Just FYI, for those who may be unaware: The First Lady has been traveling the country a lot recently. She has been combining apperances on behalf of the White House youth initiatives with campaigning for Republican congressional candidates.

I didn't watch it, but I wished I had. They are usually hilarious. Also, I had hoped there would be a future airing of it, but I guess not.

I know there are some polls out there that say this man has a 32% approval rating. But guys like us, we don't pay attention to the polls. We know that polls are just a collection of statistics that reflect what people are thinking in reality. Reality, that's a well known liberal bias." IMO Colbert was unwatchable.

You get those boys from Comedy Central (Stewart, Colbert) away from their studio and put them in a live situation and they are about as funny as Al Gore wearing his strap-on beard.

From the USA Today review "[Steve Colber] then showed a clip in which he fielded questions by the press corps, only to wind up running from the building chased by veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas."
LOL! Did they really get the old bird to do that?

I read the USA Today review...and I think they were WAY too kind to Colbert...and seemed to go out of their way to find someone to compliment him...seemed to be the other "actors", rather than any politicians or some media.

Then Colbert, host of The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, kept everyone laughing, poking fun at all sorts of topics, but with an overall theme of Bush. Pres. Bush kept them laughing, spontaneously and often - Colbert did NOT keep even the lib crowd laughing - except lowly and rather taken aback - as if they thought it was supposed to be funny and therefore they should be laughing - but they were confused as to WHEN to laugh, since there was nothing funny about it

If anyone has a tape of the President's incredibly hilarious act last night, I want you to watch it and tell me if you think that President Bush mouthed the words "She's hot" with Steve after his comment about Laura.
It may be just me, but I think I saw his lips move....... :)
btw, THANKS for the Sunday Dose, Wolfstar! GREAT 'smirk' from the President this morning! Feeling good about being a star, I'll bet. :)

Just curious if there is an 'after-action' WHCA Dinner FReep thread? (I was unable to find one)
I am SO sorry we couldn't join you for all the activities this past weekend. Thank you once again for hitting the streets on behalf of all far-flung FReepers! :o)
