No. I am not a member of the Lincoln Club anymore. My connections are attenuated. I oppose Bush on his illegals proposals. I have my plan. He has his. Gilchrist has his. All three are different. Out of many, many. Cheers.

I don't think Irvine has any gated communities. It wasn't in the Irvine Company plan. So many suburbs, so little time. Cheers.

This is really getting to be over the top. Please explain how insulting a man who is standing up to terrorists and done more to stop them then any other President is going to solve the border problem?
As to the so called amenesty issue, guess what, something like it is going to happen. The majority in this country will not stand for massive deportation. And the courts won`t go for it either. AND MOST OF YOU KNOW THAT.
As for slandering the American worker, who is kidding who? We have almost no unemployment. If we throw out the current farm workers, are freepers going to pick strawberries? Yeah, right.
But, it`s your right to say anything you want, even if it makes no sense.

The Senate, House and White House are seriously confused about what is at issue and what is at stake here.

The issue of a guest worker program is completely separate from the issue of illegal aliens.

We have a guest worker program. It may need to be reformed but illegal aliens are those who have not applied to be guest workers. There are 11 million of them. (or more) The only thing needing reform now concerns illegal aliens and border security. We need to enforce the existing laws respecting the presence and employment of illegal aliens and border security.

Border security is the number one problem in this debate. The flood of illegal aliens is a major factor in relation to our lack of border security but it is only one factor. There is also a matter of national security in a time of war and in an age when terrorists have set their sights on inflicting mass destruction on our society.

After the issues of border security and millions of illegal foreign nationals on our soil the matter of guest workers is very small. Until the first two problems are thoroughly and firmly addressed the guest worker issue should not even be discussed.

Immigration and a guest worker program are separate issues from the above.

The President the Senate and the House need to get that message with unambiguous resolve.

Secure the border!

Crack down on employers!

Deport illegal aliens.

Bring in immigrants who have been waiting for years with papers in hand!

Now is the time to put the pressure on!

"According to this new bill that's tied up in the Senate, illegal immigrants who can prove they've been here for two years would be allowed to stay. So follow the logic here. If you can prove you broke the current law for two years, you've protected under the new law." --Jay Leno

Bush ought to admit the truth: that the traitors who hire illegal aliens won't hire Americans because illegals can be paid less.

The spectacle of pro-illegals trying to advance their cause by sophistry, straw-men, bogus data, personal attack, and avoidance of discussion is a wonder to behold.

It would be so much easier on them if they could just say: "I make a mint off them, and you can't expect me to give that up!"

I have been covering, psuedo-blogging, for years, a couple of the elements in WWIV ( III being the Cold War ), in which we find ourselves engaged.

The first element?

Islam, a Religion of Peace®? ( links, blogs, quips, quotes, aggravating pictures ) is located here- click the Pic, and scroll backwards:

The other, somewhat interlocking element is this one:

"Thunder on the Border," click the picture:

What is happening under the radar is that the alien lobby, certain elements of radical Islam, and some on the Left share common goals, tactics, and exploitations of our system and society.

Not a conspiracy, but rather a "coming together on common points." A confluence- becoming a tsumani...

OC/Irvine is like a white alamo. It's where the richer whites from LA want to live in gated communities to keep the "riffraff" out.

Thanks to Presidente Bush, this time around Santa Ana is winning and not just at the Alamo...

As to the so called amenesty issue

So-called? Are you denying that amnesty is at issue?

Tell us, bybybill, do illegal aliens in some way directly contribute to your livelihood?

It'll be interesting to see if Prez pulls out the "vigilante" card in Gilchrist's backyard.

No, never employed an illegal and don`t think it`s a good idea. But, I`m old enough to know that many of them are here and they aren`t going to get tossed out. The country has to figure out how to deal with it and I think the President is on the right track.
The bigger issue is how to stop more illegals. If the choice comes down to increased border control ( a fence) and earned "amnesty" or no action at all if there is "amnesty", is an easy call, at least for me.
Question: Why do you people have to insult some body with different views? Does that may you feel smarter? Or, could it be that you can`t make a counter argument/

Ask the open borders lobby.

In recent months, they've managed to call good patriotic Americans just about every name in the book.

I`m old enough to know that many of them are here and they aren`t going to get tossed out.

Rounding up and tossing out tens of millions of people is indeed an impossibility, so the perferred plan is to get them to self-deport. And the way to do that is to heavily fine employers who hire them, cut off their taxpayer freebies, and repeal the anchor baby laws. There'd then be no incentive for them to stay. ...or to come in the first place.
