McCarthy in Denial
By The Prowler
4/26/2006 12:08:54 AM
Outed CIA analyst Mary McCarthy is denying through her lawyers that she was the source for the Washington Post's Dana Priest in revealing the secret prisons that housed terrorists overseas. McCarthy's lawyers, though, aren't throwing cold water on the notion that McCarthy may have had political inclinations and agendas that came into play with what even they termed unauthorized or undisclosed contacts with journalists.
Perhaps that's why the Howard Dean and others at the Democrat National Committee are looking to some of their donors to set up a legal defense fund for McCarthy.
"If Scooter Libby can have a legal defense fund and website, then McCarthy should have one too," says a DNC staffer. "The DNC wouldn't set it up, we'd have some of our donors do it on the outside. There are plenty of consultants willing to help on this one, we think." ...

Good thing we have the famously unbiased
Los Angeles Times to reassure us that McCarthy is not political:
Fired CIA Officer Likely Won't Face Charges Over Leak
Former colleagues described her as cautious and respected. "I thought she was a competent, quiet, good intelligence officer," said Richard J. Kerr, a former deputy CIA director who worked with McCarthy. "She was certainly someone you had respect for and saw not as an ideologue or someone who would end up putting herself in this position."
I'd hate to see what would have happened if she was political.

DNC--PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEASE DO THIS!

why is anyone surprised?
I bet there are some low key, big$$$ donors that are tripping over themselves to support a traitor.
The trial lawyer associations are in their pockets so they should have no problem finding some useful idiot to do this pro bono.
After all she did give the Dems a lot of money over the last few years.

My, it is so interesting that the DNC immediately assumes..... i.e., KNOWS, that she is on "their team" and they must arrange her legal defense fund (with as few fingerprints as possible, naturally). This supposedly non-partisan professional (HA HA) is instantly embraced by the DNC......... how revealing is THAT?

Just exchanged email with a liberal friend who defended her with the usual "speaking truth to power" arguments. He was glad she "spoke out" about torture in secret prisons. Because I objected to her law-breaking, I was, ergo in favor of torture. And that THIS administration needs to learn how to deal with dissent. I feel like I was tortured.

The DNC/MSM political Party, already have their defense fund running.
It's called not reporting, speculating, discussing, running film footage of Mary, not taking polls, no interviews of "experts" in treason laws, no calling her guilty before a trial, ect.
THIS is over, what more proof do we need that we are NOT winning,
To: Sam Hill

Kerr, a former deputy CIA director who worked with McCarthy. "She was certainly someone you had respect for and saw not as an ideologue or someone who would end up putting herself in this position." Sort of sounds like the neighbors talking about the really quiet, friendly guy next door after a dozen bodies are found buried in his basement.
Hint: Moles, spies and saboteurs always do their best to "blend in" and look normal.

Two big differences tootz. Libby's defense fund was not spearheaded by Ken Mehlman and "set up" by the RNC. Secondly, Libby's position was, by definition, political whereas McCarthy's is necessarily NOT.

Just part of the traitorous democrat party organized crime gang.

I will bet anyone a crisp clean $100.00 bill that if investigated thoroughly, this will trace back to the Kerry campaign. Look how many of the players were involved in his campaign, and were probably promised appointments if he would have won.
Kerry is in this up to his neck.

Bingo! I'd love to see them set up a defense fund for her. They'll look like idiots, trying to defend their position.
To: rhombus
He was glad she "spoke out" about torture in secret prisons. Tell your liberal friend that has not been established, just speculation by talking heads, that McCarthy leaked the "secret overseas prisons" where alleged torture was conducted.
Furthermore, It has not been confirmed by the CIA that secret prisons ever existed. The EU Intelligence office, investigated, and could not find any evidence that any secret prison existed.
The CIA claims McCarthy leaked classified info. and made unauthorized contacts with reporters. The CIA moreover claim she even admitted to releasing classified while being interrogated, after failing polygraph test(s).

That's a great graphic. LoL!

Just heard the CIA may not prosecute because they don't want to discuss what was leaked in open court. :-(Anyone who advances this argument doesn't have the brainpower to work in intelligence, and should be fired immediately.
By definition, the traitor has already leaked all of it to God knows who, so it's a moot --- and very dumb --- point.

Larry Johnson always goes out of his way to claim he is a registered Republican and that he has contributed heavily to the GOP in the past.
Oddly enough, the FEC has no records of any contributions from him to the GOP. They do, however list these:
JOHNSON, LARRY
BETHESDA, MD 20817
DEAN, HOWARD
VIA DEAN FOR AMERICA
12/27/2003 311.00 24990407496
JOHNSON, LARRY C
BETHESDA, MD 20817
BERG AND ASSOCIATES/MANAGING MEMB
MARCINKOWSKI, JAMES
VIA MARCINKOWSKI FOR CONGRESS
12/19/2005 2000.00 26980097211
The second one is definitely from our boy, Larry. It is for a Democrat who trained with Johnson and Plame at the CIA.
And he is almost as rabid as Larry about the (non-leak) leak of her (non-covert) desk jockey job at CIA.
Marcinkowski for Congress
http://www.marcinkowskiforcongress.com/index.asp
To be fair, the Dean contribution could be from some other Larry Johnson in that zip code. But what are the odds?
