Ruby Tuesday has awesome food. Beats the hell out of Applebees, Fridays, and Chilis hands down. But don't screw around with the burgers, try the steak, chicken, or seafood instead.

The organizers of the boycott on Monday are saying that they are staging the boycott because there is so much hatred of immigrants.

Nonsense.

I don't hate imigrants at all.

BUT -- if you want to come to the United States, do so legally.

And, once you are here, learn to speak English, obey our laws, and add to our culture and embrace our culture at the same time.

Is that so much to ask??

So, here's what I'm doing on Monday:

I'll get breakfast from this coffee shop owned by some immigrants from Taiwan. They are here legally and they speak English.

I'll get lunch at a cafeteria run by some folks from Greece. They're here legally, and the speak English.

I'll have dinner at a kabob place run by some legal immigrants from Pakistan who speak English.

I'll pick up some dry cleaning from a place run by some Koreans -- again, legally here and speaking English.

I believe in welcoming legal immigrants who want to obey our laws, learn our language, and become Americans without "amnesty".

2. Michaels Stores - $416,503 - 100%

Excellent! I feel "Crafting Fever" coming upon me! I'll buy supplies at Michael's and hunker down on Monday to "craft" all day. :)

Hey, KAC? Would you and your ping list care to join me in our own little counter-boycott? ;)

Ruby Tuesday, my daughter works there part time. I think I'll make reservations there for lunch or dinner, on Monday.

What a great day! I'll slip into my Fruit of the Loom briefs, then join the cops for breakfast at Krispy Kreme. Then lunch at Wendy's and order-in Domino's Pizza for dinner. I don't live that way often but Monday looks like a great opportunity.

I've been needing a new HDTV set and Best Buy has great prices and selection. I'll replenish my Miracle-Gro supply and we'll munch on a little Russell Stover's candy for dessert after lunch and dinner.

Sounds like a great opportunity!

I try to avoid Best Buy nowadays. A few years back they used eminent domain to take land in Bloomington, MN to build their headquarters (which, BTW, is an architectural abortion). The property is situated along the busiest stretch of freeway in the metro area, which is irrelevant for Best Buy's office space, but it meant a lot to the car dealerships that were there before.

Russell Stover is on our "good" list? Cool cocoa beans! I'll have to finish my Russell Stover Easter candy before I can patronize their wares on Monday, however.

I remember a few years back, there was an ad campaign ask us to buy products "Made in the USA".

That one apparently didn't work. However, how about a similar campaign, but for businesses rather than products.

Business could hang a sign, (after strict verification of course), announcing to the world that all of it's employees were either citizens, or in this country legally.

I know I would search and do business with and shop at establishments that had such a sign.

I know, I know, easily forged, no way to enforce, yada yada yada. All I know is we gotta do something as our government apparently isn't.

Surely...a good day to plan a stash expansion expedition!

Hey crafters! Want to join us in declaring May 1 Craft Supply Roundup day?

Time for me to hit the Needlepoint Joint and buy some yarn to start weaving that sash my hubby wants...
