anyone. They'd probably pee their pants in fear.

Something's missing from this story, like why an investigation for sexual harassment would make sense. Something has been omitted here which is needed to understand what's going on.

Because in the new, pagan, femilezi mantra, sexual harassment is whatever a WOMAN wants it to be. ANYTHING AT ALL!!

When I left Houston Texas, it was to the point where if a man disagreed with a woman (this regards legitimate business disagreements), the woman would accuse the man of raping her. (First hand experience with Memorial Health Care System).

On the other end of the spectrum, Book Stop has a "employees choice" section of books, and one of the choices was "Michael Moore Is a Big, Fat, Stupid White Man." The employee's comment was "'nuff said."

That probably rates an "only in Texas," though.

For one thing, I, myself, am an openly conservative professor and I know of at least two others. We've never had a problem. I've spoken out negatively and publicly at "diversity workshops" and never had a problem. For another thing, our student population tends to be relatively conservative. Ann Coulter and others like her come here and get treated politely. If something like what appears to have happened at OSU happened here, I think there would be quite an outcry.

God help her, too. She will need Him. My son has been pretty conservative as a teenager, but now that he is in the closed society of OSU, he has begun to question most of what he grew up with. Right now, he thinks he is smarter than his parents. I have every confidence that he will grow out of that, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Then HOW could a man even talk to a woman about ANYTHING, in such a case, without fear of a false rape charge??

I am sure the women in that area did not have many male friends, if that was the case!!

What we need to do, among other things, is:

(1)Make sure the Board of Trustees knows what the faculty is doing

(2) In the case of a state funded university, make sure the legislature knows the situation.

(3) Get the Republicans to demand defunding (state and federal) of universities who allow these Leftist creeps to turn the universities into Marxist indocrination centers.

You really don't understand. They are engaged in a revolutionary struggle to create the New Man (or Womyn or Transexual or whatever) who will Inhabit The New Revolutionary One World Socialist Paradise. They are Uberhuman, above good and evil, and above hypocrisy.

This is outrageous considering how the American Library Association knowingly and intentionally pushes pornography on children in a manner to cause the widest dispersal to children. But let a librarian recommend conservative books and it creates an "unsafe" environment, for professors, no less! See our page and what we said about this here:

The cafe is crawling with aging hippies and UVA students. Many of them I suspect are law students since it's just down the hill from the law school. I'm counting about eight students with laptops within about 15 feet of me right now. I drew attention initially not because I had FR on the screen, but because I'm using a Mac iBook. Tonight, no one has taken notice.

Thank God when I go into Barnes and Nobles normally we don't have to put up with that. However, with the university so close to where you go you would have a higher liberal population. Good luck running them off with your conservative sites. Actually that is funny is it like showing the crusifix to vampires.

I wasn't being sarcastic. This stuff is never enforced here. The supporters of such nonsense are always on the run. We have a pretty strong conservative student group here. I'll bet PSU is the fairest and most rational school in the Big 10.

I hope so. I really hope so. But let's remember that
this will also be a "deterrent" to other conservatives.
Going back a few years, conservative librarians have felt
constrained to write and publish anonymously (several
articles in the Jewish Press come to mind)

Local B&Ns (and IIRC, the Borders) megastores in NYC
stock books such as _ Unfit For Command _ the Regnery
book about the Clinton impeachment (Regnery being the
publisher), Kupelian, and Lynne's book about Terri Schiavo
and have put at least 1-2 of them out on the "featured"
tables. I wonder if that's not an effect of competition
at work (since there's more than one mega-store in NYC)
