Sorry, but it is quite simple. You round up, detain, process and deport. It was done in the Central Valley of California for over 30 years. A detention center was located in Fresno, adjacent to the freeway 99. The illegals were arrested in the region, brought to the detention center, and loaded onto air conditioned INS busses. 6 hours later, they were at the border in Tijuana...and back in THEIR HOME COUNTRY. It worked just fine for over 30 years. Why will it not again? Hmmmmm?
That was in ONE AREA--Central California. You'll have to set up an area just like it in every county in the United States. It's no longer a localized problem.
Ahhhh I remember those days, the sight of green BP vans and buses running up and down the valley. *sigh*
Don't try to confuse them with facts. Their mind is made up and we simply cannot deport all of the illegals, ok? That's the story and everyone has to sing it.
The other part of the story is that we're a nation of immigrants, ok? We simply cannot distinguish between LEGAL immigration and ILLEGAL immigration, ok? Now that's the story, stick to it, ok?
The other part of the story is that deportation is a violation of their rights, ok? Illegals have rights, ok? Now sing that one too, in perfect harmony.
And they are here doing jobs that Americans won't do, ok? That's the clincher. Nevermind that REAL Americans are hocking family heirlooms to put gas in their cars, that's the story and we're all gonna stick to it, ok?
The Republicans make me sick.
Sounds good to me. Let local police ask to see green cards and if they dont have one detain the person until they prove they've got one. If they dont let them be held until they can be deported. I remember when INS would come into towns where Mexicans would be and go on raids looking for the ones without the greencards. This was back in the 70's but it worked. And this was in NJ. I am sick of hearing Mexicans do jobs Americans wont. We owe them nothing. Let them come into American the legal way.
But who would be building our homes, working in our restaurants, doing our landscaping, and working in food processing plants - all without documentation - instead of those Americans who don't want those jobs? (sarcasm). Our nation's businesses are as guilty as anyone in causing this problem. You are point on - it did work fine for 30 years, and until someone grows backbone and begins implementing laws already enacted, it will continue and get WORSE.
Reading these immigration threads, many say it would cost too much to send them back, while skirting around how much it is costing us to keep them here - sucking the lifeblood out of our hospitals, educational system and social programs meant for disadvantaged and disabled US citizens and devastating an already cripled social security program via fraud, identity theft, dishonesty and corruption. Has anyone ever heard of an audit on our social security system? Perhaps it is long past due.
