The IRS is like a virus or a worm, maybe they can come up with a cure.

Whoops! That's a bit of an oversight. Decimal point gets me everytime too.

Maybe their taxes are late because of a virus on their computer.

Symantec sucks, they probably used one of their own programs to prepare their tax return, or something.

You may be right. They were probably running System Works 2006 and it screwed their computer up like it did mine. Maybe their tech support will know more about taxes than they did about System Works! Then again they probably only know about taxes in Bangalore.

Looks like Veritas is going to cost a lot. I hope they think it was really worth it.

I uninstall Norton on ALL my customers' computers, and install AVG free. People are always so surprised when I tell them that Norton is causing most of their problems.

Tell me about it. That still doesn't stop the goombas from the ITS dept. from trying to install it on my office computer everytime they do any work on it.
Bleh, been drinking tonight.. almost posted a long rant about how ITS is screwing up my life this week =P

No wonder they keep asking to upgrade.

I'll have to give it a try. I'm using Norton, it does seem to slow things down. I also hate the renewal fee. You'd think they'd make it cheaper to renew over the internet. I've always gone to CompUSA, bought the update and saved $. Makes no sense, must really reduce profits.
McAfee was even worse. That came with one of my PCs and really bogged things down.

You're welcome!
IMHO, AVG is every bit as good, even better, than Symantec. And AVG runs very light and does not load down your system as much as Symantec.
Just remember to keep the virus definition database updated on a regular basis. I update every Fri evening, for sure, and usually at least one more time sometime during the week.
What are you running for a firewall?
