To: All I'd like to thank everyone here for all your prayers and support the past 10 days. It has meant so much to me and my family. As you know there was NO cancer and because my descending colon takes a few turns and "s" curves, I still have more colon than most people!!! As it turns out, the radiation therapy that I had in 1974, which shriveled two arteries by 1996 leading to an arterial bypass, is the culprit once again. My transverse colon was shriveled and fused to my spleen. The Doctor was unable to separate the two so removed the spleen and the damaged section of colon. I've been home since Sunday afternoon and I feel fantastic. I won't be able to work for some time but we'll get by...God always provides a way. Thank you all again for your prayers and support May God Bless all FReepers everywhere.

I was supposed to go to the hospital today to have the staples removed at 10:00. My wife had a flat tire when she took our son to school and couldn't get me there. I called and told the nurse. A short while later I get a call asking if I could be at the clinic in the town my son goes to school at 11:30. (This is 24 miles from the hospital)
Sure, so I go have the staples removed and my surgeon follows me out the door. "You came to town just to remove my staples?" " Yes, you're my patient aren't you?"
Gotta love the country living!!!
