My best friend called this morning, in a panic, because her baby, Tracey, will be deployed to Iraq in a few months. Turns out he finagled a transfer because he wants to go. She's proud of him, but also very frightened.
So please pray for not only Tracey, but Nora as well. Mainly pray for Tracey's safety and his mom's peace of mind, but also for their general well being.
Thanks. I'm proud of my Godson. :-)
Tracey and family will be in my prayers.
Tell Nora that the vast majority of Americans who go to Iraq come back just fine. ;-)
I'm proud of your Godson, too. I will gladly keep his family in my prayers, and please express my family's sincere gratitude for his defense of our freedom.

Prayers going out. My daughter came back in February after a year. Start reading the real news stories, and send them to your friend.
Oh man. I hope I didn't triple or quadruple post this, or worse. First I had something else I wanted to add, which I'll follow up with after I post this, and I stopped it and added my extra thoughts, and then kept getting a message, "temporarily unavailable."
One more thing: I plan to print out this thread and mail it to Nora and Tracey, so if you want to share words of encouragement with them, please feel free to do so.
Thanks again.
I'll say a prayer for his safety. I'll also say one to thank God for giving us young men like Tracey who are willing to risk their lives to protect our freedom.
I will pray for the young man. GREAT news.. My nephew just came back from Iraq this week. We are all so happy. He just married 6 weeks before he was deployed. They are so happy to be back in one another's arms.
We prayed for him the whole time he was over there and we always pray for all of our military. They are our brave heroes....
Prayers up, hugs out! Many thanks from me and my family.
He's in God's Hands. Prayers for him, his family, for all.

I will keep him in my prayers. He is doing the right thing and is doing it for all of us.
My son is over there now.
They, as well as the contractors, are indeed part of the greatest generation!
Prayers from TX
The Lord be with him
The chances of dying in Iraq are 0.0002%
The odds of dying in the streets of Chicago on a Friday after midnight are much higher.
Viva le Bush
My prayers go out to your godson and I only wish my son grows up to be as brave as your him.
Tracey-Thank you so much for your service. Please pass on to your fellow heroes that the main of America loves and supports them. OTH, d*mn the left, politicians playing politics and MSM. Godspeed....
Offering my prayers
A. He's not a baby. Sounds like man to me.
B. Probably the terrorist that need to be worried, not you and your friend.
C. I pray that he serves with courage and honor.
We will keep Tracey and Nora in our prayers. Please convey our gratitutde for his defense of our country.
This may not be real encouraging to Tracey's famliy, but Tracey might as well know how it tends to work.
The first three months or so here are an adjustment phase and can be tough.
When it comes near the end of that first year, he'll be so excited about getting home.
After a couple of weeks home, he will have a burning desire to come back. (I'm not kidding.) I can't explain why that is, but it has happened to virtually everyone I have known who has come to this place, military and civilian alike.
Prayers up.
Prayers of safety going up for Tracey, and of support and comfort for Nora. God Bless them both.
God Bless all of them. My son is currently in the USMC and on his second tour, in less than two years. My heart goes out to your friend, because only a mother can understand the pure fear, that conterdicts the pride in a situation like this. God protects them...
Prayers for strength, courage and safety.
You're absolutely correct. Tracey is no baby. I worded it that way in the sense that a mother's youngest child is always her baby, and I'm sure my friend is thinking of her son that way right now as she worries for him. It's a mother thing.
So Tracey, if you're reading this, I hope you don't take offense at me calling you a baby because there's no doubt there, but you'll always be Nora's baby, even when you're 50 years old.
Allegra, I'm sure Tracey will benefit from your words of experience. Thanks.
alnick, you've been in my prayers every night and I will add Tracey and his family to those on-going prayers. God Bless all of you.
Thank you mass55th. We appreciate your prayers. As for me, I'm still waiting on the latest test results. I'll post an update when I learn something new.
God Bless this guy! He has my prayers, thanks, and respect.
Marines, Army? Take heart that the probability of a military member becoming a casualty is very low.
Navy, actually. From what I understand, he was supposed to be on a ship, but managed to get some kind of transfer so that he could be on the ground in Iraq.
The Navy has very few casualties in Iraq. Navy medics serve with the Marines, and Navy Seals are involved in special ops.
My Daughter was there with the Army and Cousin with the Marines (he was in some nasty fighting in ANBAR). They tell me we are winning.
And he's got my prayers and thanks also.
I have one son and two brothers there right now. He'll be in good company.

I'm heading out of the country on Sunday for about 33 days, but will be logging into FR when I can find an internet cafe. I'll be looking for updates on you and Tracey. Take care and God Bless.
Prayers for your Godson.
Mom's worry.
My prayers always include our brave young men and women in harm's way. God Bless them and bring them home safely. They are the best!
Just sent a prayer for all concerned. What a terrific godson!
Please post your replies to alnick
alnick, My prayers going up for Tracey and his family. God's protection for Tracey...God's comfort for his family.
Blessings,

If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.
Thank him for his brave service
For Tracey:
O God, I beseech You, watch over those exposed to the horror of war, and the spiritual dangers of a soldiers or sailors life.
Give them such a strong faith that no human respect may ever lead them to deny it, nor fear ever to practice it. By Your grace, O God, fortify them against the contagion of bad example, that being preserved from vice, and serving You faithfully, they may be ready to meet you face to face when they are so called: through Christ our Lord. Amen
For Tracey's Family:
I asked the Lord to Bless you as I pray for you today to guide you and protect you as you go along your way.
His love is always with you His promises are true, And when we give him all our cares You know He will see you through.
So when the road you're traveling on Seems difficult at best Just remember I'm praying and God will do the rest. Amen
Thank you, Tracey, for your service to our country. Sending prayers for your safety and success of mission.
They are in my prayers. Your godson is a hero.
Prayers to our Lord.
Prayers sent for Tracey and Nora.
Iraq is safer than many American inner cities. And most certainly safer than the American Interstate system. Be brave.
I am joined in prayer for Tracey!
