LOS ANGELES, May 2 (UPI) -- ABC TV has put an abrupt term limit on its freshman drama, "Commander in Chief."
The network Tuesday announced it was pulling the Geena Davis series for the rest of May sweeps and running the newsmagazine "Primetime" in its 10 p.m. Thursday slot for the final three weeks of the season, Zap2it.com reported.
The series started as one of the most-watched in the fall and Davis won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of the first female U.S. president.
However, two extended breaks and behind-the-scenes changes as well as a schedule move from Tuesday to Thursday all contributed to a deep slide in ratings.
"Commander's" three Thursday night shows have averaged about 7.5 million viewers, which means half the viewers who tuned in during the fall are now focused elsewhere, Zap2it.com said.
ABC said it would probably air the final three episodes sometime during the summer
Finally.
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
So, I guess this means America is not ready for a liberal female president, after all. I'm glad that's settled.
Well, there's an award I'll never consider legitimate again.
I think it was all a scam so they could run this headline. =)
And they're surprized about this why??
Judging by the promos, that thing was a piece of crap from the get-go.

HILLARY to SCHUMER: "We'll be testing the waters once again with some other show in the near future...you can count on it."
It is amazing how intolerant the bottom line bean counters are at ABCNNBCBS these days.
This show stunk even worse than the one with James Garner as the uber liberal Supreme Court Justice. I bailed out of the first show about 15 minutes in. It took my wife about 2 more shows to agree with me. Up to this point, she and our DIL had been Geena Davis fans.
"I think it was all a scam so they could run this headline. =)'
Hey, this isn't the Clinton years.
Awwww....
LOL. You know a TV show blows when the season finale is in July.
Did they contribute to a slide in ratings, or were they the result of a slide in ratings? The show was mindless dreck, even moreso than the usual television fare. Good riddance!
Hillary, take note!
HA! In other words the show SUCKS so bad we are replacing it with a lame news program during sweeps. I tell ya, nothing beats the failure of aging liberal actors. Schadenfreude wood!
"And the next one will be a lesbian not unlike Rosie O'Donuts in character and appearance".
Boo Fricking hoo!
Lol! I've never even seen the show, just the previews. That's all I needed to see to know that it was crap!
That golden globe was not even earned. The show was a trainwreck from the first episode.
The award was given to her by liberal hollyweird desperately trying everything it could to keep the show alive to help Hitlery get in the whitehouse.
Another bait and switch move to get Billary back in the whitehouse failed. Good Riddens.
Hillary's alter ego bites the dust.
Who still reads Reader's Digest?
But...but...wasn't America ready for a liberal, woman President?
May the real Hillary fare as poorly as the fake TV one.

Sorry schmucky, I've got the biggest piece in my hand. You'll need to go after the rest with a Q-Tip.
Yeah. Like when they gave the Oscar for Best Movie to "Shakespeare in Love" over "Saving Private Ryan".
I am glad...I have never watched the Oscars since then. And I never watched the Golden Globes or Emmys anyway. Think of all the time I have saved!
Somewhere, one TV exec is explaining to another that the show could've worked with a lesbian president going through the travail of adopting a poor black child with her partner.
Never watched this piece of garbage.
Goodbye you garbage Hillary Rotten Clinton free promotional ads. I never saw it, never will.
It was pure swill from the Hollyweird democraptic constituents and the public pushed this to the trash heap of old rotten socialist rejects.
I really liked Geena Davis in The Long Kiss Goodnight. She kicked ass in an amazing way. What happened?
The show may have jumped the shark after Steve Bochco took over, but in the early episodes I didn't spot anything "liberal" she did.
(Apart from making Wesley Clark VP - OK, bad, but if I had Nat Templeton gunning for me, i'd want a Wesley Clark firewall too.)
Supposed to be a dry run for Hillary. Ends up boring the public to death.
If you never watched it, how do you know it was a piece of garbage? Last week's episode featured her black Republican chief of staff. Geena told him he was the most ethical person she's ever known.
Her vice president is a Republican. He was also portrayed in a favorable light last week as he opposed the machinations of the slimy Donald Sutherland who's a Republican. The Democrats in the show have frequently been portrayed as unscrupulous and unprincipled.
I like the show. It has a halfway intelligent script and although some of the plots are a bit farfetched, the show can be entertaining. At least it isn't some puerile comedy with toilet jokes and double entendre like most of the tv fare these days.
I wonder if they're gonna invite Valerie Plame & Joe Wilson to the "Commander in Chief's" funeral since their such good buds and invited them to the White House Correspondents Dinner last weekend?
LMAOPIMP !!!!!!!!!!
When the early background story came out that Mackenzie Allen was a conservative who was not a Creationist, word went out from a thousand Fundamentalist pulpits across the land that the character was "a liberal" and the Faithful would imperil their Immortal Souls if they watched it.
Yeah, that's what did it in. Sure. Okay.
I don't understand - it seems like most of the uber liberal agenda re movies, lib talk shows, etc, now go down in flames. No one watches or listens. So HOW is "W's" approval rating so low? Or is it, really -
The only thing that's having rave reviews and audiences this year in "Flight 93" -
It seems like the silent majority is still conservative...
time for the silent majority to stand up and SHOUT -
Too soon.
It's just too soon!
.
Of course, the sheer silliness of the show is clearly obvious even to the Hillary-loving executives at ABC.
Thank you for your contrarian point of view. I had not had time to watch the program (I dont watch much television at all these days), so I had assumed, from reading here on FR, that the show was simply liberal spew. Your post has corrected that, and has served to remind me how easy it is to make judgements based on the judgements of biased people, and how that can easily be wrong.
