Hello freepers, I am pleased to announce that freeper Jveritas (Joseph) has agreed to combine forces with a team of us at www.rayrobison.com who are developing a book project for the Iraq documents. We are currently speaking with literary agents and creating the proposal. I have asked Joseph to bring all his freepers together to comment either in this post or on mine, to communicate their desire to see this book get published. I believe this is a first attempt to use the blogosphere to create a petition to get a book published. If we can show the publishers thousands of expressions of support, we just might get it done. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to help us out.

this is a great point, my intention was to make a companion DVD if there are any videos that provide value to the non-arabic speakers. I had put in a FOIA request to DIA for some videos last summer, and if that ever gets released, it may be in the book or sequals.

Personally, I appreciate that, though I'd have understood if your answer had been the opposite. If it were me and I found the in the documents the map that shows where the WMD are buried, I'd probably save that for the book ...

As much as we'd all like to run the collective nose of the liberals into the dirt, I hope that the book is NOT a "nah, nah, nah" type of book.

If fact, I'd like to see a book on these translated documents from the perspective of that there has never been political issues, but rather a straightforward book revealing what has been learned from the prewar documents.

Of course, some juicy "sound bite" type chapter headings in BIG BOLD FONTS would be effective in that that is the only depth of reading that liberals partake in.

Anyways, Congrats all around on this effort!

Good idea DFU! An intro/preface of truth vs lies/dis & misinformation accompnied by some select lines from the documents would be very enlightening for alot of people. It would also provide very good sound bite/text blurbs for promo spots and media coverage/press release.

You missed my point. The book should NOT spend time discussing liberals nor Democrats. That would be a waste of effort and not the point of the discovery contained in the documents.

By just the fact that the book WILL link al-Qaeda and Saddam is enough on its own... plus many more facts. The IDIOTIC idea that Saddam would NOT deal with Jihad terrorists because he is secular will be blown out of the water.

Let the facts of the prewar documents speak for themselves. Look at how effective the movie "United 93" is without trying to slap the face of one side or the other.

Include a downloadable version you can purchase also! And (I think Avacado suggested this) have dem quotes for the names of the chapters, and then have the docs that show them to be lying or just wrong as the basis for that chapter. Just for fun. But yes, I'd read it (but y'all didn't really have to ask me that, did you?).

Such a project needs to 'compare and contrast' the lies and slanderous treachery of the democrat party leadership and the truth jveritas is uncovering. To merely publish the documents -if your intent is to get the truth to the American people- doesn't require a book. Possibly the biggest mistake that could be made. This stuff must be made in documentary form that cannot be refuted by the MSM....it must set them back on their heals.

FOX's endorsement would only lend to ridicule and derision by all of the rest of the MSM....which, like it or not, is formidable!!

Any publication of a compilation of the Iraq Documents must be done with a "documentary tone" that virtually blows away the chattering classes ability to discredit it.

I envision a simultaneous release of a book and a DVD with supporting commentary from disinterested translators and from Iraqi witnesses willing to testify to the truth behind the document translations.

Why drag down this very important and historic work to the level of a Michael Moore slime fest? The documents speak for themselves.

If it's a tit-for-tat "you lied" type of book then even I am not interested in it.
