Prayers for Paul Weyrich
Vanity
Posted on 04/16/2006 5:05:54 PM PDT by pravknight
I am asking for all Freepers to keep Paul Weyrich in your prayers. I am a personal friend of Mr. Weyrich's from Holy Transfiguration Melkite Church in McLean,VA, and his wife Joyce has told me that Paul has been in the hospital for the past week undergoing tests. He is diabetic, and an infection of some kind developed in his upper body that required him to receive a blood transfusion.
Mrs. Weyrich said he has beens severely anemic, and that condition was severe enough to require the blood transfusion early last week. Paul is a beloved member of our parish community, and his condition was severe enough for him to miss his beloved Holy Week services for the first time in years.
Please pray for his health and recovery

I saw Mrs. Weyrich last night at our Pascha services, and she was in good spirits though. If anyone could see the perfect couple, it's the Weyrichs. She loves her husband dearly, and it shows.

Paul has fought the good fight over a lot of years, and he has made a difference. Let's hope he will have many more years. May the Lord be with him and his family.

I wheeled Mr. Weyrich through the streets of Vancouver, BC in September 1999 as part of a junket with the Amtrak Reform Council. I took turns with his aide Bridget O'Sullivan pushing his chair. This was back when he still had his legs.
I hope he recovers from this.

Wasn't "Chapita" a close friend of Paul? I think I remember "Chapita" writing about Paul often. God bless Chapita, we Mississippians miss him. Any friend of "Chapita" is a friend of mine.
God Bless you, Paul, on this Easter Sunday.

Met and spent some delightful time with the esteemed Paul Weyrich when he and former Marine Commandant, General Lew Walt came down to Georgia to campaign for Larry McDonald in 1982.
Prayers up for this fine man and patriot.

That he is. I consider him one of my closest friends. I am considerably younger than he at 31, and he often has acted as a father figure in my life.
If I need good personal advice, he always is there to give it.
When he met my current girlfriend, he told me that I had best do everything I can to hold on to her because he thinks we should get married. He was very excited when I told him about her.
She's been minding me to send him a card signed by the two of us.
He's a very close friend, and I too, can say he is probably one of the few genuine individuals in American politics.

Joining your FReeper family in prayer ...
Heavenly Father, we return to thank You for Paul's faithfulness these many years despite his physical challenges ... may it be, Merciful Father, that he will yet again be sustained, and restored, through the Grace of Your healing hand. Make known the means to his medical team for the cleansing of his blood ... reveal the medicines that will take away his infection ... may encouragement and victory be his portions, to the Glory and Honor of Your Name. Return him to the challenges of conservative thought and action, refreshed and renewed, that he might continue to be a Blessing to our beloved country. In the Name of Jesus we pray, Amen ...

Paul Weyrich is a true American hero. He would never sell out the conservative causes he so passionatley believes in, and he has maintained a style and grace that I wish more folks had in D.C., and I'm grateful for his tireless work and his sense of duty. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and I hope he recovers soon.

Prayers for Paul's health and recovery.
The message of Easter is that our inperfect natural bodies that are subject to sickness and disease may give way but our spiritual bodies are eternal. May you find comfort knowing that Paul will always be there no matter what happens.
