It is big time TALK news on Mexico City. The EYES of the World are upon you, America. Will you apply LAW? I remember George W. Bush was MAN enough once to NOT stand in the way of an Evangelical gal who wanted to LIVE. He let her go to the electric chair. Pat Robertson, Dr. Dobson, many others begged him to NOT do this. Bush was a man who shot from the hip, and it was to uphold law.
I think Bush is doing what he thinks is morally right. That doesn't stop him from being painfully, and devistatingly wrong at the nation's expense.
If I lived in or very near a city I would save all my shopping up and do it on May 1st.
Pay attention to which businesses close in support. Post their names widely and boycott them for the next year. It can be "the year without gringos."
New strategy for May 1: head for the smaller towns and suburbs to do the shopping.
Just save all the money up for then and shop until you drop! Or if you're broke, work overtime!

Actually, it has nothing to do with gringos. It celebrates Mexico's victory over the French in the battle of Puebla in 1862.
Any near-helpless country (Mexico) that can kick France's arse deserves a celebration, IMO!
Despite not living in the US, I intend to do a lot of shopping on May 1 as well!

My son has been hearing about the protests at his middle school.
I doubt our school district will do anything against any students that don't go to school on Monday.

Most agree some reform would DOUBLE, TRIPLE, and QUADRUPLE the flow of poor to the world's biggest economy, especially after all of Central America realized that the Bush/DEMOCRAT proposal was actually AMNESTY by another name.
