Skip to comments.Shep Smith Belongs On CNN

This guy is on there now talking down the war effort. Talking down Rummy. Telling his guest (General) "this Administration wants Americans to believe Saddam was responsible for 9/11." This guy is so transparent. He's better off in "The Situation Room" with Blitzer and Cafferty. Touting the six retired Officers calling for Rummy's head. Shep is just trashing the effort. Drama Queen.
anyone else watch Dayside when Linda Vester was on? She's on a 1 year maternity leave but what a Republican babe.
So what? If Alan Colmes came to work in drag, I'd be cheering, because he represents the left.
Fox News Channel anchor Shepard Smith was arrested by Florida police in November 2000 and charged with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle after arguing with another reporter over a parking space (both were covering the Bush-Gore Florida vote debacle).
Shep's supposed to be fair and balanced, not unbiased.
All humans are biased. "Unbiased" journalism is what liberals call their outfits, like the NYT and CBS.
Shep is real, biased, sometimes over the top, but fair and balanced. That's why I like watching his show.
That's the Foxnews way. Its hosts don't have to hide their bias, they just have to allow time for the other side to offer an opposing viewpoint.
The alternative, the CNN and BBC "unbiased" journalists put me to sleep; besides, the "unbiased" reporters are the most biased of them all.
Thank you for your opinion.
Oh! Absolutely! I'm glad FNC snagged that program. Now I don't have to channel surf to find it.
I do admit I watch Fox News Watch with Eric Burns every week.
I do believe that Shep's shows are supposed to be more NEWS shows than anything....and his opinions are just irritating, but, when he spouts WRONG facts, then he should be called out.
I think the the closest Bush or Cheney have ever come to "linking" Saddam and 9/11...was when Cheney was saying that that sort of terrorism is in play in Saddam's Iraq as well as with Bin Ladin..
I may be wrong, but I don't think either have directly linked them...just like they have NEVER said that Iraq was an "IMMINENT THREAT"...which is another false statement the left keeps perpetuating.
"LOL, nice try."
what do you think I was trying to do?
My intent was to criticize the Vice President for his handling of 9/11 resposibilty with his talks to press. I stand by my opinion that he has served the President poorly on this issue.
Shep told the crowd, "Don't jeer me. I'm with you guys. It's the CNN guys that ones you want to protest."
It was a hoot.
Bingo on that.
He will probably never replace El Rushbo - in my opinion - but I love John Gibson on the radio. I can take or leave Sean.
The Drama Queen was on Hannity's radio show during that fiasco breathlessly claiming that children were dying in the street. Sean asked him to clarify whether or not he actually saw that happening, and Shep hemmed and hawed then changed the subject.
"He will probably never replace El Rushbo"
I think the one that would come closest to replacing Rush would be Mark Levin. Im glad we have both though. :)
Tired of bashing President Bush so now you're onto bashing Vice President Cheney.
Don't watch Dayside without her. Can't stand Huddy.
Please come back soon, Linda!!
He belongs on a soap opera.Maybe he is prepping for a new gig.He was pathetic during Katrina.Im sure Fox will supply him with plenty of kleenex for his next big show.At least to keep his mascara from running.
I am so tired of people saying "Shep ,and others (Whorealdo, now Gavin newsome's Ex Kimberly Guilfoyle etc.)provide insulation from cries of Right Wing bias at FOX. FOX seems "Right Wing" to the critics because they provide both sides. We appreciate FOX because they don't play the game in the same manner as the others.
What bothers me here is that our people in Iraq watch FOX News. My best friend (Army Colonel) and Brother In Law (Marine-Camp Fallujah) are just back. Told me they depend on FOX News for their broadcast news. They didn't need Shep taking up for the naysayers.
I feel better now. Neil Cavuto is cleaning up Shep's mess. Fair And Balanced.
Same here... the rest is just fuaxNEWS.
There was a link between al-Qaida and Iraq. The current leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Zarqawi, was living in Iraq before the coalition invasion.
Furthermore, many al-Qaida operatives were using Iraqi passports before 2002. Even one of the World Trade Center bombers in 1993 fled to Iraq.
Since Iraq was a totalitarian state under Saddam Hussein, it's obvious that the Iraqi dictator was looking the other way or cooperating with al-Qaida operatives.
So, yes, there was a link between Saddam Hussein Iraq and al-Qaida.
Nevertheless, it has not been proven that Saddam Hussein was directly involved in 9/11.
But you have a point..if Shep came out of the closet (no pun intended), I could accept that.

