Duke Rape Scandal: Perfect Storm for Race Hustlers and Anti-Male Feminists
LOS ANGELES- Outspoken critic of the liberal black establishment and mens rights advocate Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson, founder and president of BOND (Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny), today released the following statement about the treatment of the Duke lacrosse players charged with the rape and kidnapping of a 27-year-old black stripper:
The white student athletes in the Duke rape case are deemed guilty until proven innocent by anti-male feminists and liberal black leaders like Rev. Jesse Jackson because they are perceived as privileged southern white males. The treatment of these boys by the mainstream media is deplorable. The nation has overreacted to this case because it involves the alleged rape of a black woman by white males. The way this case is being handled is an example of race and sex discrimination. If these young men were black they would be treated with kid gloves; if the victim was a male this case would be laughed out of court. DNA tests have failed to connect these boys to this alleged crime; yet their mug shots are plastered in the media as if theyve already been found guiltywheres the photo of the alleged victim?
This case is proving that Americans are too sensitive when it comes to matters of race and sex. Liberal black leaders and feminists understand this and are exploiting this weakness for political gain. This situation calls for calm and reflective scrutiny. Thus far, the only thing these young men are guilty of is hiring a black stripper while white. The reputations and lives of these boys and their families are being destroyed partly because of the students own poor judgment, but primarily because of the double standard society uses in dealing with incidents involving race and gender.
Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson is the Founder and President of BOND (Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny), a nationally respected nonprofit organization that for the past 16 years has been providing unique programs and services designed to help men and their families. Rev. Peterson is also an author and columnist. For more information visit www.bondinfo.org

Has Jackson stated he believes the lacrosse players are guilty? I know about the scholarship offer to the accuser, and perhaps that is grounds for criticism, but I believe at the time he said he didn't know if the accusations were true or not.
Something not quite right about this supposed case. Had a stench from the beginning.
Not often that I feel the need to correct Rev. Peterson, but these aren't "boys", they're men. It's a minor nit-pick, but innocent or guilty, they should be treated as adults.
and they are not "privileged southern white males"
More of a lynch mob's consensus... than a trial.
No, but he is right that they are being perceived that way.
I posted an article but it looks like it was pulled. Comes from WRAL in Raleigh.. the second stripper made a comment: "Why shouldn't I profit from it?" she asked. "I didn't ask to be in this position ... I would like to feed my daughter."
That says it all right there.. article here:

Sorry, I just can't stand and hold any court or legal cases anymore. I am burned out and made a decision to just walk away from them and anyone that talks about them.
I thought that both of the accused were under 21.
Correct - they are privileged white Northern males! Big difference.
I happened to date a girl that grew up in the area (Garden City) that one of the accused did. Yeah, her parents house was in the high 6 figures, but it was basically a box house that anywhere else in the country it would be pressed to see for 6 digits. Yup, kids comes from million dollar houses and neighborhoods..

Actually, the accused are from New York.
I'd be offended if I were 18 or older and still called a "boy".
I have a 19 year old son and believe me, he is still a boy!
Hi,
I've been following this nightmare of a story for several days. Reverend Peterson left out the corruption in our court system. The DA is apparently so hell bent on reelection, he doesn't care whose lives are destroyed in the process. Thoroughly disgusting.
*gag* *choking on my coffee* Here's his MSNBC interview with Tucker Carlson:
"a lot of circumstantial evidence as this case is now breaking ... that some harm took place to this woman..."
"They were invited to the party, and it was a party of sex and drinking. And at some point it apparently got out of hand."
"There is growing evidence that she is not a false accuser."
"But two are facing indictment, it may break the code of silence of the other 38 or 40 who were in the room."
"40 men solicited the services of a womanof two women. And somewhere between their solicitation and whatever else they did, she ended up traumatized, perhaps drugged..."
"something happened that was traumatic."
"They [the other players] know what happened."
It's always the case that liberals find blacks "traumatized." If it isn't the racist English language, it's unconscious racism that accounts for lower black employment.
The paternalistic Left wouldn't have it any other way.
I just might order a Duke Lacrosse t-shirt in a show of solidarity to the idea of "innocent before proven guilty" and "not being crucified by the race baiters and media".
thanks for the ping...I think alot of the news writers and producers are acting as anti-social instigators rather than honest reporting.
...honest reporters
I can see a couple of salivating feminazi pundits minimizing the crime if a mob lynched the white guys. Right and wrong isn't a sliding scale for different groups - it should be the same, if credibility matters...
I missed the Tucker Carlson interview. Thanks for filling me in.
Lest I be misunderstood, I think it's perfectly in character for Jackson to say the players are guilty. I just hadn't heard about it.
Thanks so much for the ping, I was away yesterday and I'm glad you thought to ping me on this important issue.
