Kerry calls for Rumsfeld's resignation after new 'Bin Laden' tape

Kerry calls for Rumsfeld's resignation after new 'Bin Laden' tape

Washington - US Senator John Kerry on Sunday called on Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to resign following the airing of a new recording attributed to fugitive al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Bin Laden slipped past US troops from his hideout in the Tora Bora area of Afghanistan in late 2001 because Rumsfeld had not committed enough troops to finding him, Kerry, the Democratic Party candidate in the 2004 presidential election, told ABC television.

The failure to catch the al-Qaeda head on that occasion was one of the biggest catastrophes in the war against terrorism, Kerry added.

The US military says it has no information on the exact whereabouts of bin Laden, but suspects he is hiding somewhere along the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

In the voice recording aired Sunday by pan-Arab channel al- Jazeera, al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden said that the West was waging a crusade against Islam, which their boycott of Hamas and their intervention in Sudan proved.

'Their [the West's] boycott of Hamas confirmed that it is a crusade Zionist war against Muslims,' bin Laden said.

The recording was the first appearance of bin Laden in the Arab media since al-Jazeera aired a voice recording on January 19 in which the al-Qaeda leader offered the West an armistice.

In Sunday's recording, bin Laden said that the rejection by the West of his armistice was proof that the West opposed dialogue. The West was insisting on continuing a crusade war against 'our nation.'

Well, Bin Laden called for Bush's resignation, but I didn't notice that one happening either.

Obviously it doesn't trouble Kerry that he started his career in politics having the same talking points as the North Vietnamese, and will end it being the advocate for Bin Laden.

Since Osamma's message hints at Al Queda defeat, John "Surrender Now" Kerry's timing is just right?

"The West was insisting on continuing a crusade war against 'our nation.'"

Funny, I thought that Bin Laden was intent on continuing the Ottoman 150-year invasion against "my nation". Perhaps I am confused, and he's repeating the Moorish invasion. Then again, perhaps Bin Laden is repeating the Islamic invasions into Balkins... Gosh, I could be sooo wrong that Bin Laden is simply the latest in a long line of Islamic invaders into the Western world.

Well, recall that Bin Laden released a video just prior to our November 04 elections expressing his desire to have Kerry be the President (because he is a weakling on terrorism); its only fair the kerry return the favor and support Bin Laden. This american would expect nothing less from Senator Kerry, the traitor.

The comedy about Kerry's statement is that he NEVER would have caught OBL because he was saying the War On Terror was "the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time". He'd still be waiting for the French to tell him what to do.

I think Kerry should call for Bill Clinton's resignation since Bill failed on several occasions to take Bin Laden into custody. But, since Bill is no longer in office, Hillary's resignation will suffice.

let kerry go and catch binny!

rumsfeld is in the middle of allocating enough resources to get optimum results. he is trimming and streamlining everything. everyone is already squaking about cost of iraq and are afraid of upcoming expenditures / investents in peace / iran.

to kerry it doesnt matter what bush and rumsfeld do or say as it will always be wrong. poor fool is a bitch of a wife!

Kerry, where were you when:

" By May of 1996 the Sudanese had decided to get rid of bin Laden because he was becoming a problem there as well. They called the Clinton administration one last time and said, 'If you don't want him to go to Saudi Arabia, we're prepared to hand him over to you guys directly. And the Clinton administration's response to that was 'We don't have enough legal evidence against him." --Mansoor Ijaz

Ijaz, a major Clinton financial supporter brokered the 1996 bin Laden agreement

I disagree. John Kerry is not a dufuss. He may be a loser but he is at least smart enough to game the system. The real dufuss is the voter who continues to keep this jackass and the "Swimmer" in the US Senate. Thank you, Massachusetts!

Kerry and the rest of the Dims really don't care about all the issues they complain about on a daily basis. They are just tired of being in the minority. They want back in power so they can pass their agenda. You know, the agenda they don't talk about. The agenda that will be so destructive to our nation like nothing we have seen before.

Kerry loves to say the words "Tora Bora" -- Bin Laden's supposed escape from there probably one of the few talking points he made up all by himself, and he vewy, vewy proud of it.

And it rhymes, making it easier for him to remember.