Just emailed and suggested he was auditioning to replace Baghdad Bob!
I would bet that good ole Shep got a ton of nasty emails about his comment regarding Iraq and 9/11 and his omission of an equal number of retired generals who have come out in complete support of Rummy. Shep needs to get a clue, FNC viewers don't watch to hear dnc talking points, we watch to get the facts and both sides of the story. I'm glad you wrote too.
Yes, Fox has become SO balanced it looks just like CNN or MSNBC used to look with all their leftovers and re-treads that they got rid of for lack of ratings. I have stopped watching Fox just as I quit watching CNN and PMSNBC even though I am a news junkie, as everything on TV is left-wing propaganda IMO.
Pretty little Shep has always made me want to puke, but I suspect that Fox is hoping to attract a certain type of viewer by giving him 2 hrs./day. Good thing he's not on opposite Keith Olbermann or they would be splitting the same audience!

Don't you go making stuff up now... : )
The catcher! : )
Oh, I'm sorry... Maybe I answered a different question... hehehe
not to mention he cant relate how all radical muslims are only working for one thing and all are connected by the (religion of peace) nationality does not matter to them.
I would to see Pat Caddell(a sane Dem),the toe sucking Dem operative Bob Beckell and either Laura ,Ann or Michele in his time slot as some sort of round table discussion. I loved Monica but could not stomach the disgusting ronnie reagan
I sure am glad you mentioned Paul Gigot's show...it has become my favorite, next to Brit's show...
I had to stop watching Dayside after she left...
I have written several e-mails BEGGING for them to bring her back..it is about time for another one.
We kept women have alot in common!
Shep is and always was a lightweight.
Why do you watch Newswatch...to throw things at Neil Gabler???
LOL...I DO watch it also..but every week I wonder why Fox won't put at least one "real" conservative on there.
I think Fox has made a mistake by not replaying Gibson's show in the evening...they replay BOR that comes on 3 hours later...but not Gibson's?? Ridiculous.
"Sheep-herd"Smith and i am not surprised! Most of these joke generals achieved their rank under peace time conditions and served under Clinton too, plus they stayed in long enough to get a big retirement so why not quit and go on the tv circuit.Doubt if any were ever in combat.
Well...you just made both MY point, AND VP Cheney's then, didn't you. Because neither of us has ever said that Saddam was directly linked to 9/11...
BUT, don't be surprised when all of the documents are translated...that we find out it was closer than we know now.
one guy talking to cavuto said that zinni guy might have politcal ambitions, replacing rumsfeld in a kerry or clinton administration
I didn't see the interview that davidtalker referenced...I have seen others that are similar...
BUT, I would really be HOT if I saw him "dissing" McInerny, who is one of my favorite "military experts" that Fox uses.
I've always liked him since he parked his rental car on top of the local reporterette who was standing in a parking spot trying to save it for someone else. Anyone who makes a hood ornament out of a reporter is okay by me...even if they're a reporter themself.
Yes, I agree with you. That's why I just wanted to supply more facts to your terse statement.
By the way, all those facts have been presented in Foxnews. That's why I like the channel.
The rest of the media keep lying about President Bush directly linking Iraq with 9/11, especially the "unbiased" networks with soft-spoken hosts.
Add the weekday Fox & Friends and I'm with you.
Hey Shep, DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL.
