That's interesting. Wasn't aware of that.
Yes, at one time she was gorgeous. Beauty and life are fleeting.
I think she had a very difficult time coming to terms with the loss of her looks and aging.
I wish her well.
A new heart would do wonders.
It was the other way around. She converted when she married Mike Todd, and she married Eddie Fisher after Mike Todd died. Liz was a supporter of Israel, and I think her bodyguards are Israeli former commando types.
Who's the dude with the bad hat? And why is Liza holding on to a mannequin of Dick Martin?
You can always count on someone to pipe up and be a Little Ray of Sunshine for Jesus. :-D
What is that? A remake of The Munsters?!
I guess my take on aging is different,
I still see her as quite beautiful,
different, but still beautiful.
I see lots of elderly women like that....you can still see 'who' they are ;)
As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout so is a fair woman which is without discretion. Proverbs 11:22
Some consider them spaniels.
I had a Maltese. He was the best friend I've ever had. I miss him. Those pictures look just like him. I'd love to have another one, but they are so hard to keep groomed. I don't like the short hair cut, but we did keep the hair around his eyes cut. He wasn't prissy; he thought the bows were sissified. He sounded like a big dog, too. I am convinced he saved me from a home invasion once. The guy couldn't see him; he could only hear him.
Some of us just like to enjoy a movie sometimes, Zechariah. That's really all there is to it. :)
Ah yes, another blue-nose heard from. Actually, she's the opposite of a tramp. I heard her say in an interview once that she'd had so many marriages because she was raised to believe you should be married to a man if you were sleeping with him.
I don't know how far I would go to defend her--didn't she steal Eddie Fisher when he was still married? Still, I take the point.
She's one-of-a-kind. Which is to the advantage of everyone else, because even with her beauty and her talent, no should lead a life like she did.
In her younger days she was absolutely the most beautiful and sexy star out there. A great actress. Getting old is better than the alternative. So I have been told. God bless her.
I don't admire every single thing she ever did. I just enjoy her movies sometimes. Really, that's all that I judge her on.
Yes, she was vilified for "stealing" Eddie Fisher from Debbie, and "stealing" Richard Burton from Sybil, but I don't think you can "steal" anyone who doesn't want to go. ;-)
She and Debbie Reynolds eventually "kissed and made up" - after seeing how Eddie Fisher wound up, I think they both realized what a loser he was.
Debbie has a great sense of humor and has been really funny in her recent TV "mother" roles and things like that.
How many men did she have in her lifetime? Who knows; but she made some great movies; Cleopatra is my favorite one.
I'm sorry, is that tv picture really her? Oh how tragic.
I think it's sort of wierd Liz Taylor, (who converted to Judaism when she married Mike Todd), has annual Easter parties.
I think she converted when she married Eddie Fisher!
ROTFL!! Oh that was classic!
I have no idea who is right after finding this:
"About the famous religious convert Elizabeth Taylor what religion she converted from and to and why.
RENOWNED RELIGIOUS CONVERTS
ELIZABETH TAYLOR, U.S. (British-born), 1932-.
From: Christian Science.
Why: Taylor converted to Judaism after the death of her husband Mike Todd and before her marriage to Eddie Fisher, although she claimed the conversion had nothing to do with marriage plans. "As a kid I had a Walter Mitty dream about being Jewish and wished I was," she says in her autobiography.""
Didn't she marry Fisher after Todd? Something to do with "borrowing" Fisher from her friend, Debbie, as a shoulder to cry on?
Wow, I guess I'm a better person than I'd known: My dad says, "Well, at least [bannie] always marries them."
You're probably right; but who wants one who can be thusly enticed?
Like her or not, another 20th century Hollywood icon passes. There ain't very many left - Deborah Kerr comes to mind - Scots are a tough lot.
I liked her as ther "perfect" Amy in Little Women....I think she had blond hair for that role tho so she looked very different.
This makes me sad. I didn't agree with all her views but she really was a beautiful woman. Not a great actress.
Liz Taylor was a knock out, beautiful lady. Yes, her present health condition is sad. I don't like to see people suffer. She wasn't great, but still made a few tons of Hollywood gold.
Her health always seemed to be bad, one thing after another.
Exactly! I can't think of her and not see that image in my head. What a bunch of freaks.
That's so true. Some people are more fragile than others. I believe it's attributed to ones genes and how they took care of themselves in their youth. Liz lived a pretty fast life.
She certainly is/was a beautiful woman.
Well OK for that, but I promise you all here and my kids too, after I die, my money will not be going to AIDS research.
The real reason I hate that she'll die is that we'll all be subjected to countless hours of TV treating this like it's the greatest tragedy of all time. While I don't think it will surpass the Princess Diana level of media-induced hysteria, it will certainly leave John-John's in the dust.
I think it's a toss up as to who was more beautiful in her prime. Either Liz Taylor or Audrey Hepburn. No doubt about who aged the most gracefully, however. Hepburn by a mile.
And you know that, huh?
I never thought of Audrey Hepburn as beautiful, more cute to my way of thinking but I'm a woman, lol.
I hate the California car chases, on and on and on!!
I always like Liz mostly because she married every man she fell in love with:)
I wouldn't call her a "class act," with her eight(?) marriages, drug addiction etc, but she is a throwback to a bygone era. Someone recently observed how the stars in the old movies were adults, while the current crop are universally idiot children. Liz Taylor, like her contemporaries, was an adult. There are none like her, or them, today.
Does anyone know if she is a Christian?<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
She converted to Judaism when married to Eddie Fisher. Don't know if she continued observing it after Eddie.
And the ones she always says she loved the most are the two who died years ago! Had they lived she might not be saying that, lol.
